Don't know how > tenable that was but an interesting theory. Won't be eight pence for a small business for all card related costs, would go for about 30 pence once all costs are factored dependant on volume

lower the ceilings below, it makes a huge difference however it does mean a complete first floor redecorating exercise and a lot of dust

10 foot wide property in ED for ?800,000 anyone?
mrcee replied to Libby's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
worth noting that the above link shows a house which is 12ft wide which in estate agent speak probably means practically 10ft wide on average therefore i think the link only justifies the crazy price -
Think they are referring to the catford service rather than forest hill however I thought catford had more than 2 per hour.

Where to move for schools in SE London?
mrcee replied to ExitPursuedByABear's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Honor Oak Park is good for primary schools with Stillness, Dalmain and Fairlawn all performing well, not sure on Secondary schools although one of my neighbours sent their kids to secondary school in Surrey as the trains from Honor Oak practically went straight there. Some of the roads behind the high street in HOP (south side) might be in the catchment of both Stillness and Dalmain. Good Luck -
Any houses around Stillness, Dalmain, Fairlawn. We went east of the tracks as I work in between Canary Wharf, Kings Cross plus travel via major airports/train stations therefore east of the tracks you have two separate train lines to choose from which comes in useful. we have a two year old and another on the way so schools was a big choice for us, have a look at the results of the above schools to see if they fit what you are looking for. P.s. Jenner Healthcare Centre is pretty good

Low height loft conversion - did you do one?
mrcee replied to acb2013's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi Damzel, Please can you also let me know the company? (by PM if your prefer). Did you need to move out whilst the work was taking place? if so how long did you move out for? Was there a lot of dust around on your 1st floor post the completion? we have a toddler and new baby on way. -
Low height loft conversion - did you do one?
mrcee replied to acb2013's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Nunheadmum - how does your loft feel with a height of 1.95m? we are considering our loft and will end up with a similar height but unsure whether it will feel boxed in for us?? especially as i am 1.8m tall. -
Advice wanted re probable car write-off - should I claim or not?
mrcee replied to Sue's topic in The Lounge
unfortunately your premium will rise, two years ago someone hit my legally parked car and I had protected no-claims & clearly no blame in the accident. My insurance firm confirmed that it cost them ?0 in terms of the accident, yet my premium was raised by 10% which i challenged. got the answer 'computer says this policyholder was involved in an accident so the premium has gone up' its all a racket -- rant over -
