  1. Hi My sister in law has just had a baby girl and none of us have kids so can't pass on any sagely wisdom. I want to get her a gift and wondered what 3 things you could recommend that have been invaluable to you as a new mum. Any suggestions gratefully received Thanks Sarah
  2. Check out the Moscow cat theatre on you tube - a cat circus. Hats off to anyone who can make cats do tricks. Mine wouldn't even go through the cat flap unless you held it open for them
  3. Good luck with your venture, my aunt runs a pub and I know how hard it can be. I am not much of a sports fan but a plea from my other half, put on the football with the commentary - he goes to the edt for football and ale but alas he never gets the full experience due to music being played instead of the commentary. Maybe not every game but perhaps a super Saturday/Sunday I decent Sunday roast that doesn't break the bank wouldn't go a miss either. Look forward to coming in for a beer or two
  4. I had problems since I moved to ed last year. I often have no reception in my house on melbourne grove and have to call people from upstairs. If I have low battery it's worse - 50% and I loose all reception between Peckham rye and ed on the train. starting to consider switching... Don't want to really as been with orange since I was 18
  5. Thanks everyone. Will head down there to sign up tonight. Will keep clear of kids time. Thanks for the heads up
  6. Hi I am debating about joining JAGs to use their pool after reading various comments regarding Dulwich baths. Anyone already a member? What is the service like? Does the pool get busy? I would like to swim at around 6.30pm on a week day evening for about an hour lane swimming if possible. Buit I won't be shelling out if its just as crowded as Dulwich baths. Thanks for your input Kind regards Sarah
  7. Thanks will check out your earlier posts
  8. Hi I was wondering if any one could advise me. I moved to ed and never registered with a doctor. 3 weeks ago I hurt my leg falling in the gap at London bridge tube station. Leg was bruised but I could still walk on it. 3 weeks in leg is now swollen and giving me pain. Is there anyway I can get a doctor to look at it even though I'm not registered anywhere. I feel if I go to a & e I'm using up resources on something not life threatening. Thanks in advance for your advice Sarah aka limpy of ed
  9. Morning I was wondering if anyone found my black canvas bag that I dropped on platform one this morning. As I was half asleep only realised after I got on the train and would have been late for work if I went back. It had 2 Christmas presents in it (value ?10) not worth much but perfect for who I was buying for. Please let me know if you see it. Will try lost property London bridge and see if it's been handed in at ED station when I go home tonight. Thanks Sarah
  10. From Reading the forum in past few months I get the feeling that those who frequent the forum ( yes generalising before I start a rant) are of the left - however as soon as anything happens that may reduce house prices, you all get a bit NIMBY and DaIly Mail. Shame really ED is a nice place but some people make it so intolerent. From a self confessing non recycling Tory (who although 'educated' can't spell - before you all start on that too)
  11. HI I found a wallet on LL at 10.38pm last night - opposite the police station. No cash but lots of cards including driving license and student ID. PM me or call me 07779 241 333 if you think its yours otherwise I will take it to the bank on Friday to hand it in
  12. Is there anyway posters can be put up at ED station so everyone is aware? The only time i seem to find out about this is via the forum. When I lived in Kilburn the tube station had posters clearly stating closures. Surely Southern rail could do the same (or even the station manager)
