I’m amazed that the council and Gala go through this fabrication of a consultation considering Gala started selling early bird tickets in November 2024 therefore they know it’s going to happen.

Another recomendation for Robert Mills. Our thermostat was on the blink, called Monday and came yesterday and serviced the boiler and fixed the thermostat, Fab service.

GALA Music Festival 2024 Consultation
Sazzle30 replied to tomster's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Am I being silly but isn’t this around the same amount of time as last year for the festival, it looks like the same numbers of days that area will be allocated to the festival. Personally I don’t mind having the festival, I live near the park and regularly attend, it’s a small amount of people (for a festival), really friendly atmosphere and Gala are mindful to minimise their impact on the environment and it doesn’t seem to do much damage to that area of the park. I have even bought my tickets for this year from Gala so they seem to be sure it’s going ahead. -

If you want good Tacos head to Peckham which has two new Taco places: https://www.tacatacos.co.uk/ down from the triangle Taquiza (on Instagram) near the station both great -
I am with neighbourhood vet (7 years) and go every year with my cat to have vaccinations, as I’ve been lucky and she’s been well. Every time I am there I am asked about petplan despite requesting a note on my cats record not to ask as I am fortunate enough to be in a position to affrod to pay directly should I need too. Every time I say no I am made to feel bad and am patronised about the potential cost of treatment. This time the vet said my cat had a crumbling tooth that would have to be removed despite the vet pointing out this was common in cats and it had happened on the other side without issue. When I queried the procedure - would it be under general anaesthetic and the risks involved to weigh up whether it was in the interests of my cat (she’s is eating fine in on both sides) I was made yet again to feel like I couldn’t afford my pet. Instead of answering my questions she lead straight in with its around £800 and you could get pet insurance. When I then again queried the risks of general anaesthetic for small cats she then said I could pay for a blood test in advance to highlight if there would be an issue. I left feeling that the my cat is a cash cow (!) to them and bullied into the appointment which I am going to cancel and move vets after reading this thread.

Hi We were also insured with Towergate brokers under landlords insurance on the building as we share the freehold with the flat below. But it got really expensive so are now insured via the Alan Boswell group stil woth landlords building insurance. Can send you details of them via PM. The freehold buildings insurance is joint with the flat below (we are in a Edwardian purpose built maisonette with two flats.). We were advised to get landlords insurance with both flats as tenants to ensure we weren’t duel insured (where both flats take out buildings insurance as it causes issues as to who claim on who’s policy if you need too.). However we dont have any underpinning but an incredibly large excess for subsidence as we are in a subsidence area. Hope this helps

Hi Please could I ask you to sign this petition, the proposed development would completely over shadow the surrounding area not to mention blocking the views from the the Bussey Building rooftop and Franks. As we all know these developments will not benefit the locals, any social housing provisions will disappear over time. It will totally change Peckham https://www.change.org/p/we-say-no-to-berkeley-homes-plan-for-peckham?utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=custom_url&recruited_by_id=a7e84d80-6cf5-11ed-a824-8d0cc2141839 Many thanks

Another recomendation for Roger and Critter solutions. He sorted our mouse invasion back in pandemic times and came round today to look at my wasp nest & was able to treat it there and then which I didn’t expect. I now am wasp free. Highly recomend him.

Not giving up my flying though :-) Haven?t as yet seen anyone camping on the rye, unless they only stay at night and pack up for the day? -

My issue with XR is they offer no solutions to the climate crisis just carry out their civil disobedience. Be great if they offered some ideas of what can be done. Have a relative active in the group and when I ask it?s all about having a peoples assembly to decide on action which will get us nowhere. Not sure what the solution is as mankind is hardly going to give up breeding, driving and having international holidays -
There is a local collection at the begging bowl on Bellenden road. Organised by the Begging Bowel cleaners who are Polish and Ukrainian. They have asked for the following: Womens Coats Woman?s Warm clothes Food sanitary items Kids clothes Sheets Towels Nappies Blankets Water bottles Sleeping bags They are collecting items until 9th March and then driving the items to Wlodawa Saw this in the uva London Instagram account this morning

Another recommendation for Carl - he's just finished our fence and has done an amazing job, was punctual and finished exactly when he said he would despite a late delivery of wood. Lovely guy and left the garden clean and tidy and took the old fence away. Now my garden looks unloved compared to the new fence. Might need him back to sort it out! Have no hesitation in recommending him. Check out the before and after pictures. Thanks again Carl.
