  1. Sorry, why will there be no Street lighting? I think blocking that road and the entrance to the astroturf is disgusting. It is just inconveniencing residents and surely they need to keep residents on side? I assume Meadow are running into the ground so it is worthless so they can build on it but there is no way residents are going to support that with the way they are trying to hold the community to randsom... serious toys being thrown out of pram childish behaviour!
  2. I have friends who's children are still there and they prefer this manager and feel the environment has improved with the change in leadership. The main reason we moved my son was to get him into Bessemer as that is where he will hopefully go to school. My daughter is currently on the waiting list for Mother Goose. My son really thrived there.
  3. Yes it was an event at the football club where things escalated and a lad was stabbed to death. Whoever approved the event is an idiot if they thought a sound clash event was appropriate in a densely populated residential area. I don't have an issue with them rebuilding etc the new football stadium. The issue is using the protected land for the new stadium and building flats on the existing site. That said, if the new stadium is going to increase noise, light pollution and traffic on the surrounding areas then yes it is a problem.
  4. Still can't get through. And have heard the use of "f***ing" more than once. Guess it will have to be an email to DHFC and form to southwark
  5. Air horns?! Seriously?! Am trying to call the council but can't get though. Ridiculous an event of this kind is allowed to run in a residential area!!
  6. If you are going to breastfeed then a good breastfeeding pillow.... Mine was invaluable in helping baby to get in a good position when I was half asleep and exhausted. I gave mine away after baby1 but have just reinvested in this one for baby2 as I loved it so much http://www.thrupennybits.co.uk/ultimate-range A comfy nursing chair and footstool! A red nightlight as red light is less disruptive to baby (and yours) sleep cycle.
  7. I didn't do a course but I did have this book and multi cd set http://www.kghypnobirthing.com/the-hypnobirthing-book-and-complete-cd-collection.html which I am selling if anyone is interested.
  8. Depends how tall lockers is. Ours is 185cm which meets building regs (clearance on the stairs has to be 2m though). The min for the actual loft is either 180 or 185 I can't remember but I know we meet it.
  9. We saw him on Saturday sat outside ED station asking for money for a train as he had a puncture
  10. If you can stand at the highest point would a dormer not extend from that point? We are in the middle of a loft conversion the height in the centre of the room is the same as the height in the dormer... it is still quite low at 1.85m but luckily that is higher than we are tall.
  11. Our son has attended Little Stars (part of Bessemer campus) since he was two and loves it. He is moving to Bessemer nursery school from September and we are hoping he will go on to Reception there as we hear nice things about Bessemer. If you are near Dulwich Hospital you are likely to be in their catchment area.
  12. I'm with Juniper 2, not sure if the number is the same but I have 020 8299 5696
  13. As it is my second baby I haven't done a full course as such but I did attend a birthing workshop led by a couple of local yoga teachers who are also doulas that I found really helpful regarding positions for labour and breathing etc... http://www.michelemyoga.com/birthing-workshops.html
  14. Our building control people have approved the plans based on all three components. On the upside it looks like the plumis system is costing about ?1k than expected although we don't yet know the electrician's costs for their part of the install.
  15. No we have known from the start but the builders on site are surprised we need all 3 so are checking for us. Whatever they say we need the loft done as we are out of space!
  16. We are in the middle of a loft conversion... we have been told, due to the open plan nature of the ground floor, including the stairs being completely open, that we have to have fire doors on the kitchen door, bedroom doors and loft door, linked smoke alarms in each habitable room AND a Plumis system. We have been told approx ?3k for a plumis system but need to look into finding someone who actually supplies and fits the system.
  17. Sounds like a great idea Jayne! That's part of the reason I started volunteering to be the tailrunner as I am supposed to be last so it doesn't matter how slowly I go!
  18. I was the tailrunner (walker) for dulwich park run the last two weeks but won't be there this week!
  19. I go to Dulwich ParkRun on Saturday mornings with my husband and son so can only do the evening ones... looking forward to trying it next week :-)
  20. Does anyone in this group attend pregnancy yoga? I tried the class at FC Wellbeing (above Fashion Conscience on Grove Vale) last week and plan to try the one at Goose Green clinic next Thursday... thought it might be a good way to try and meet some of you if others do it? Also I have just booked on to this birth workshop and thought others might be interested: http://www.michelemyoga.com/birthing-workshops.html
  21. I don't want a home birth and don't have mental health problems and I am with Juniper. My details with registered with Kings via the midwife linked to my GP Surgery and then I received a booking appointment which had allocated me to Juniper before I had any discussions regarding my wishes. They mentioned a home birth as I was low risk and had a straightforward labour last time, and I refused saying I wanted to be in Kings.
  22. Whatsapp group sounds like a plan. I can't make either of those dates as hubby is out :-(
  23. You might struggle as it used to be illegal to make colour copies of passports. How about taking a photo?
  24. My son went there from 8months to 26 months and did really well. As with anywhere we felt some staff were better than others. We really liked the outdoor space and the fact they have outside time everyday. No experience of the new manager but we have our name down for a place when our second arrives.
  25. No, my mum was with me and my husband. I was originally looking for a doula because my husband wasn't sure if he wanted to be in the room and my mum splits here time between England and Ireland and do wasn't sure if she'd be here, but all was well :-)
