You can also try Zoe's Strawberry Drama (she works closely with Margaret who is mentioned by DenmotherSmith. I can also highly recommend MArgaret as a drama and music teacher. You can email Zoe for more information on her classes on [email protected] I think she is also running both Easter and Summer workshops as well. Zoe runs classes at the IvyHouae (Nunhead); Newlands Academy (Nunhead) and another venue in Peckham on Saturdays. Di

With regard to waiting lists - Does anyone know if you get offered a school, say that was 4th on your original list and accept it, Can you then still stay on the waiting list for your first and second choice?

I would be very interested in this. At the start of the year I have been trying to avoid buying products using single use plastic. This has proved much trickier than I thought although I have made some substantial changes to how we shop and what we use. Unfortunately I have not been able to source pasta, rice, grains etc not wrapped in plastic.

I was given a voucher once for this spa which I absolutely loved - Covent Garden. https://thaisquarespa.com/ - although no pool I have also been (cheaper option) to the spa in Bethnal green (also no pool) https://www.spaexperience.org.uk/locations/bethnal-green I have not yet gone to a spa (in London) with a pool area - perhaps one attached to a hotel? This article gives a few recommendations http://www.telegraph.co.uk/luxury/travel/londons-best-spas/ Let me know if you do find a day spa with pool.

What about the extreme aqua splash at the Olympic pool (quite easy to get to on the overground. I have heard good things from children who have been to parties there. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g186338-d6440166-r221942367-London_Aquatics_Centre-London_England.html -
Views on Ivydale Primary School
hazelnunhead replied to Poppy3's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have a child at the school and we have overall been very happy with the school and the learnng experience. Over the past 7 years our child has experienced many wonderful teachers and TA's who have supported the learning journey. I have most loved the fact that she can walk to school and that most of her friends live around which has made play dates and meeting up very easy during school and holiday times. Ivydale also has a strong extra curricular programme and children can do extra music classes; gymnastics, dance; chess; photography, natural history; debating amongst many others. There is a wonderful after school club run by Leigh as well as a breakfast club, so that parents and carers who need this type of support are catered for. Ivydale also run a holiday programme during Summer and I think Easter which is incredibly reasonable. I am sure that with the next Ofsted that it will go back to it usual "good". There are many outstanding features to the school, and I think that the last Ofsted reflected more the previous Y6 SATS (which has subsequently been vastly improved this year). Good luck with your decision, when the school has open events - such as the summer fair, or big run in Peckham Park, pop along as its a good opportunity to see the children (and parents!) in action! -

The Albany Theatre (Deptford) usually has good family shows aimed at this age group http://thealbany.org.uk/events/Family You can then also walk to the Deptford Waves Pool which is a good pool for children (slides; etc) In the same walking area is Creekside which often do family activities https://www.creeksidecentre.org.uk/events/ -
I am busy looking at secondary schools and have found the prospectives useful - I have looked at them since going to the schools to recap on the head teachers talk. I am not sure not having one would make me not go, but I do like having the information printed, and not having to read it online. (personal preference).
