  1. My daughter used this additional text in Year 7, would anyone like it? (Free) I can leave outside our house, nunhead if anyone wants it.
  2. My daughter went to these for her 10th birthday - really fun https://cluequest.co.uk/?gclid=CjwKCAjwmKLzBRBeEiwACCVihn2cA20k_qVK6BQhnvRnC8u0-dANybLtpYCRwjpLSsugVOcBaGURFxoC65MQAvD_BwE Right near Kings cross station.
  3. My daughter once went to a party with giant inflatables and obstacle course at the pool at the Olympic centre in Stratford ... enjoyed very much https://www.londonaquaticscentre.org/events/232 Not local but very easy to get there by train
  4. I have used this website to book holidays in Italy - I am not sure about football facilities but we have usually stayed at beautiful converted farmhouses and had breakfast and dinners. We have always booked at new with pools, but usually had to hire a car. Meals have usually cooked from fresh produce from the farm. https://www.agriturismo.net/?PR=EDG150R&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIipTHmbWk5wIVmK3tCh38TgUgEAAYASAAEgIBXvD_BwE I have a fabulous recommendation for Portugal .... pool & food .... but no football field!
  5. Zoe who runs Strawberry Drama holds a fun, warm and creative drama sessions = i think for this age group they are on a Wednesday at the Ivyhouse - https://www.strawberrydrama.com/ My daughter has been part of her drama group for the last 5 years and has absolutely love it.
  6. Thank you for all the information - I have found my old lonely planet Greek island guides so am busy researching and getting closer to a decision.
  7. Thank you - will read up more about Ithaca and Naxos.
  8. I have a real longing to go to Greece this summer - From watching the Durrell's (tv programme) Corfu is high on my list and you can fly to. But also wondering if anyone had any islands they had been to recently (especially with a tween/teen) that they could recommend either in terms of getting there and where you stayed. The other option is to fly to Athens then take a ferry - any suggestions would be most welcome!
  9. I have a daughter at Kingsdale - when we initially went to look at the school when she was in Year 5 - like Redjam says we found the headteachers talk almost off putting. However as it was one of the co-ed schools around we put it on our list of 6 - it was not our first choice as we were also worried about how big it was. My daughter got offered a place and we took it - still with some concerns. However the school has given her a range of opportunities, loads of extra curricular activities that they can drop in and out of (dance, music, drama, sport, horse riding etc). I have emailed the head of learning on two occasions and received a response and a phone call that same day to answer my questions. Any email to any staff member has always been responded to. So although big they seem to manage this with different year groups ending school at different times so it never feels too hectic. Overall we are very happy with the choice and feel that educationally she is been both pushed and supported. We love the range of activities she has been able to partake in - music, drama, maths, art etc all seem to be very strong and supported.
  10. Thank you once again to everyone for giving recommendations and so much choice! As (bad) luck would have it, my cat managed to cut there paw quite badly last week (vet thinks glass) - and needed stitches / anaesthetic / more medication - so it was incredibly handy and used a vet listed here. Much appreciated.
  11. Thank you for recommendations - will look at all of these.
  12. I have been taking my cats to the Neighbourhood Vet which has now moved to Lordship Lane. However at a recent visit there, they charged me over ?100 - ?60 which related to medication for my cats conjunctivitis in one eye. I think I need to find a new vet! I did a quick online search to find that the medication they had given me sold for a third of the price on any website. As the medication had already been opened and a dose of each medication given I had to pay for them. I am very happy with the quality of vets and that service, and that fee is in line with what I expect to pay, however I feel like the prices are unnecessarily bumped up in this way. I have emailed (and phoned) them about this. But I think I need to find a vet that does not over-charge on any medications - would love to have some recommendations as I need to get my cats moved over to another practice.
  13. I meant to add this resource as well - they do frequent webinars (around ?15 each) and will help you understand dyslexia, how to support your child - for example there's one in October about how to support your child back at school https://www.sendgroup.co.uk/
  14. A good starting point might be to contact BDA (british dyslexia association) - they are a charity and have loads of information and might be able to signpost you to an assessment (I think they have some bursaries for this as well) They have accredited tutors as well and you could ask for advice / recommendations around this. Once your child has a statement it will be really useful as it will state what their strengths and weaknesses are - might allow for some funding for resources etc, and you can use it with the school to make sure they are meeting the educational requirements for your child (this is protected under the new equalitites law) - the BDA might be able to also let you know about local support groups, where they often share information about what resources are out there and ways to support your child, https://www.bdadyslexia.org.uk/advice/children/is-my-child-dyslexic I am part of a forum (where resources around dyslexia are shared ) - if you DM me your queries I can also ask the forum (closed to members) any specific questions to see if I can find you any additional information or support.
  15. Perhaps message admin - they Might be able to help you. Really sorry this has happened to you.
  16. Look at Harris Girls - they do gymnastics there - (after school hours) not sure of the age ranges but my daughter took some extra classes there. https://www.harrisdulwichgirls.org.uk/36/harris-fitness
  17. edcam - just to note that with the loose veg (very limited in Sainsbury's) - you can put it straight into your basket / trolley and weigh it loose - you dont have to put it into a bag at all. The scanner weights it and prices it and you dont need another sticker. If you do want to avoide plastic there are many smaller shops - for example a great one on nunhead lane that sells almost 80% of all its fruit and veg loose / no plastic - and if you do need a bag they have paper ones.

I hope your sister has a lovely baby shower. However I think you might find that your request for prizes e.lg wine and gift sets is not met with an overwhelming response. People on the forum often ask for goods but this is usually given to refugees/ women in hostels, somene who might be homeless - basically not to help someone have a party. Perhaps it's just me but I find this rather unusual - unless there's a massive backstory to this event.
  19. There is also music complex www.musicomplex.co.uk - 20 Tanners HIll, Deptford where you can hire drum kits and a room - very reasonable rates. Phone - 020 8691 6666
  20. You might already know, but perhaps of interest, Kingsdale hold a summer club over the first two weeks of the summer holidays for in coming year 7's. Your child can attend any day(s)/weeks (with usually a trip on the Friday of each week) and is a good way to get a feel for the school and meet others, as well as starting to learn the various transport routes to the school.
  21. Thank you for that Extend, that looks exactly like what I was looking for.
  22. Want to organise a few sewing lessons, or if there is a holiday workshop for my daughter to go to. She has a sewing machine and looking to expand her (still. Dry much learning) skills. Any recommendations appreciated.
  23. Hi Natty, I did phone 101, got a reference number, but the issue I was reporting (been deliberately vague here with details) remained - I was hoping a chat with a local police would help resolve it. Update - thanks for numbers - this has now been successfully resolved.
  24. Thanks for that - i have re-logged what i needed to report online via the met-police webiste - but will also phone PC Simon Johnston(thanks Prit) that is what i was looking for.
  25. I need to report something to the local police - does anyone have a nubmer i can contact - apologies, i have tried to do a search as i am sure that these were posted here at some point. TIA
