  1. His name is Paul, click on his website, and then click on "animal parties" for pics of snakes and bugs! http://www.slstc.southwarklea.org.uk/animal_shows.htm
  2. Will find his details and pass them on to you.
  3. Lucy, I am not sure if you will get a pet this way, as you would need, I imagine, someone experienced to handle an animal to make sure they are not over petted. There is someone at Ivydale school who does really interesting talks to children and brings along snakes and bugs. He is very knowledgable and the children all seem to love his talks and shows he does at the school fair. I am sure I read in the school newsletter that he is also doing parties. If this might interest you I could get you his contact details?
  4. Picture house in greenwich. But for truly comfortable armchair like seats try the Everyman in Hampstead!
  5. Southbank? Place to walk, rin and scoot and enjoy the spring like weather. Always buskers around, Not sure what is on at the southbank, but I always enjoyed taking my daughter here, also so nice and quite weekday. Greenwich .... Maritime museum, walk around Cutty sark, play in the park? Childrens museum in bethnal green has things on during the day. I know this is not central london as such, but were and are my top places!
  6. I know it's not the city, but peckham rye is showing it, it's cheap and cheerful and booster seats! Great film, thoroughly enjoyed by all of us!
  7. Another vote for babylonstoren! Just beautiful.
  8. I am not sure about Western Cape as I have mainly visited national parks just outside of Johannesburg - if you want the true bush experience, and the chance to see the "Big 5" then you could think about that? Kruger National Park has accomodation through the parks board, which is basic but very reasonable (if you go luxury and private you will pay thousands). Although the rand/pound rate has slipped very much in your favour! I have done the Kruger PArk on many occasions and absolutely love it. My daughter has been - aged 4 for the first time - (Of course you will need to look at malaria/time of year etc). The thing with a game park (for children) is that you need to sit in the car for periods of time whilst you go game viewing - although as you drive quite slowly they can at least roam a bit on the back seat! Heres a link that might help you with the Cape Town side of things, I could ask my friends in cape town if they have any recommendations. http://www.capetownmagazine.com/things-to-do/sanparks/190 http://www.capetownmagazine.com/wildlife-safari/best-cape-town-safari-adventures-and-game-drives/45_52_55288 - this gives a list of the parks outside of Cape Town
  9. HI Daya I read yesterday about ED Warehouse closing ..... what a pity! However we will be sure to find you at your new space (Mabel) and continue to get our shoes from you. I am so glad that you have a new spot to go to. Wishing you much luck with your relocation, and see you as soon as the weather turns and my daughter needs a lighter shoe! The winter boots we bought from you are still holding up well!
  10. Old nunhead has a room at the top for parties etc. not sure about catering though Or dish and Spoon on Cheltenham road does bookings for parties and food.
  11. Great story penquin ....... Thanks for sharing
  12. The Winnie the Witch also comes in chapter style books, and they are quite fun. The claude books are brilliant though.
  13. Have you seen the Claude books (the nunhead library has then) - great stories and there are about 6 of them. He includes things like "Woolybottom farm" and other such innuedno which always raises a laugh in our house! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Claude-Country-Alex-T-Smith/dp/1444909282 They are fun to read, come in short chapters, still have a picture on each page, and really funny.
  14. Hi Leigh, my daughter did two days with them and absolutely loved it. It seems well run, lots of space at the venue, and when I offered my daughter to do it this mid term break she jumped at the chance. So yes, I would recommend it.
  15. Ebay is a good source for this ..... they sell both new and second hand ones, depending on what you want ......
  16. Another recommendation for Emmanuel shoes.
  17. Lilly and London thank you for those ...... Feeling more confident in ordering with feedback and ideas. Is continental different to a normal single mattress?
  18. Thanks for that Gina, I had looked at it on Ikea and was worried that there one might be a bit flimsy (from the picture online), so good to know .... Thanks for all the input,
  19. Thanks for those links belle ... Love the cube in last link, I think I want that for myself! If I can't have a room with a view, I will settle for the cube!
  20. Thanks Sanity .... can i ask you how old your daughter is. I am getting this for my soon to be 7 year old daughter.
  21. Thanks for that Sanity girl - I will look on ebay as well, good idea Clare - i will google izzy wot not - hadnt heard of that brand ....
  22. I want to do my daugthers room this year, and have been looking at cabin beds (mid sleepers) - beds that are raised off the ground, (not the very high ones) and you can have a desk that slides in and out. My daughter has a longish narrow room and this seems like it would free up space for her as we could probably either push a chest of drawers under it, or leave it as space to play under. I wondered if anyone else had bought one of these and could recommend any shops/brands. I have had a good look on the internet, (Ikea, Stompa - which look interesting - but was looking for some recommendations from someone who has one of these. Thanks
  23. I think you are allowed to take milk through Th. When you go through security they make you take a sip of it! Of course this may have changed, but is what I have done previously. Try if possible to book the seat where you get the sleeping bassinet the for your one year old. Really useful. Take lots of snacks! Little cushions also help to get toddlers and yourself comfortable. For the 2 year old I would suggest a lolly or some chewy sweets for take off and landing as the chewing or sucking action helps with sore ears. One year old can feed which also helps! I also pack a bag of tricks, little toys, pens & paper, those post it pads are great to keep them amused when you are waiting for take off, landing. Last time my daughter covered the seat in front of us with post it's! You can usually take your pushchair right up Tull you board the plane which helps with lugging all the stuff!
  24. I have a steam mop, easy to use (like pushing a vacumn cleaner, but lighter). Certainly easier for me than using a mop and bucket! Mine is Vax, but there are many types around. Another (lightweight) option is the Eco mop, really light, with a washable mop bit.
