  1. You could take a photo of it and offer it for free on the Facebook page - Free Stuff South East London - that way someone might come and collect it. If you have your own transport you can take it to the recycling centre of Old Kent Road. Otherwise you can book a pick up with the council and its £30
  2. Thank you for the recommendation - having a quick look at the website and it looks like it could definitely work,.
  3. I'm creating a memory book about a friend who passed away a few years ago for her children. It is going to include a collection of photos from different phases of my friends life as well as some written anecdotes, stories etc to be copied and scanned in. (Then printed for the children) Looking for a website e..g Photobox that might do something like this, that is easy to use? Appreciate any leads or advice on what websites / apps are good to use.
  4. There is a camping ground in Dulwich that you could perhaps camp for a night (sorry I don't know of anyone who needs pet sitting for the night) so thinking of other cheaper options for you
  5. My teen likes to do the Escape Rooms . Southbank always good for walk down, buskers, Tate, Globe etc. You can also go up the Oxo tower if you are feeling rich, have a cocktail (or mocktail) and watch the sun set over the Thames. Old Vic has Sylvia playing if you feel like some theatre, or go and see the movie Rye lane at Peckham Plex for a good overview of our neighbourhood. Shoreditch / Brick Lane - easy to get to and lots of shopping and browsing options. I always love the flower market as well. Take the boat as well on the Thames - its a lovely way to see London as well. Greenwich a good option for something nearer - loads to do there
  6. I left neighbourhood vets after total over charging of medicine (conjunctivitis in one eye for my cat came to over £100). No issue with their actual vets and the charges for that (that is transparent) , but it seems that everything after that is built in. So many little extras done all charged which add up. Many medicines were opened as they gave some drops etc to my cat, with no openness about the cost of these medicines. I googled prices of the medicines they had given me and they were hugely inflated from what I found on websites - I wrote to them expressing this (with pictures of medicines and prices) and got offered £10 of my next visit!! I was also asked why I didn't claim on insurance - I did have insurance (but had an excess) but it seems that they rely on overcharging due to insurance paying. I have not gone back after this as felt very ripped off.
  7. If you contact the BDA (British dyslexia association) they should be able to provide you with name of qualified tutors. https://www.bdadyslexia.org.uk/dyslexia/tutor-list
  8. My wallet was left in Peckham (Rye street) earlier this evening - I have frozen my bankcards (and there was no spending on the cards) - so someone might have handed it in to the police station (it has a drivers lisc in it) - I am online trying to find out if there is a local police office but can't seem to find it. Anyone know of a local police station?
  9. need a toilet seat replaced (have purchased the new seat) - is this something you could do?
  10. HI Maria welcome to the UK - I will keep your details and contact you for any alterations and repairs. I hope you and your son are able to settle and be happy in East Dulwich
  11. Polished (on Northcross rd) pierce with a needle if this is something that interests you - my daughter had her second piercing done there and absolutely no problems
  12. I can highly recommend Nadia who has helped me plant a tree, bushes and create multiple beautiful pots for my decked area. In the last few months she has helped me transform my garden. Nadia has an immense knowledge of plants and has really helped me choose plants as well as helping me tidy up a rather overgrown back part of the garden.
  13. Are you able to do sessions online - I am looking for a tutor for a friend's daughter (lives outside of London) so would need to do online - if this is possible could you message me with prices - many thanks
  14. It seems a pity that the school is not taking the responsibility to make sure clothes don't go to waste (landfill) and arnt used especially if good quality - perhaps the school committee could press the school to allow old stock to be used. in a time of fast fashion, it would be a good way for the school to led on this (rather than make it someone else's problem) I do appreciate that you are trying to solve a problem
  15. Went to the walk in testing site in Peckham (in swimming pool parking lot) - test at 10.30 and results the next day around 11.00.
  16. Does anyone have a recommendation for a tutor who could help my daughter with music theory - she is in Year 9 (secondary school) She is taking music as a GSCE subject, her instrument is ?voice? so she is lacking some of the knowledge around musical theory and could do with some extra support in this area. Happy to do online tutoring.
  17. I went yesterday - book a slot online, very well run.
  18. Would like to add another recommendation for Dave - repaired our wooden decking (some parts of wood had rotted) - managed to do an excellent repair job - also squeezed in two other small jobs that needed doing - will definitely use Dave again -
  19. Nunhead Gardener have a selection of all sizes
  20. I took some excess cardboard boxes last week - there is a designated area to recycle cardboard
  21. I have not been to Vanguard Park, but recently booked a drive in test at Brockwell Park (booked Monday night and got a slot for Tuesday at 10) - results back around 8.00am Wednesday morning. Easy and quick!
  22. Hi Roundtable - my daughter is at Kingsdale, and I agree when you go there for one day it does feel very big! When looking at schools as well I was concerned also about it being too big. But, the size or amount of students is never brought up as an issue with her - you are right as well there?s a large choice of subjects especially as they go to choose for GCSE?s, access to a wide extracurricular activities run by the school (all free) The one good thing about a big school is that allowed a wide pool of possible friends. I have been to a few concerts in The pod , parents evening etc (hall and or atrium) and you get used to the bustle and it actually feels quite vibrant!
  23. As soon as I saw the mothers inc prize I entered immediately!
  24. Wanted to add another recommendation for Niko, who I found from previous recommendations on the forum. He sorted out quite a few plumbing issues for us, helped advise on new fittings for a tap, and completed the jobs promptly. Will use him again for other plumbing jobs.
