  2. There are old U-bend traps that have become clogged. Upland at the South end by the Goodrich School has just had 2 of the traps replaced. Contact Thames Water to investigate is my suggestion
  3. What a lot of plastic waste is being generated. I thought biomass was being used for energy by Veolia. If so, charging for the one thing being put to good use seems... odd.
  4. sorry missed this typo! curb side having loads of trouble with overactive spell check :( :) In fact he's very courteous but masculine not to preclude any and all gestures
  5. An electrician at mine stood curtsied at his van while someone stole from the other side.
  6. no water Upland at the Goodrich School
  7. Which? has an important article on theft of and from keyless cars and here are other articles: https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-tech/101890/how-to-avoid-keyless-theft https://inews.co.uk/essentials/lifestyle/cars/car-news/car-break-ins-rise/ Until the car companies are forced to deal with electronic signal interception.... get a wheel lock
  8. The language described is outrageous. I did not witness this event. We all get packages, it is also outrageous not to help your neighbours. And yes they get left at mine without being collected I have no idea why. I take them to my neighbours. And yes, I have a full life. None of this takes more than one or two minutes. The last time I looked it is officially a season of joy and charity which begins at home. Merry Christmas one and all.
  9. forgive me for asking but... after all of this (above posting and time on your street) exactly why didn't you have the less than 30 seconds needed to take the parcel and put it on the inside of your door? I amend that to 10 seconds You seem to have plenty of time to try to destroy someone's livelihood. Please do not construe this to in any way at all condone improper words or abuse of any sort at all. I take packages all the time for neighbours if I am in which includes on my way out. Have a great xmas which, as we live in an entirely commercial world, relies on the delivery of goods on viciously overcrowded streets. Enjoy ripping me to shreds on my lack of understanding that you are hard done by and need to get back to finding this man to get him reprimanded or, better, fired.
  10. I just put in 4kw and a battery. I already have hot water and another array of photovoltaic. I Cannot imagine it would make your house less likely to sell. And next week I?m having a heat pump installed. During the summer April to October The gas is off and I pay under ?40 a month for electricity. My street is jammed with cars and all the trees are down from disease and the Council refuses to replace them. I don?t think solar panels are what makes our living environment ugly.
  11. No one should solicit at people?s front doors. Use GoFundMe and other methods. I had these young people ring my bell on Upland after dark. Why would I give to people I don?t know and a cause I?ve never heard of. Why would Southwark think this appropriate? I?d be very surprised that they do.
  12. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Because it ticks the box of appearing to engage > the affected population by those wishing to > implement the policy. Yes, that is indeed the reason So why do we not demand a statistical survey whose result we can consider reflective of who we all are What would a statistical survey instead of a referendum for brexit have shown?
  13. My comment here below is general: Statistics. Statistical sampling is a science. A balanced random sample that meets the criteria and reflects the demography of the question being asked. WHY is the idiosy of consultations tolerated in an advanced democracy and an educated population
  14. Anyone know what the amplified drum and music noise is somewhere in the 200?s south end of Upland and St Dunstan?s? Thanks!
  15. I am just about to take a knife to several kilos. But wasn't there a group that made juice and other delicacies?
  16. Is there still a group that collects and transforms apples (or other fruit) that would otherwise rot? Names and contacts?
  17. What the building needs is windows that open. Vast sums have been spent on air conditioning and fans that do not work and take up space. What is needed is windows that crank open at the top of each room. Counting 10 years and the air temperature control in this building has hemoraged money
  18. There are 2 golf clubs Near Dulwich College and Benchley Gardens maybe report to both of them?
  19. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/27/technology/router-fbi-reboot-malware.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=first-column-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news This must be an international issue? As simple as "Off then ON" takes a minute quote: Hoping to thwart a sophisticated malware system linked to Russia that has infected hundreds of thousands of internet routers, the F.B.I. has made an urgent request to anybody with one of the devices: Turn it off, and then turn it back on. The malware is capable of blocking web traffic, collecting information that passes through home and office routers, and disabling the devices entirely, the bureau announced on Friday. A global network of hundreds of thousands of routers is already under the control of the Sofacy Group, the Justice Department said last week. That group, which is also known as A.P.T. 28 and Fancy Bear and believed to be directed by Russia?s military intelligence agency, hacked the Democratic National Committee ahead of the 2016 presidential election, according to American and European intelligence agencies. The F.B.I. has several recommendations for any owner of a small office or home office router. The simplest thing to do is reboot the device, which will temporarily disrupt the malware if it is present. Users are also advised to upgrade the device?s firmware and to select a new secure password. If any remote-management settings are in place, the F.B.I. suggests disabling them.
  20. Hat off to you James. You did this and so much else.
  21. The responses to this are jaw dropping. Since when do residents and contractors have the right to break and soil the public right of way. Paint not on a designated surface is a hazard. No one has the right to force me to watch out for your dogs shit or paint on my shoes or buggy wheels or car tyres for that matter. I don't want an ugly shared space. Litter glass refuse of any sort that makes us poor. Yes, poor isn't money it's a state of mind. Everyone responding to this point. My neighbours it seems.
  22. Expanding on my comment: As I walk the streets of "ED" I see what you championed everywhere. I've lived here long enough to know and appreciate and attribute correctly. You changed the living environment for the better and I am sorry to see you go.
  23. Thank you James for everything you have done. You are a thoughtful leader and excellent politician.
  24. As a candidate for Goose Green Councillor and current East Dulwich Councillor, James, I have attached a photo of one of the Dulwich Baths class studios. The photo shows the history of wasted money in trying to regulate temperature. All the building needs are windows that open in the studios. Instead as the years have gone by money has been spent with no result but frayed tempers and class conflict resulting most recently in the accumulation of comic errors including: huge air-conditioning machines and fans as seen in the picture. The noise of the machines means they are not used during class. Light reflecting film stuck to the windows. The studio temperature remained the same and now it is so dark the lights are on on sunny days. A window has been boarded with a ventilating hole All the rooms need are windows that open. That's it.
