How to store the ever growing bicycle paraphernalia?
mynamehere replied to womanofdulwich's topic in The Lounge
we've got a pole that can hang 2 bikes off the floor. That makes 3 with one on the floor at the bottom. Then wall mounted shelves for helmets and gloves and extras https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ACYBGNTeHvwnGqbJKvFQMV_B5ecYrJ2EUw:1581323412475&q=bike+storage+stands&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjs65niyMbnAhV7QxUIHeF4AHMQsAR6BAgFEAE&biw=1651&bih=1214 -
Does anyone have information about the Dunstand Rd at the Goodrich School rear break-in weekend 1-2 Feb? Full terrasse house so the perp must have entered through the Goodrich School and walked behind a few house before smashing new plate glass and leaving a lot of destruction. Thanks for posting anything that helps other residents

South end of Friern had a loud BREXIT party. And the south end of Dunstans. Two parties both splitting the quiet night with their raucous joy while a few hundred other houses and their occupants kept their council. I?m glad I live in a neighbourhood with almost 73% people forced to remain quiet

Thanks Soylent Green. Goodrich uses Singapore Maths. The weekly worksheet differentiates but seems very ?dry? and some children struggle with the amount of work they are given / asked to memorise from very early years. And parents struggle to deliver as the amount of work and expectation of high achievement is just too much and immediately sets up disappointment for parents and child. From a really young age a child from a family that cannot allocate the time and effort to drilling memory is at a disadvantage. Dulwich Hamlet has no homework at all at the same age. Anyone else happy or not with the way their kids are taught maths? I believe in achievement to be very clear. But the flip side of the same coin is turning Some kids and families off.

I?m interested in your opinions about how your children are being taught maths in their primary schools. Of course schools are results driven. But how are they trying to get results?

Happens to be corner of Upland and Goodrich but the issue is everywhere. A brown bin was used and then "discarded" on the corner of upland and goodrich months ago. Since then it has attracted assorted garbage. So it has long since become a "green" bin. But won't be collected as a green bin and removed as a surplus brown bin. Morning of the 30th August the whole of the area is covered in animal droppings and it stinks. Lucky us that our taxes pay for street cleaning. But why is it that almost no one picks any litter up once it on the street side of their front door. I cleared maybe 70% of the revolting mess up this morning because it revolted me. I saw council workers jog by and educators walk by with their dogs and parents dropping children at the nurseries who all avoided me like an untouchable in a caste system. Is brexit going to make this bad citizenry go away? Hold your hats for a rapid decent to even hotter hell

Interesting article in Guardian on helping newly planted street trees
mynamehere replied to IlonaM's topic in The Lounge
I always have a bowl for waste water in my sink which I empty on a tree of choice. Or it goes on the compost. As well all my gutters water parts of the lawn like roman aqueducts. I wish I could rig the showers to the toilets. -
