  1. You might be better off hiring a company to do it for you. You can get a free blog with wordpress or blogger and such like, but the forums will be harder. You could see if there are any newbie web designers around that will work cheap to build their portfolio.
  2. When I was looking to rent, Bushells were really friendly, and I would have gone with them if I wasn't outbid on the flat I loved. I'm using Haart at the moment, and they're okay. No negatives, but no perks either. I rent near the police station for ?800pcm and the flat is liveable but nothing fancy. You should be able to find something really quite nice on your budget. Be wary of gumtree, but in most cases it's just use common sense with keeping safe. If something seems too good to be true, it is. There do seem to be quite a few places for rent on this forum.

At last some explanation though, I've just been fobbed off for days. Thanks for the update. Hopefully it'll be back up today, my mobile internet allowance is running out fast! [Edit] 13:38 - internet is working now.. but still no tv. This flat has never been so silent, it's spooky!
  4. Grrr they refused to offer me more money off! I can't even afford my bill as it is. Now theyre saying 10pm tomorrow, but i bet thats just another lie. My flat has never been so quiet with no tv or internet. I'm unemployed and cant job hunt without internet, and broke so can't go out far.. I'm utterly bored with nothing to do but clean the flat.
  5. No internet or tv since 2pm Friday, they say it won't be fixed til 9am 8th feb.. but as I've been fobbed off so many times by them saying it'll be fixed in a few hours, or the next day, I don't believe them at all. They've offered me ?5 off my bill, but as I've rang them 4 times now on a 0845 number from my mobile, being put on hold, I've spent way over ?5 just calling them. Luckily I have 3GB allowance on my phone, so made a wifi hotspot. But being at home 24/7 with no tv or internet (I don't have normal tv), has been utterly boring and I'm fed up of being fobbed off by Virgin every time I call. If it's not fixed by 8th feb 9am, some managers are going to be getting an earful!
  6. Thanks guys. I looked on ebay, fake flashing red LEDs are about ?3, so that might be worth a try. And DJKillaQueen I'm loving the mousetrap idea! They ignored the pink leather gloves, bluetooth speaker (althought it was broken), tom tom charger, and two pairs of ballet shoes in my glovebox, obviously they prefer mix tapes and short change.

  8. I only just noticed this morning that my car was broken in to. I took it up to Kwik fit and they said they've seen quite a few like this. The driver door was bent out at the top so they could reach in to open it. The guy must have been pretty annoyed to only find ?3 in my car. But just walking down Melbourne Grove I've seen a couple of door tops not aligned, so I don't know if this happens often around here. My car is 11 years old with no alarm, so I don't know if there is any way to protect it. I hardly use it as it is and it was parked around the corner from my flat, so I only just noticed. There was rain inside so it probably happened early hours yesterday or before. Is there anything I can do to deter them?
  9. It is driving me insane! I've called them a few times now, no offer of compensation, just told it'll be fixed by certain deadlines. On new years eve they said 8pm, granted it came back on at 6pm (my virgin tv wasn't working that day either), but then since then it's been just as bad. Yesterday it was out for most of the day. Today I called again, they said it would be fixed within 24 hours. After reading this thread I don't hold out much hope! I live near ED police station.
