Hello, We called an ambulance this morning for a cyclist who was knocked off his bike at the junction of Melbourne Grove and East Dulwich Grove. It seems quite bad. I don?t believe it was his fault, the car pulled across the road and didn?t see him. We left once the ambulance arrived, but I wanted to put this on here incase anyone knows how to find out if the poor cyclist is okay. Thanks

Hi Ben, Please do keep me posted on this - I have a few Blenheim Orange apple trees on my allotment, which taste fantastic! Not a huge crop this year as the trees are still quite young, but certainly enough to share. R

Very sad indeed. I think the council should pride themselves on replanting trees and creating a better environment for everyone. It happened to me when I lived on Barry Road - tree knocked down and never replaced! Maybe some gorilla planting is the solution.

We had a similar problem while staying in a rental flat on Dunstans Road last summer. After a great deal of investigation I deduced there was a nest somewhere around the gutter/roof. We had bees coming in everyday at that point, my wife even woke up to find one on her hand - which then stung her!

I wanted to post to recommend an amazing hypnobirthing teacher who helped us with the birth of our first child. I was a bit cynical about hypnobirthing before we met Zoe but I now think that it is brilliant and wanted to post to encourage other people to do it. My wife was very worried about giving birth before we saw Zoe. Zoe helped her to feel less anxious and more relaxed. We found the sessions great in preparing us mentally for the birth of our son and they also really helped me to feel part of the process and also to see what I could do to help. We have been considering getting a cat although I am allergic to them. The reason that I posted this on here was to let people know that there seems to be a huge problem (infestation) in the area which is worse than other parts of London according to a reputable pest control company. Also I want to try to get the council to do something about the problem as they surely have a duty to.

We live on a road off Lordship Lane. We had a rat problem a while ago under our house caused by a hole in a main sewage pipe. We spent lots of money on pest control and builders to sort this out. The other night we saw a rat running round the patio outside our back door and last night the same thing happened again. We called a pest control company who sent someone round. He has been involved in rat control on Lordship Lane over the last few weeks. He said there is a huge infestation in shops and restaurants on Lordship Lane. He has been employed by a supermarket to get rid of rats there but he said that the problem is that the rats are living in many restaurant premises so he cannot eradicate them unless he is employed by them. He also said that the rats are trying to find a way into houses which is why they were looking through our patio doors. The rats that we saw left our patio when we scared them off and went next door. This is surely an urgent issue for Southwark Environmental Health. I have a young baby and am now scared of leaving the patio doors open which is a problem in this hot weather. Has anyone else had any rat problems?

Toldyouso I think the point I was trying to make was ultimately to suggest that estate agents contribute to the escalation of rising property prices (how could they not?), along with a number of other factors. I am certainly not suggesting that estate agents are to blame for rising prices, neither am I suggesting that they force people to market their properties at higher prices.

I'm always up for bringing a little bit of Hove to South East London. Perhaps that is where Neil went wrong in last nights Apprentice, if only he had thought of combining the two! He could then have proposed to Lord Sugar a business that mixed an estate agents with a charity shop based on the principal that everytime an agent sells a house the owner can leave behind all there old redundant and unwanted detritus that can then be sold in the shop.

Hi StraferJack, while I agree with the majority of what you say, I am not sure I completely agree with you point about estate agents not pushing prices. While it is true that something is only worth the price someone else is prepared to pay for it, I do have first hand experience of estate agents 'testing' the market and advertising properties above the limit of what has been achieve historically within a particular area or street. Perhaps it is incorrect to suggest that estate agents push prices up, but maybe through thgeir behaviour it is fair to say that this is something estate agents contribute to.
