  1. ...half-way along East Dulwich Road last night (Saturday). If you have lost a jacket and can provide an accurate description of the one I found, please call 07710 325 491 to arrange collection.
  2. Another cloning (yawn) to add to the list: whilst in Somerfield yesterday my debit card wouldn't work at the checkout because I'd mysteriously gone overdrawn, overnight. Turns out that my bank hadn't spotted anything unusual and had authorised several purchases in Canada which more than emptied my account (and within only a few hours of my using the card for regular local stuff, so I couldn't physically have been in Canada unless I'd teleported there. Which I hadn't.). It sounds as though other banks are more on-the-ball as I only ever use the card for supermarket shops or on LL, so the whole being-in-Canada thing was 'unusual activity', but they still didn't block the card till I called them to find out where the money had gone. Sigh. The really irritating thing, of course, is that because it's a debit card rather than a credit card, it's 'real' money that's vanished out of my account, and could take weeks for Barclays to process the refunds, so we'll be living on fresh air till it's sorted. Maybe I should have kept a back-up credit card for just this kind of situation...
  3. Thanks, cazkid. I might also have dropped them walking back to Lordship Lane via Barry Road, Tyrrell Road and Hindmans Road, but think the park is the likeliest place as that's where I was playing with my little boy and our dog, so they must have fallen out of my pocket. If anyone finds them please let me know!
  4. Has anyone found a bunch of keys in Peckham Rye park this afternoon, possibly next to the cafe? Quite a hefty bunch including a Peugeot and a Toyota car key, as well as a couple of house keys - much missed and urgently needed!
  5. Keep the PO in Melbourne Grove, definitely. If it goes, LL will obviously get even busier and at the moment Melbourne Grove is a godsend for those of us who: 1) are freelance or otherwise working from home and without access to an office-based post room 2) often post items larger than a normal letter (and who often rely on being able to do so in order to earn a living) 3) send presents to non-local friends or family, using a cheaper form of delivery than a courier that also offers signature on receipt 4) have active toddlers in tow much of the time and find it difficult to keep said toddler entertained in the LL PO queue for 15 minutes
  6. It's a good idea that he also suggested when he met with the girl's mother after walking her home, so the mother reported it to the police along with both his and the girl's descriptions of the bullies. Unfortunately the victim didn't recognise the group of girls, and said that they'd asked her which school she went to - I can't remember which one he said it is, but it isn't a local school - and she'd, perhaps unwisely, told them (as opposed to their knowing/recognising her and vice versa).
  7. I wonder if they're the same girls recently spotted hanging around Goose Green playground after school? My partner took our 13-month-old up to the swings about a fortnight ago (weekday, around 4.30pm) and was horrified to see a couple of girls (he thought they were probably 15/16 years old, one was a chubby black girl) bullying a younger, solitary girl and asking her for money. He intervened and walked her home but the poor kid was absolutely terrified and said that the chubby girl, who seemed to be the one with the bigger mouth, knew which school she went to and had threatened to get a gun and shoot her. Impossible to allay such fears...
