  1. I am really enjoying reading all your blogs! I have recently started blogging so great to get some tips and advice. My stats are very low at the moment - maybe I need to get a twitter account set up as well? Supergolden88 - Your peanut butter & soy salted caramel millionaire's shortbread look AMAZING!!! If anyone fancies a read pop along... http://housenumber59.wordpress.com/ C x
  2. We stayed in a campsite just outside of Liege, but only got to see the train station (which is pretty impressive!). If we have more time would have loved to explore Liege a bit further, apparently it has fantastic markets. Maybe try lonely planet online?
  3. Hi Mima. I highly recommend stopping over in Belgium, I think as a country it often gets over looked as a holiday destination but is beautiful, clean and the locals are some of the friendliest people I have met. Brussels is lovely and has some great historical landmarks. But if you can fit it in with your route I can?t recommend enough Bruges. Aachen was ok, but not a scratch on Bruges. Just type into Google and have a look. Happy holiday!
  4. Italy, 10 days. Had a long weekend in Milan and then an internal flight to Sorrento. My husband booked the whole thing as a surprise. For us it was perfect, plenty of culture and things to do in Milan then a restful week in Sorrento enjoying beautiful coast and the best food and wine. Bliss!
  5. The Gingerman is very nice, quite intimate and romantic. The food is really good. http://gingermanrestaurant.com/ Hotel du Vin is always safe bet, guaranteed a nice meal and good service. http://www.hotelduvin.com/hotels/brighton/bistro.aspx Or if you?re looking for something more low key the king and I is a fantastic Thai restaurant, really good food and very authentic. http://www.thekingandi-brighton.com/ I have not been there for dinner, but I never go to Brighton without going to this place for brunch. It is amazing. If there is a queue it is worth the wait (and the queue normally goes pretty quick) http://www.bills-website.co.uk/ As for places on route, Arundel is a nice to wander round. The castle and cathedral are interesting if you?re into that sort of thing. I would also recommend Lewes as a nice place to stop. Enjoy!
  6. Where to start... My intention was not to offend people and certainly was not to ?propose that 20,000 people be banned from posting by virtue of their location? Thank you Quids, Pickle and Katie 1997 ? you are right, I was simply just trying to get people?s views on whether they think ED forum (in particular when it comes to selling) be just for people who live in East Dulwich, not implying that I think it should be. Huguenot - ?She's just come onto a chat forum she hardly visits? ? how do you know how often I visit the site? I regularly read the forum but, as you kindly looked up, I do not post that often. I suspect that some of your comments are purely intended to get a reaction from people, but as Quids correctly states this does put off low volume potential posters, myself included.
  7. Gosh, some people are so quick to judge. "this person" being me, simply made a statement that I had notice that not everyone was from ED and posed the question should the forum be just for people who live in ED. At no point did I say that I expect the EDF to be only for those who live in SE22.
  8. When I moved to ED a year and a half ago and discovered the ED forum I thought what a fantastic idea it is, it is a such great way of creating a more neighbourly place to live. I love the ?General ED issues / gossip...? section to keep up to date on what is going on, but the section I use the most is the ?for sale?. I love the idea of one man?s junk is another man?s treasure. Recently I have noticed that not everyone using the buying and selling facilities are from East Dulwich, or even the surrounding areas. Which lead me to ask the question, should the ED forum be just for people who live in East Dulwich? I appreciate that something like this is hard to control, but just wondered what the general consensus is?
  9. This is very true. I used a reference point of Lordship Lane (from either direction). I will be sure to be clearer in future.
  10. far end by Friern Road
  11. Does anyone know what's going on on Upland road? There are police, ambulance and fire engines...
