  1. For not2late and cookie, and others who are looking for a bike shop - have you tried the running shop near the station?
  2. Found this on the planning database - a new spa might have some fitness elements? Planning Information for Application Number 06-AP-2479 Location: 79 Lordship Lane, London, SE22 8EP Proposal: Change of use of vacant building, previously retail into a beauty salon/spa.
  3. If you've got a car drive over the hill between Honor Oak and ED for an amazing view of East Dulwich and the whole of the city of London. Canonbie Road off Honor Oak Road I think is the best one. We were there at midnight on new years eve - was really clear and you could see all the fireworks.
  4. Take her to the mexican restaurant on lordship lane .... or maybe not :)
  5. Fatal accident I'm afraid - schoolgirl was hit by a bus. See discussion in the earlier thread Turning right from East Dulwich Road onto Forest Hill Rd.
  6. How about a bit of a challenge and doing all the SE22 pubs in one crawl? The beerintheevening website lists 15 pubs in SE22, so a half in each shouldn't be out of the question. I would start at the Forest Hill Tavern (incidentally this is the top-rated pub in East Dulwich on Beer in the Evening :-S), then head down the road to the Herne, and then onto the Clockhouse. Cut through from here to the Uplands, and head up Crystal Palace Road to the CPT, the Castle and the Plough. 7 down, 8 to go, so work your way down LL following CrystalClear's list from the post above. 1 more to go, so finish up at the Vale if you are still standing... :)-D If anyone attempts this, please report back on your progress!
  7. I was a member at JAGS for 18 months or so (never used it in the last 9 - but thats more indicative of my approach to health and fitness rather than a reflection of the facilities!). JAGS is really good value for money compared to private gyms - joint membership for 2 is only ?59 a month. The fitness centre has plenty of modern machines and a really cool electronic points system to keep track of your progress. Staff were a bit funny sometimes, and the changing facilities are pretty grim. Pool is lovely but usually full of screaming kids, so not the place for a quiet swim on the weekend. They were happy to give us a guided tour before we signed up - but you have to call in advance.
