  1. Found yesterday evening in Goose Green, Arsenal Gold membership card. Will send back to club if not claimed.
  2. Hi, bit of a strange one, we haven't heard from our cleaner for several weeks and we are concerned about her. Her name is Mara, she's Portuguese, and lives in the Penge area we think. We only have a mobile phone number for her, no other contact details. We believe she has a deaf son and drops children at Dulwich college every morning for another family. If anyone knows who she is could you get in touch please. Many thanks.
  3. There is an Irish section in Tesco in East Dulwich Road. Sells Barry tea, Irish cadburys, Kimberleys, tayto crisps etc.
  4. Taxi leaving East Dulwich at 7am on Sunday morning, 2 spaces if anyone is heading that way (Stansted Express not running). Text me if interested - Al O7894-686-446 (Eds this is probably in the wrong forum - sorry - please move if there is a better place for it)
  5. A ban on people parking commercial work vehicles on these streets?
  6. A cap on number of vehicles per house? (our neighbour has 4 on the street)
  7. Trains running as normal on London Bridge to East Dulwich Line. Had to let first train go as only 2 carriages and packed with people leaving the city early. Reassuring police presence at London Bridge and no cancellations on the board.
  8. ?50 for a cab is about right, you might get ?40 if you phone around, but with a flight to catch (and if your company is paying) then its worth paying for a reliable company. This will usually be the quickest route, about an hour door to door if you are leaving between 5-6am to get an early business flight somewhere. Alternative route via public transport for you from Barry Road is No 12 bus down to Peckham Rye station, train to victoria, tube to paddington, which will take about an hour, not including heathrow express/connect.
  9. stalker alert! ::o
  10. espice stop spamming the forum and go and buy an ad!
  11. Its not knocked off Sky - you can tell by the pint glass logo in the bottom right hand corner of the screen
  12. Called at our house on Friday - Ondine Road - luckily knew from the forum all about him and sent him packing! Should have called the police at the time but was caught unawares. Can we do a photo-fit - does anyone want to volunteer their artist skills?
  13. Curiosity got the better of me and I went last night - successful trip except I got mistaken for a shelf-stacker :( They sell the largest pork pie I have ever seen, loads of cheap booze (hobgoblin xmas ale for 99p a bottle), better brand names than Lidl, lower standard of clientele...
  14. ok, might save that pleasure for another time!
  15. Has anyone ever shopped in Netto on Rye Lane? I heard that it is a good place to bulk buy stuff like nappies, toilet rolls, cans of coke etc. I didnt think it had a car park, so I'm not sure if I go how I am going to get all my bulk buys home - any advice?
  16. used to be le chandelier - 2 up from franklins
  17. wow Mogs - up and posting at before half past five on a sunday morning - respect! (have you just come in from an all-night ballroom warehouse party?) where is this ballroom place - what end of LL?
  18. Jeremy - Jerk Rock has already been snapped up it would seem. What about approaching a traditional cafe - there seem to be too many of these in ED for the needs of the community - I bet one of these institutions will run by a sole proprieter who would be up for retiring if someone offered a way out? The Cafe near the Castle on Crystal Palace Road being a prime example - I have never seen more than one table occupied in there ever!
  19. What about that old fish and chip shop that seems to be used to store old mattresses - its on Whately Street I think, just behind the police station?
  20. That was for everyone who started watching phoenix nights from season two ;-) "It's a family fun day man, there's kiddies running around. They can't go jumping up and down on a love length."
  21. how much was it Andyng?
  22. Ok, now I get it - East Dulwich is north of North Dulwich, and West Dulwich is south of North Dulwich. Sorted :))
  23. Cracking debate. Tazzi you have been very quiet since raising the issue - could you be the owner of Greetings by any chance?
  24. You are making sense Georgia, people have found the forum at different times, and the last thing those who have been here a whie longer than others should feel is guilty for being here. No-one should have to apologise for the fact that the forum has been running for a while, and in those weeks and months friendships have been made, topics have been discussed and rediscussed, and in-jokes or in-references have emerged. Sorry newbies, but the same rules apply on the net as they do in real life - if a group of your friends are down the pub, and you arrive 3 hours after everyone else, you're no less welcome, but you'll just have to catch up on the missed banter and make sure the next 3 hours are just as interesting!
  25. Nothing mahjor to add here - but I will be starting this very same commute at the end of the month so is very useful and timely. Mark I hope the new job is going well. Will road-test (and rail-test I guess) the 63 and the train via tulse hill option in the coming weeks - will be good when the trains start accepting the pre-pay oyster cards so that I can go whichever way I feel like in the morning. Does anyone know if there is a date for that happening?
