I live literately opposite Goodrich School and its fine. pick up and drop offs are busy but like someone said above its lovely and gives a bit of life to the street! Evenings are quiet with regards to the school.

check the Dulwich Library - I used to take my baby to music group there. it was very good.

I had a bad experience with the Lanes at both before and after care. My midwife could not even be bothered to turn up for the birth! That was my first 4 years ago. I called them for this second baby (due June) and they were so rude on the phone I ended up in tears. Highly unprofessional and rude. I'm now at Kings with their midwives who are fantastic.

i called yesterday as was referred back to my GP (DMC) from the Perinatal care at Kings. First appointment available EVEN though i'm pregnant is 8th Jan. Seriously. Its ridiculous.

Does anyone know of anything happening for toddlers for Halloween this year in the area?

i cycled for a year from Playfied Crescent to Moorgate before being knocked down by a car on a cycle route and ended up in hospital. Unfortunately not been able to get back on a bike. it is dangerous and the helmet i was wearing saved me. Wear a helmet and good luck. I really enjoyed it while i did it and it is a great form of excercise.

that would be my home address so no. I would not put my home address on there. Instead it had my email address, my phone number and a link direct to an e-version of the brochure. I will post again tonight. I've had no problem on other forums. thanks anyway.

there is a search function at the top of your twitter page so you can search specific things. There is also an option that is Discover - if you click on this the left hand side has stories/activity and who to follow - you can just have browse and start following whoever takes your fancy.

i use FB for friends and family overseas (NZ/Chile/States and Asia) other than that not much. I LOVE twitter - on there everyday - use it as a tool for information (more up to date than the actual news), follow sports, a lot of mum/child blogs and i've made a lot of friends too. I've won a lot off twitter too. It has been invaluable for advice on a toddler aswell as I don't have any family around me and have a lot of time just on my own with my daughter. i#ve been using it for about 3 years now but using it pretty much a lot over the last year.

she is brilliant. and makes mean brownies that you can order on-line for delivery. definitely take a look I've tried quite a few of her recipes.

my friend has been (mum is kiwi, dad is italian) and apparently its great fun. i've not made it yet but should as daugher has maori name!! other half is kiwi i'm chilean. he also makes a MEAN bacon and egg pie - i'm off to see if he'll make one!!!

Someone is holding a party and playing music SO loud I can sing along! I wouldn't mind but what with the film crew earlier waking my daughter up and now this? Does anyone know where it is? Or who is holding it? Still very loud. I'm next to Goodrich School but this I don't think is near here? Just very loud (feel like a golden oldie now!)

Hi - I was wondering if any seasoned parents can advise me - my daughter is just over 3 years old and loves to read. She will sit and read to me i.e. tell me what she is seeing in the book. I feel like I could now take it up a notch and teach her letters and words but I am just not sure how to teach her to read - any suggestions would be greatly received. This is my first child and we don't have any family around (or I would have asked them!). Thanks in advance

I just called to get an appointment at DMC Crystal Palace Road and the earliest appointment given to me is Feb 6th. Shocking. She did advise to turn up at the surgery at 8am in the morning and that i would be given an appointment. That would mean taking a day off work. no can do. Terrible.

I have given up with DMC - i'm always given more than 2 weeks waiting - atrocious but trying to argue with them or get a quicker appointment is pointless. I've even turned up at 8am before to try to get an appointment. Useless.
