  2. The Cherry Tree management were quick enough to join in the discussion about having children in the pub. No reason why they couldn't jump on here either? And this is a forum. Some people maybe can't let off steam elsewhere. Its what its for!

  15. definately existing on Friern Road - it was in the back garden of my last flat and in my neighbours. My flat was rented and we passed the message onto the landlord. He didn't do anything about it. buy my neighbours treated theirs.
  16. can anyone recommend any netball after school/weekends at all for a 6 year old?
  17. Bet01 - only joking (slightly) - i have a 6 year old and a 20 month old baby. i work full time as does partner. its a case of seeing what works i think. as my partner works in restaurant/bar - he does main childcare in mornings - get daughter ready for school, school drop off. Collect daughter at 3.30pm. Has son during week. Son is in nursery Thurs and Fridays so that partner can fit his shifts in. I work west end so have to manage with work in getting back sometimes by 5pm normally by 545pm so partner can get to work. When we get stuck i used to have a couple of babysitters i could call. This is no longer the case so I will now be advertising again for some childcare. its always good to have seen a couple incase you get stuck. I sometimes have to ask daughters school friends to have her - not ideal but would offer back. Occasionally I would have to work from home which would mean getting up at like 5am to get work done before son is awake as at 20 months he is full on. I would have preferred the childminder option but its just not workable for us at the moment. It might be worth advertising now. Last year we used an au pair on her days off. Good luck and keep us posted!
  18. I took my daughter to our scan - she was 4 years old and was pretty good about it. she did start to get fidgety but the nurses were quite understanding. this was at kings.
  19. and she may not be a nanny.. what an awful post.
  20. yes - just this last week! my daughter (now 6) also suffered from them. The NHS website had some useful information. and i am in a mothers group on FB and their advice was very useful - as in its very common - they are asleep - just ensure they don't hurt themselves (if thrashing about) and it will pass. My son (19 months) had it for 4 nights on the trot last week so very little sleep was had by me. i found it hard being unable to comfort him but after a while after screaming he called me and i could hold him. The best thing to do is to either get the light on to bring them out of the deep sleep or take them into a room that is lit and see if that helps. once awake they fall back asleep quite quickly and should (touch wood) not get it again.. that night. One friend her son had it so severe she just had to walk him round the rooms with all the lights on till he came to. Good luck... i hate it but the next day he was fine each time. it was just me that was traumatised!!!
  21. i've PM'd you - i might be able to help.
  22. Pickle - excellent idea to keep a travel diary. I will use that I think.
