Forest Hill Road Practice - in Meltdown ?
HOMum replied to George Orwell's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
As a contrast, my husband called in at 8am this morning with a sty which we expected had turned in to a pretty nasty eye infection - he was offered an appointment at 2pm today, was given some strong antibiotics and is off to the eye hospital tomorrow for another check up. Pretty good service we think. The NHS is struggling because so many people go to the doctors when they could go to the chemist/go to the hospital when they could go to the doctors etc. I wouldn't say it's in meltdown, but what you have experienced isn't good enough, I agree. -

I am due my second at the end of January, my first is 4. Would love to meet up, but also work full time. -
I wouldn't mind the luxury of baby no 2, but it seems my body has other ideas and my first child is 4 in the Summer. I guess whatever is meant to be is meant to be. While I don't think this thread means any harm and I appreciate it is a light hearted chat over an open forum it makes a hard read for people dreaming for just their first or second baby to come along.

Personally I think only you know your child. I know my child is ready it doesn't really matter what some statistics say, not every child born in summer doesn't go on to succeed, you just have to do what feels right for you. I knew I could defer for a year and stay on at nursery if we wanted to, just don't see it making any difference in the whole scheme of things (for my child). My friends boy on the other hand just wouldn't cope so it is very much a personal choice based on a your child alone.

My child is August born 2010, I know she will be the youngest in her class, although I doubt anyone else could guess! She can't wait for school and so she will go and I am sure thrive. I feel no need to hold her back whatsoever - how does anyone know that holding them back a year won't be detrimental to them?

Asquith nursery Peckham Rye - experiences of baby room?

Roxr - pretty much could have written this myself! We took our daughter out after 10 months of deteriorating issues and lots of mishaps like you describe. -
We were there just over nine months and pulled our daughter out as soon as we could. Lots of little incidents followed by a fairly major one (in our opinion) feel free to pm if you like. I definitely would not recommend and would totally agree that the management is not great and when my child attended there were numerous staffing issues. Alarm bells rang for us too and we couldn't be happier with our decision to pull our child out, I got to the point where I really didn't feel comfortable leaving her in the building.

I had mine in 2010 I was told a minimum of 48 hours, had her 11am Monday was out 2pm Wednesday!
