Another big thank you to Evans Cycles..... Rear mudguard bracket (mudguard bridge) snapped and I popped into Evans Cycles. Bike mechanic helped me out. The clip was not a stock item but he looked in a few places and found one for me. Would not accept payment for the item which was brilliant. New bracket now on bike - fitted perfectly! Graham

Doctors appointments at Forest Hill Group Practice
GrahamP replied to Lemmy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I visited the surgery last week having been asked to collect routine blood test forms. One usual test was not included which I queried. Despite standing in front of the receptionist I was told to go away and do an e-consult. On that afternoon the place was almost like the Mary Celeste. -

Check the expansion vessel pressure and top up if required. (The check should be part of the service procedure) For more info, Google - central heating expansion vessel pressure

New e-vecicle charging points on Townley Road

I pass there quite often and see they are now lit up and, I assume, ready for use. Has anyone seen them actually being used yet? -
Heard there is also a shortage Taramasalata too. Are we entering a double dip recession?

Hi Apbremer, There is a flaw in your logic regarding relative humidity inside and outside. I assume that the air outside is colder than inside your house. Cold air can contain less moisture than warm air - hence condensation when moist, warm air meets a cold window. It is probable that cold air outside at 85% humidity contains less water than warm air inside at 75% humidity. The cold air enters your house, you warm it up with heating and it becomes less humid. Graham Edits - I put some figures into a calculator on this web page :- https://www.aqua-calc.com/calculate/humidity I assumed inside temp is 20 Centigrade and outside is 10 Centigrade. Actual water contents given in grams per Kilogram of air - 85% relative humidity at 10 C -- 6.5 g/Kg 75% relative humidity at 20 C -- 11.0 g/Kg If the outside air is warmed up to 20 C the relative humidity drops to 45% and therefore feels dryer. Further edit... oops... just noticed how old this thread is ... more wasted time.

Would you like to take up sailing this year? I am a member of Hoo Ness Yacht Club based on the river Medway. It is a friendly, self help club and is one of the closest sailing bases from East Dulwich. The club is recruiting new members and if you are interested please get more information from the club web site at www.hooness.org.uk This weekend - Saturday March 2nd - a RYA Day Skipper Course is starting. If you are interested in a place please contact me via pm. The RYA VHF radio course and Essential Navigation and Seamanship course are also planned for this year. On the Sunday club members will be gathering for a work party, looking after the clubhouse and grounds. It is a good time to visit the club, meet members and check out the facilities. If you are new to sailing, the club arranges crewing with other members - you don't have to be a boat owner! The club web site has plenty of information to get you started and I'm happy to answer any questions. Graham

The Henry that you have purchased runs on 110 volts as used on building sites. You would need a step down transformer in order for it to be used with 240 volt mains. eg https://www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/site-transformers/cat830094 The transformers are heavy. I would change to the 240 volt Henry for domestic use. Did the Ebay listing state that it was 110 volt? Graham

I think they drop the bands to enable them to find their way back to the sorting office.

Johnie, If I was having difficulty finding a replacement I would attempt to solder fine wires to the component. If that worked I'd put a blob of epoxy resin on top to hold things together. Graham

Which make/model of boiler is it? Note: The "filling loop" may have two valves that have to be opened together to top up the central heating water system.
