  1. Carl Cooper's comments are worthless and written deliberately to insult. I wouldn't waste my time.
  2. "I'm sure it is - but PECKHAM ? Is a good coffee worth being shanked for ? is a nice biscotti an acceptable prelude to a drive by shooting by crack addled hoodies out joyriding and looking to sate their SE15 bloodlust ? lets keep this ED please. we dont want any of that SE 15 stuff innit bludz." I live in East Dulwich and I do not appreciate this comment at all. I wander into Peckham practically every weekend, and I've come across many really nice people. Let's not be like the readers of the Daily Mail, and put everyone into the same sack, unless of course you are one, and frankly that would explain a comment such as this.
  3. There's a pancake stall on Hampstead High Street, with a varied and lengthy menu and on weekends there are queues of people waiting to order all day long. If it works there, it could work in East Dulwich. A community veg stall would be good too. I haven't joined the local greens system as I don't think I could use up all the veg in a week, so having another alternative would be handy.
  4. The 12 goes up Dog Kennel Hill, passes King College Hospital. I've got it a couple of times in the last week, but this morning the driver wouldn't let anyone off as he said he was on a 2 mile diversion and couldn't stop until he got to a certain point (probably where the 12 normally meets Camberwell). We persuaded him to let us off at Denmark Hill!
  5. I had the same problem recently with a very fast swimmer in the slow lane.
  6. I came onto the Forum just now to ask if anyone had heard that rioting had started in Camberwell. I work on Denmark Hill and a colleague has just mentioned this and that it is closed off. One of our security people went to the area and confirmed that it is true enough.
  7. Will do. Thanks, James
  8. Had a swim Sunday morning, and the water was so hot, it was like a sauna and not at all refreshing. The whole building was too hot.
  9. Thanks, but I would like a bit more information than "good stats". Maybe James can help.
  10. What are the stats for East Dulwich Road where it joins Peckham Rye?
  11. I found the gym very hot when I used it early morning the other week. It was a warm day but it would be good to have some air. I used the pool on a regular basis and have the same complaint as a previous thread, the women's changing space needs to be more regularly cleaned/mopped up.
  12. Dr Johnson at Melbourne Grove retired recently. I've been with them for a couple of years now and never had any complaint either with the reception staff, GPs or any other member of staff.
  13. The Co-op is the best store in East Dulwich? Are you kidding? I've been in it twice and would never go back and the Forest Hill Road shop is dire.
  14. Overall, I think it is a good pool and the temperature is ok. Environment is a bit chilly after getting out the water, but that is normal. What does bother me is the sopping wet floors in the female changing room. They aren't cleaned up often enough.
  15. This Buddha person, apart from being inaptly named, sounds rather a snob and making a mountain out of a molehill. If the individuals at this establishment were not refugees and somewhat down and out, would the attitude be the same.
  16. Does The Administrator have a speech impediment.
  17. I've been with this surgery since September 2009 and never had a problem either with a doctor or any other member of the staff.
  18. Either one. Locally on Lordship Lane near to the Goose Green area there are no decent, smaller supermarkets. I don't count Co-op or Iceland as decent.
  19. Is there a subtlety here that I am missing?
  20. Jo Brand was in front of me a week past Friday in the Sainsbury queue.
