  1. Fwiw my first (shared) place in Dulwich was a beautiful flat on the croxted/park hall crossroads. Absolutely huge, with a curtain shop below; very quiet. Townley is right about the mortgage tho.
  2. Mexican is good/easy. Burritos or enchiladas with quack salad sour cream tortillas salsa tequila mmmmmm
  3. Amazing service from Kings for our family. (and unlurked in 'continuing to talk shit' shocker.....)
  4. Here we go again..... :(
  5. Dave Mustaine.
  6. unlurked is right.
  7. You wont find a 2 bed for 350k round here though will you... Arse end of Peckham or the bit between ED and FH maybe, but it wont be pretty. Its nuts.
  8. The first rule of supper club is.... Sounds great, and good luck...
  9. "Lije people are actually doing it on purpose." Quite a lot wrong with what you've written there. Sometimes riders get themselves into dangerous situations yes... but more often it's just bad driving due to lack of concentration/tirdeness or on-your-phone-itus; those are choices people make that most drivers wouldn't, so they are actually purposeful. Lady D is spot on; "lethal machinery" is a good description.
  10. Unlurked moaning bout stuff a bit more?? :)
  11. No Twirly, I'm skint myself and I can't fathom the numbers either. 2% of what? People who live in central London and may be making a killing in banking/media/whatever is that? Or do you mean the whole country......
  12. If I had 1k to spend I'd look at a Mac with Logic and a weighted keyboard (from gumtree) plugged into a hi-fi. Far better sound quality and many more options if your son/daughter wants to go further.
  13. 100k between two successful pro's is not unusual really, and if either have owned property over the last ten years the deposit may will be there. Mega apartments and nice houses north of the river go for a lot more than a terrace in ED.
  14. Work being done inside the shop looked pretty high quality to me. Liking the bird painting outside also. Get a grip, people....
  15. Brilliant shot. There was even more of a pea-souper this afternoon over the Rye about 4.
  16. For me Lausanne road going onto Queens road turning right. Barry road is dodgy: its the junctions that make it bad.
  17. "Don't be ridiculous-if there was light your two yr old kid wouldn't have got dog shit over it! Nothing to do with council lighting, more to do with bad parenting." That all makes sense :) (you muppet)
  18. How about unlurked go back to troll school as she's pretty low quality for a troll; We could meet on the rye and discuss it if you like? The dogshit my 2 year old son got all over himself could have blinded him (toxocariasis) and maybe the lights being on might have let me see said shit. Thanks James.
  19. Hi James, pretty minor request but.... The lights across the Rye from Roy Brooks to Somerton road are really useful now the days are so short, but the one next to the round caf? has been out for ages and that creates a really dark area right in the middle of the park. Any chance of contacting those who fix this?
  20. Spot on mlteenie.
  21. I'm on the Rye most days with my toddler. Generally I find most dogs are fine and haven't had anything at all threatening in the last 2 years of doing this. Owners who leave their dogs crap behind, on the other hand, make my blood boil. Just saw a youngish woman walking a black staffie on lead and a big, tan coloured bull terrier let the big one do a huge crap outside the flats at the Nunhead lane and Peckham Rye junction. She stood and watched, then just walked off when the dog was done. Has anyone ever been fined for doing this?
  22. Same as Henry, I have been living and cycling in London for decades now and have never seen any sort of collision on the pavement. Maybe I'm lucky, but I think the problem is far worse in peoples heads than in reality. On the other hand, I have to keep very alert riding to work as I have near misses on an almost weekly basis. The majority of these are pedestrians stepping out into the road while they are on their phone.
  23. Stacey-Lyn, I have been living right next to the church on Carden road for several years now. They never cause me any bother. There isn't really any more litter after a service, none more than you'd see in any other street locally... There aren't even any driveways on Carden road to block. Sometimes people stop outside my flat talking for ten mins or so, but not hoards of kids screaming around like you say. Noise levels aren't that bad really, and they only have proper services twice a week, Sunday and Tuesday night. Live and let live, I say....
