Hello! we are looking for someone who might be interested in some ad-hoc babysitting. Hours we might sometimes need are morning school runs from 7 or 8am, dropping the kids at school by 9am. And then after school from either 4:30 or 3:20 (depending on the day) until about 7 or 8pm. Does anyone know anyone who might be interested? No long term commitment expected! Just someone local who might be up for some extra income.

East Dulwich Painting/Decorating Services Offered
landellsrd replied to ED Decorator's topic in Reviews
Hi I also wanted to put up a recommendation for Jon, he painted almost our whole house in the summer... He was great! Quality of work was great, Jon was a nice guy, reliable, hard working and reasonably priced. What I also liked about him was he was good at recommending what types of paint we should use on which bits, just was all around knowledgeable about painting, and he went and got the paint for us etc so the whole thing was hassle free. We are looking forward to getting Jon to paint our front room in a few weeks. -
Hilarious!! 😸

Lame window cleaning scam - Goose Green area
landellsrd replied to se22cat's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Entirely possible he got the wrong house? We used to have our windows cleaned by a family team who would clean them at some point and pop the note through saying they?d been done and the very nice older chap would come round in the evenings to collect payment. -

The Begging Bowl?s Kickstarter Campaign

Every time I?ve eaten there the food?s been amazing! Kickstarter is not just for new businesses and Kickstarter completely approved this campaign. Check out the rewards on offer, you might surprise yourself... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1037748257/the-begging-bowl-kickstarter-campaign-modern-thai -
The Begging Bowl?s Kickstarter Campaign

By the way guys it?s not a ?donation? have a look at the link, you can buy cocktails and bar snacks for two at ?20, a Thai cooking class for ?50, dinner for 10 for ?500 - there are Kids Group Cooking classes, a Cocktail Tasting session etc etc. Most things are ?20-?50 with a few big ticket items. You get something in return for your money, IF they make their target. The B.B. have arguably helped kick off the foodie scene in Peckham, they regularly get reviewed fondly in the press which in turn helps all the businesses in the area... if you?d like to contribute and be part of it, check out the link below. There are some great treats and experiences on offer and it?s gone live today. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1037748257/the-begging-bowl-kickstarter-campaign-modern-thai -

I don?t ?prefer to come across as an unrelated party!?? I know Jane, I like the BB, I didn?t intend to seem shifty- I thought that by writing that I wasn?t asked to post this (because I was not) that it actually implied that I know the people who work there. There is not some consirpacy - repeat - there is no conspiracy. As you were! 😃 -

Nobody asked me to post about the Kickstarter, I put this up with the best of intentions, I love eating at The BB, I love Peckham and I know they need some help - If we support local businesses who are we going to support? Peckham and ED is a great, diverse place to live and I think all the independents make it special. XX Peace! -

I don't know because I don't follow every post on the EDF but way to slander a local business! I know the head chef very well and she wouldnt do that. -
Hello- I?ve not been asked by The BB but I?m such a huge fan and mostly I want them to achieve their goal so that I can enjoy Begging Bowl takeaway whenever I want!! Jane has worked very hard over the years with no investors and they want to expand the restaurant and kitchen and be able to offer Thai cooking courses, a new cocktail bar and Takeaway/ Delivery!!!! How amazing would that be. Our area has turned into a bit of a foodie haven and The BB is a big part of that- they aren?t asking for just donations, you can buy an experience so pls sign up to receive the email, it seems weird but you can?t contribute until the Kickstarter goes live on October 8th so sign up for the email to support local innovative business!!! Click the link below to watch the Kickstarter Video for all the info!!

Herne Tavern pub garden planning application
landellsrd replied to Ollie4sam's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
so has this gone through then? anybody know the timescale? -
I second/ third/ fourth the vote for Peckham Rye versus Lordship Lane. More space, more parking, bigger gardens and frequent buses to Rye lane with great transport links to all of london (east, central, tube network) and I prefer shops and cool cafes in Peckham. Finally, walking to Lordship Lane is about 15 mins and you've got the.best of both worlds! We live top of P Rye park and love it.

Herne Tavern pub garden planning application
landellsrd replied to Ollie4sam's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've just registered my objection on the Southwark planning site and it is easy to do so using the Link at the top of this page. Reading some of the objections I came across this gem by an eagle eyed observer: "I am very concerned by the Developers' comments in Section 2.10 of the Planning statement where they refer to "future occupiers of the flats". Is this a simple typo or are they putting forward false plans for a family home, with a clear intention to later adapt into multiple flats for even further profit to the detriment of the neighbourhood?" All I can say is, I will not be surprised if that comes to pass. It's almost an unsellable house as is, a 5 bed family home with no garden overlooking a pub? Somehow I doubt there will be a queue of families with young children eager to buy. -

This would be a great idea! Any news since this was last brought up 5 years ago? -
I don't mind older kids trick or treating but - no costumes, no candy!!! It's Halloween you have to dress up!

Potager?! anyone know if / when its opening?!
landellsrd replied to CJMAHER's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have found they've always been friendly and I wanted to support this shop too, but I found the veg to be not that impressive and the coffee to be.. not good. I would really get behind them if they could manage a good coffee. Aren't there barista specialists who you can hire to come in and figure out the coffee for you? I also bought the bread and haven't been in lately so didn't know they had stopped. Also it's very dark at the back of the shop, maybe some better lighting back there and the produce needs to be fresh and different/original for me to pay those prices. Hopefully they can get it off the ground! -
My other half bought something from the duster seller the other day. He told my OH he'd just got out of prison and couldn't get a job... Is it really just a scam? We felt really sorry for the guy. He was clean cut, young, English..? Seems an odd guy to be slaving under a 'gang master?'
