  2. I hope the 20% vat goes directly to the horrendously underfunded state schools and state funded nurserys. Boy do they need the money! The Conservative government has destroyed schools and the NHS by underfunding them for too long
  3. Hi, Does anyone know how I delete my old posts for things I've sold? Thanks
  4. Hi all, Did anyone witness a car hitting a parked car on the corner of Roy brooks this evening (03 Dec). Some time between 8.30pm and midnight? Someone's hit my car and driven off and obviously I would be keen to find out who. Any hints or clues etc would be really appreciated. At the moment don't know it its a write off but it's been moved at least a metre from where it was originally parked! If you know anyone drinking in the pub or just someone could've been walking by could you ask too? Thanks all for any help
  5. I agree with all you guys. Its ridiculous, theres a recycling centre on old kent road and just off walworth rd. When we redecorated our bathroom the council picked up our old bath, sink and toilet for free and really quickly too! Just wait until i get my hands on these people!!!
  6. A Single Mattress, Divan bed and Drawer unit was dumped on Ondine Road during broad daylight yesterday between 10am-3pm. Did anyone see who it was? / What company it was? etc? Im guessing it was likey to be more that one person and probably with a van. Any help with finding the culprit would be useful. Thanks
  7. Hi all, I was driving down crystal palace road about 25mins ago - as you may know its a relatively busy road, but there was just about enough snow falling to cover the car tracks. Had a small loss of grip as I hit the top end near lordship lane. I drove home via lordship lane which was absolutely fine. Snow is still pretty heavy out there though.
  8. Just to update, I have emailed Southwark council regarding this issue but the (non emergency) police couldnt do anything for dog on dog attacks. I never mind dogs saying 'hello' to each other, even a bit of growling I would just put down to dogs being dogs and usually we'd walk on. Unfortunately this time we were being chased and things got more serious than a growl I agree that its often to do with the owners of the dogs rather than the dogs themselves. I disagree though that off-lead is a bad thing, as it depends on how well behaved/controlled the dog is. I admit that late at night when there's very few people around I sometimes walk our dog off-lead the whole way to goose green and home. But im certain that I can get him to stop before crossing roads, he never strays further that a metre of two from us and we can put him on lead if we see any situations where we would need him to be under close control.
  9. When I used to work near Farringdon I cycled everyday. Though it seems like we are surrounded with dangerous roads. It was always a choice of Elephant and castle or Old kent Rd routes... I know people who are put off by this... Good idea Jon!
  10. Sorry, I was just checking dog breeds online to make sure I had the facts correct and it was a Rottweiler not a Doberman.
  11. Just a warning really... Was out walking my dog this morning in Goose Green. On the way home, I noticed two dogs walking down the middle of Adys Road (junction of Ondine Road) with the presumed owner walking on the pavement. The dogs were a Doberman and Staffordshire Bull Terrier (?), neither on a lead and the Doberman definitely didn't have a collar. As dogs do, they say hello which then turned into a growl so I pulled my dog away. As we were walked off, the Doberman ran after us (not in a playful way) and the owner tried to restrain it (e.g. hugging it as the dog had no collar). This happened a couple of times as the Doberman kept on breaking loose and was trying to attack my dog as we were walking away. The owner didn't say anything throughout all of this and the other dog - Staffie - didn't seem to be a problem, it was just running around. On returning home, I've discovered that my dog has three gashes on its behind. We're unsure if they are scratches or bites but it must have been whilst we were walking away and the Doberman was attacking from behind. The injuries are deep enough to draw blood, but not so deep for blood to be running out. Descriptions Presumed owner: Black male, long dreads wrapped on his head in head wrap, approx 5'9", slim. Doberman: Black and brown, 2.5-3' tall. Other dog: Dark colour. I know Goose Green is loved by dog owners and don't want this to happen to anyone else. I haven't seen the dogs before so please beware if you come across them. Incident happened about 7.45am.
  12. I've just put in my '5 pence' worth in the questionnaire wholly rejecting the CPZ.
  13. I always get concerned when they decide to make the road the same height at the pavement. This means that if someone decided to drive too fast round that corner and lose control - mounting the kerb and hitting a pedestrian is going to be far too easy to do.
  14. My post was meant for the post office on lordship lane. I was at the sorting office Weds night to pick something up and despite the icy conditions (and me slipping and sliding all over the place with my inept trainers) all the way up silvester road. I found that they were open. Couldnt say for the yesterday or today though im afraid.
