  1. BTW, Frogs taste like chicken! Toads taste like gritty roads, Just don't try me! Toad TLT
  2. WeeGee, a super eve, and the house was good to return too! Using daughters I-Pad and fingers every where! Me thinks will set a challenge to EDF. Well done! Toad!
  3. OMG, being thrown over walls, battered and cooked, a straw stuck up my other end, and now..... licking my back - Taxi! TLT
  4. Toad speaks: Toad & Mrs Toad will be there for c.8pm-ish (Toad Hall is being use for the daughters 17th Birthday party - feels like she was a tadpole only yesterday). We only know a couple of you guys, Ms Mock, Hibbs and Katie..... See you there! TLT
  5. Judging by the comments above, I'm moving out of E'Dulwich - I dare not even look at the You Tube link. Toad! BTW, it took me ages to get from one garden to another, only to be picked up and thrown back there again.
  6. Using a 'Starting Point' is an automatic action by us all - and starts at 50-50. 1. When you cycle through a GREEN traffic light at a 4-way junction you are pretty certain you will not be hit by a car (on your Left or Right hand side) as they are at a RED light. But what stops them, as a RED light is purely a symbolic function? 2. However, the same set of lights, a pedestrian crossing when the green man appears (and I don't mean from Mars) stands a greater chance of being hit by a cyclist, yet..... its the same symbolic function? Unfortunately, more incidents with cyclist will help with this measurement of uncertainty. TLT
  7. Hmmmmm, The individual walked towards the group, with everyone standing back smiling and happy to prohibit obstruction; then having walked 20m... decided to come back to the group and proceed to moan even though a genuine apology was provided albeit not really needed ** thats an English thing me thinks **. This is a path 4-times wider than a pavement. Replace the small jogging group with local mothers and prams having a chat, or the many football groups seeking sanctuary on the path to swap boots for trainers, or even the local Thai Chi group that use the path outside the caf?. This person was clearly having a bad day and looking to take it out on any object in 'it's' way. The Rye is a fantastic place for the community, blessed with different forms of activities, young, not so young and full of different abilities. Bottom line, 'don't sweat the small stuff in life!' ( The toad leaps from the pond life and seeks sanctuary below water level!) TLT
  8. The toad was recently asked by a scientist: ?How do you measure uncertainty?? I responded with ?fixed and variables?. This is an everyday question we ask ourselves to quantify the day ahead, our security, through to our future plans. She then expanded and said that this is a question she askes Ministers when they consided new plans..... How do you measure uncertainty? TLT
  9. Hi James, The toad wonders how many cycle accidents are caused by wet drain / manhole covers? A simple solution would be to have the drain surface partially covered with tarmac (also coloured perhaps?), so bikes and motorbikes do not slip when travelling on or around corners? I commute by both cycle and motorbike to and from toad hall with so many near accidents. The solution is like a paperclip, a really simple remedy. Further, I also agree with a good safe distance when parking away from corners. Best, TLT
  10. Siousx & Polly do reflect true emotions - us guys & toads do bottle things up! I had 6-guys on me 25-years ago which resulted in stab wounds and my best white top resulting in red, it took me 15-years to wear another white top. Like I say, there will be CID eye's outside looking for dudes and the same or similar MO. These guys have a zero base value, and you can be assured that they will be inside in the next year for this or a similar crime. PAMF (Punk Arse MF) TLT
  11. Hi Mr Ben, I've never met you before but you sure have a supportive following. These nuts would have been tooled up so rather than escalating the mugging you did the right thing. Your excellent descriptions will be circulated locally, the CID team will be looking for this type of MO. Hope you patch up well and feel better soon. TLT (not to be mistaken for TLC :-))
  12. The Toad agrees with Lou, 'Select a Door' in Penge, opp the police station. Just a terrible thing to happen, it's an abusive invasion of your property and life - so I'm extremely sorry for you. There is alot of good advice above, but I would also stress to chubb the door at night, and keep your keys out of sight but accessible incase you need to exit quickly. This is perhaps the most terrifying type of burglary, and the really professional ones will just take one or two things and close the door behind so you don't know anything has happened. TLT
  13. Flyovers such as the Hammersmith flyover! Please.... put the scotch down and re-read it - riddit! Toad
  14. Cooking / Baking Other than Frogs legs, what do you like to cook or bake that EDF would benefit from? Recently, the Toad has met a chap who likes to cook a lamb over many hours for a perfect result. Also, a lady who likes baking batches of bread! Please comment..... and mulled-wine too. The Toad has fun with cloves and real chillies, so the wine is hot, and it just gets hotter! The Toad!
  15. Toad puts articles outside the hall often which are collected and put to good use. In fact, Spiderman came by the other day.... I guess he heard about it on the web?! My observation is that you have taken a numberplate into the public domain and suggested that a crime has taken place - ouch! It may or may not have - currently its hearsay. 999 would have resulted in an immediate CAD call (as per CharlieBrown's correct comments) and your goods could have stood a 50/50 chance of return. Nonetheless, it would have been logged. Next time you are putting wood outside, please PM me as I use it for the open fire - seriously, no kidding - it beats paying for wood at the local garage! Best, The Lying Toad!
  16. The Toad speaks: Do you know any casual cyclist's who live in or around Islington? There will be another group set-up there for early 2011, Islington Council are impressed with E'dulwich Cycle Group and looking to arrange a meeting to have the same operation. TLT
  17. 3 years = 36 months, suspended or otherwise. White Collar Bird, a good read by a tremendously great author - a lot of the research was undertaken in Ford open prison, where a large quantity of the inmates are..........Police officers. TLT
  18. The Lying Toad speaks: And Oil too, as I think you (applespider) experienced today as we were just leaving Greenwich on the Marathon route. Lady Mock.... Guess who? TLT
