Do we have to have a smart meter? Can we say no. Think on the tonight programme a few weeks back it was saying there were issues with installations going wrong etc. I really don't fancy one.

Hi, just wondering if there are any solicitors on here that could give me a bit of free advice , it's about a counter claim. Thanks.

Well where I live there are no waste bins at all, Oxenford street, bellenden road, oglander road, soames street, copleston road, everthorpe, marsden, muschamp, not one of these roads has a waste bin. So I'm afraid I can say there are no general waste bins near me. Yes the poo bins do not get emptied enough, so that's down to the council.

Oh my god, him and his brother doing that to you! He is seriously sick in the head, or just an evil scum bag. I really hope you can get it sorted. whatever else is going on in your life, I'd say this needs to take priority and some advice is needed quickly, what a nightmare, I really do hope you get it sorted, our homes are our sanctuary and it saddens me how horrible people can be. Really the best of luck and let us on forum know the outcome.

Good job string vest. You actually seem to be in the right place at the right time, a lot of people would not have helped or not known how to help. Well done. I think things seem to happen around you, maybe because you care! Who knows, but very good news and a happy swan.

nununoolio Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Southwark are doing away with the old dog bins as > people can now use the general rubbish bins. Are you being serious, are Southwark really doing away with dog poo bins? How can we put dog crap in our bins, it will absolutely stink in the summer, especially as they only empty once a fortnight. My ex neighbour used to put her cat poo in her bin, in our shared pathway, in the summer there would be all maggots crawling out of bin and on path up near my front door. Please tell me this is a joke. If you mean dog poo can go in general on street public rubbish bins, then we will be carrying our dogs poo around for a very long time as I can't remember when I last saw a public rubbish bin on any of the streets.

Hope he wasn't dodgy and you left your house empty, if he saw you leaving. Sure there were a few posts about a window cleaner knocking in the eve, around Christmas time.

It sounds so awful, I would certainly contact the press for sure, and do everything by email or letter by recorded delivery. Include photos of damage.Surely this is a health risk. Southwark council are really a joke, they usually pass most work that leaseholders want to do because they get paid for it, regardless of damage caused to adjoining neighbours. If I had a neighbour or neighbours like that I think I would have been arrested by now, no way would I let them get away with sewerage leaking into my home. Really Sorry to hear what sounds like hell. Maybe when all is sorted sell up and get away from your neighbours! anything connected to Southwark council is in my experience problematic. Best of luck lousmith.

Blimey, my cats are all old rescues and they queue outside the back door to get in to poo in the litter trays and go out again! I think it is because they'd spent so long on the streets, that it's a pleasure for them to do it in warm comfort!! I'm pleased as my neighbours don't have to moan about my cats, though very expensive for amount of cat litter. No it isn't nice when cats poo in gardens and they do like freshly dug soil, all I can suggest is keep a nice soft corner of soil in your own garden to encourage them to do it in their own, though easier said than done. Although it isn't pleasant as I find my neighbours cat poo's in mine, as I love doing my garden,I know you can't really control a cat as you can a dog, so yes both unpleasant however owners of dogs are with their dog so should know where they crap and pick it up. I realise I'm very lucky with my lot.

So Kidkruger, you are right and all who disagree are wrong. Where do you get your information from? Are you a dog expert? Don't mean to be rude ,however are you telling me that there aren't people who get pleasure out of their dogs attacking other animals? Doesn't dog fighting exist then, is this just a myth. Everyone is entitled to their view, you have yours, I have mine, lazy irresponsible people walking around with their dogs off lead is a pain in the butt, especially for people walking their dog on lead with off lead dogs running up and causing a nuisance and I believe all dogs can be re trained, including greyhounds and whippets to not catch and kill wildlife or people's cats ,Just really depends on how good a dog trainer you are. We are the pack leader, therefore our dogs respect us, if we treat them right, they are intelligent and enjoy being trained. I've had a conversation with someone in the park who was boasting about how good his dog was at catching and killing squirrels, and yes he had small man syndrome, and was so proud his dog kills squirrels. You must live in a different world to me. Defending lazy irresponsible dog owners , not my style thanks Kidkruger. -
Just out of interest re infected wound on 95 year old lady

Yes pug wash, the neighbour upstairs from her and the one next door are key holders, I am just 2 minutes around the corner. There is a key safe and yes the nurse has the code and did get keys out, though he couldn't open door as there is a special lock that is for visually impaired and he didn't know how to use it, although he did use it on the previous visit. She doesn't have carers as such, one neighbour sees her and does dinner Sunday eve, the other neighbour does Tuesday morning, a friend of mine and the ladies, who has known her as long as me, is doing mornings at the moment, then it's me, afternoon eve and night, She usually sorts herself out in the morning, feeding her cats, doing breakfast and tea and having a wash, it's only been in the last 2 weeks since the fall, she is worried about walking on her own. This has happened last year Feb, when she had her last fall prior to this one,it took a few weeks for her to feel confident again and she walks when I am with her, without me holding her, just for reassurance. She does not want the keys out in safe box so I put them in the eve before nurse is due and will do the same when physiotherapist booked. also when the visual impairment officer visits he can get access with key. Though this is only a temporary thing re key in key safe. She doesn't like anyone letting there self in especially as she cannot see who they are and is somewhat deaf. The neighbours and myself also shout as we open door. She did have the pendant alarm but could not press it so an extra gadget was attached to make it easier , however it was then over sensitive and she kept getting called through the night, which was no good. She insisted it was taken away and I didn't arrange this, she told then when the alarm went off, that she didn't want it and too arrange to cancel and collect! I know they can be a really good thing to have , though not for her as she wasn't happy at all getting woke up . When she had her fall last year she did have the pendant though she never pressed it, she just called out to neighbours. Her situation isn't ideal I know but whilst she knows what she wants, I respect her wishes, within reason. I wish she could use the alarm as that would make me feel better too. Thanks to everyone for advice, it really is appreciated . -

And I understand about not wanting to go and see a GP or go to hospital . I rather feel I'll be the same . Now I'm sure that wasn't meant to be funny, however that did make me laugh!! I'm with you on that one. Yes I will make a call tomorrow to guys. He had called me Friday when he went to visit and said he couldn't open lock. I'm only 2 minutes around corner so I let him in, he moaned about lock and said we are nurses and busy we can't waste time trying to get in, that he has to report it to social services. I said it was social services that installed the lock through the visual impairment team at Southwark . He wants me to not lock door, I'm not just closing it to make her vulnerable just because he doesn't know how to use lock. So he will be calling me again tomorrow to get access, unless he tries to use keys correctly. Depending on what he says, once he does dressing I will call to ask for different nurse maybe. Also , I'm not sure, I have a feeling he won't like finding out that I asked GP to give tablets, he gives me the impression he likes the control, regardless of the consequences. We'll see. -
Bad 2 Dog Owner Brenchley Gardens (killed fox in private garden)
Delainie replied to stringvest's topic in The Lounge
From how I read it, the dogs do not live in any of the two gardens they were in ,attacking the fox, so they could not have been protecting their territory , they were out in public , off lead that's how they managed to get into the gardens. Had they been under control this would not have happened. -

Agree with you string vest, dogs should have been on a lead, anyone who thinks this is acceptable behaviour from the dogs and dog owners are wrong in my view. She has a twelve week old body for gods sake, how safe is it going to be when it's wriggling about in front of these dogs, I don't care what anyone says about nature for certain breeds to chase and attack, any dog can be trained it's sheer laziness on owners behalf or it just makes the dog owners feel big to have a dog that kills. I witnessed two dogs years ago in dulwich park, ripping a squirrel apart right near the children's playground, but that's ok, let the children witness this, whilst the owner stood there encouraging his dogs, I will never forget a little girl screaming hysterically, but hey ho its nature! -

Intexasatthe moment, as she is very sharp she refuses to go to hospital, so getting her referred to the clinic would be good but she would not go, even usually getting her to speak to a dr is a challenge as she says she had spent so much time in hospitals she doesn't want to go back. I know of course if this infection doesn't heal she will have to go,as she may need to , just have to play by ear. Thanks re complaint, not sure to do yet,as I am fearful he might take it out on her, if that makes sense. -

Pm'd you string vest. Sounds just absolutely awful. -
Hello Misswiggy, I've asked my friend and she says that it wasn't her, I know she wouldn't lie. It is quite worrying that someone has done that. I would not risk leaving my cats out at night as not only is a sick individual mutilating poor cats, there is much more risk of getting hit by car. My brother lives in Goodrich and thru the night the cars speed like crazy, there has been a few hit whilst out at night on Goodrich. I treat my cats as I would my children, they may like staying out all night but can't!! Hope it doesn't happen again re tray of food, the sicko is doing all around the m25 , such a vast area he/ she has killed cats and foxes, which includes Peckham, dulwich, and on streets with no cameras and usually during the dark hours. If I was told a sicko was going around at night mutilating and killing people I could choose to go out or not, cats don't know what's happening and its down to us to keep then safe as we do our children!!

Thank you all, it's nice to get some feedback on this.intexasatthe moment, I think it's still guys and st Thomas ,I would have to contact to complain, as I had to complain a few years back re another elderly neighbours treatment of nurses from Townley road, it actually went to court as a solicitor wanted a witness statement from me.yes, Sue,why didn't the nurse just phone the GP,funny thing was, he wasn't expecting me to be there and before he took dressing of he said he was worried about wound, I asked why, he said because it's infected, did that mean he knew from Monday and this was Friday, he also asked if it was a house or flat and if she owned it or was it council, I said council, any reason why you are asking , he said she should go into a home, so I just said why because she's elderly she shouldn't be taking up a council flat, and anyhow she has mental capacity and even if she didn't I have a Lpa so you'd have to go through me before that happened and it isn't happening. Bloody cheek.maybe it's just me, I don't know, I just think a lot of people resent the elderly getting anything yet they have done their time paying their contributions, people seem to forget and think they are a burden, it's shove them in a home put a pad on sit in the chair all day don't move because if you fall I will have to do some caring! Sorry I'm ranting now. My heart really does go out to this woman, when she was 93 she was out everyday, even though she has macular degeneration, it didn't stop her, she walked for miles everyday, then she was robbed in her own home, some bitch talked her way in, knocked her to the floor and stole her money. She or they were never caught. The poor women was 93, 4 foot nothing, evil thing that done this turned her world upside down, she is now 95 and has not been out since, is able to potter indoors usually but as you say string vest, she had a uti, got confused, had a fall, hence the wound to her arm. As you and turtle and anyone that has or is looking after someone, you know how hard it is re seldoc , getting home visits from GP, though paramedics are always great. She is now just fearful of walking indoors on her own, so as like before its just trying to feel confident enough to do it. I'm trying to get the GP to sort out a physiotherapist as she agrees to this, just to make sure she stays as active as possible. She is a very strong minded woman and doesn't take kindly to anyone telling her she has to try and drink/ eat more! The last fall she had was Feb last year, and the only reason she fell this time was it was during the night she was walking without her walking trolley as she forgot she needed it because of being confused,Now only a week after finishing antibiotics for the uti shes on more for her arm. The paramedics checked her heart lungs and blood pressure a few weeks ago , all are good, I think she comes from good stock, her sister died one month before her 109th Birthday. I'm relieved the GP gave the tablets, not at all happy with nurse leaving it till Monday, I'm concerned that she was dehydrated and that's why she got uti, now that is clear and she isn't confused, she has upset stomach, which I'm thinking is tablets, though she says she doesn't feel sick, I'm just thinking is she going to get dehydrated again, how do I get her to drink more? The GP said use salt on her food? Not too sure about that. She is or was doing great and usually only on one blood pressure tablet a day, which is great going for a 95 year old. I will pm string vest and turtle tomorrow. -
Yes, off lead, able to crap wherever, owner walks ahead pretending to not know dogs just had crap, that's the answer I get when I see it happen and shout.keep all dogs on lead on roads, pick their poo up. I've just got home and a lovely dog poo outside my gate. Even in goose green owners leave their dog poo, and I get p'd off when I stand in it, but even more p'd of when my own dog walks in it as she's busy playing ball. Lazy inconsiderate people , totally agree with your rant!!

That must have been a horrible thing to witness, and typical, an animal suffering and needing to be put to sleep and wonderful rspca take 2 hours. If the dogs do that to a fox, they more than likely will, if not already, do this to cats. A dog can be of lead if under control, these obviously wasn't. Wonder how safe her baby is with dogs that behave and are allowed to behave like that. I would keep an eye out to see if she is local and find out where she lives, then get back to useless RSPCA, I would also report to police as they did attack you too. Anyhow dogs of leads on streets, I don't agree with, just laziness on the owners part and an excuse to let their dogs crap and owners carry on walking pretending they didn't know, so not to pick it up. I have a dog, when on street, always on lead, and always pick poo,and most certainly wouldn't attack foxes or cats. Blame the owners. -
Was told this morning her wound is infected , district nurse been dealing with it twice a week. I was told when he gets back to clinic he would request antibiotics from GP. Told it would not be till 4 today, anyhow I called clinic to check at 4.30 as didn't want her left all over weekend, he said he can't do request now till Monday as he has other clients to see. Now does anyone think this is acceptable or not. I don't, so getting tablets now as I called GP to get them, as I don't think you leave anyone with an infection to get worse. Opinions please?? I'm beginning to think I expect too much.

Thanks Kidkruger, I feel a little less anxious now. Nxjen, yes thanks for reminding me about those posts, perhaps I could print them and bring to court, so he/she can see it's not just me with issue. Doubt I'm allowed to though! Thanks Angelina, I know what the lease entails, had they done the work, I'd have paid by instalments and if substandard, I'd have gave them a year to resolve and then put payments on hold till they sorted it. This is about not doing any work, I don't know about others, to me ?5000 is a lot of money for nothing and by the time they get around to working out the actual cost, still now nearly 2 years and still an estimate, no actual, they would have ?5000 for nothing apart from damage to my property. I have plenty of evidence to back me up, photos, emails, text messages, I tried to get them to do work, waited in to no avail. Looking at council papers, they have no evidence I denied them access. They can't add to mortgage as don't have one. Anyhow I will just have to wait and see on 13th, pleased it's not Friday!!!

Thanks Kidkruger, I was told by council that I need one of the people who said I denied access , to visit and arrange with contractors a date before we go to court (court date 13/02/17)to get work booked in and work has to be booked and done before end of March, that the judge will be angry if nothing is agreed. I know I'm anxious , mere me taking on council however I said I hope the judge isn't then angry with me as I ticked mediation which the court offered, council didn't, it's only now 3 weeks before court date that they are trying to get me to arrange so when we go to court, if it's all agreed, well the judge won't see and hear my evidence, if we have reached an agreement. It's more the principle, the contractors behaved as though they were working on a building site, one even opened the bathroom window when my neighbour was sitting on toilet, just turning up willy hilly outside Windows, no Id, no uniform, I call the warm safe and dry programme carry on saltash, it really was a joke. Damaged my property and asked for ?5000. Anyhow I just hope the judge looks at my evidence and is fair.
