  2. Makes my ?2.40 in the Brixton Academy seem almost reasonable.
  3. Guy at work was called to ask why he was attempting to take so much money out of his account in Italy - he was sitting opposite me at the time......
  4. Sorry to hear that PGC
  5. Now I know where it is I do remember going in once and like some other posters was totally ignored, in fact glared at as if I was interrupting their conversation. I left pretty pronto.

Wenger is married I believe (not that in itself signifies anything I realise) but he just keeps his private life private.

Nick Hornby's Fever Pitch pretty much describes my feelings for many years. Both my ex and my current partner were/are ManU fans so have had to develop a thick skin! We're all right most of the time through a shared loathing of Chelsea! but when the two teams meet we find it hard to watch the game together and stay civil. Now what was it that Bill Shankley said about football?

My boss and I support the same team - and I wouldn't p1ss on him if his brain was on fire!
  11. My idea of food heaven: seafood risotto plate of English farmhouse cheese fresh ripe nectarine My idea of food hell: baked beans tinned sardines hard boiled eggs

But is it scousers that like AF - surely some of the greatest footie rivalry is between ManU and L/pool?
  15. So SteveT - did she or did you put her off for life?

  17. I'm not sure if there is an Asda in Exeter - it's more a Sainsbury's sort of town to be honest!

I went to a H&S meeting where the H&S officer told us of the person who put tipex in their boss's tea - the boss drank it and DIED. I laughed and was thrown out of the H&S meeting (result!!) Never found out if it was true though - perhaps Lizzy can now confess.......
  19. Hi Kat So sorry to hear that - good luck with getting something else sorted out asap.
  20. Yep - the Lemon Grove - goodness how time warps the brain.......... Tillie - I didn't go to Uni at Exeter but think its a lovely city and a great Uni - I hope she has a wonderful time.
  21. Maybe they were a bit over-excited about it re-opening.

Saw U2, Simple Minds, Desmond Dekker, Stereophonics and Southern Death Cult at Exeter Uni (was the Lemontree still open when you were there?) - the 1980's students must have been a bit less po'faced than the more recent ones.....
  23. However, this is only a BAD thing if: (a) you have minimal equity in your property and you need to move, or... (b) you are planning to trade down to somewhere smaller to use the equity as a pension, or.... © you are a buy-to-let investor (though even a 10% drop in property prices isn't as bad as what's already happened to the stock market). Sadly for me I fall into 2 of those criteria..................:(
  24. My ex left me for a work colleague of his and was out the door like a shot. He decieved and hurt me, however I would never extrapolate his behaviour as being the norm. I have learned to trust again otherwise life wouldn't be worth living. Better to love and lose than to never love at all.....
