  1. Every day in a little way I am more and more relieved I don't have children! Not dissing parents or kids but goodness life is complicated enough..........
  2. If she could go to the gents alone then surely she could have gone to the ladies alone.
  3. I had a late night appointment there a couple of weeks ago and had to wait an hour - now I fully appreciate that when you are at the end of the day you may well have to wait - however, the computer system went down at 9.30 so all the patient notes for appointments after that time had to be printed out. This is not Melbourne Grove's fault but seems to me to be a bit of a problem (albeit that the last appointment was meant to be at 8.50). This wouldn't have happened with paper notes.
  4. Lucky you ratty - I called them again to be told that the doctor HAD rung me and couldn't get through. I have given up now.
  5. I rang this morning to find out the results of my x-ray to be told that the doctor would ring me between 10.30 and 11.30 - my mobile is not working which meant I was more or less tied to my desk. At 12.00 I called the surgery again to be told that the doctor was at the moment trying to ring me (not confirmed by the receptionist at work). It is now 12.45 and I haven't heard from my doctor and I have had to keep my legs firmly crossed whilst I have waited over 2 hours for a telephone call. It is very hard to know what to do in these circumstances.........
  6. I've never seen more than 5 minutes of BB in total and that is only when I switched onto C4 by accident.
  7. Got mine - was that a photo of you Sue? Snoozequeen - Living South is quite useful if you want a local service - as not everyone uses this forum for that sort of thing.
  8. I must admit to some disappointment that yet ANOTHER Indian restaurant has opening on LL - it's not as if we are short of them. I like the Bangladeshi food I've had on Brick Lane - and will give Jaflong a go but something different would have been nice.
  9. Surely it's not so much men not liking kids in pubs but men not wanting small girls around whilst they relive themselves.
  10. Thanks C - I feel better for that - in fact we don't watch ads at all really let alone kids ads.
  11. Oh God I am old - I don't even know what Lelly Kelly shoes are :(
  12. From around ?225k upwards
  13. I love going to the pub with my partner and watching the footie or the cricket - and I hate shopping (and SATC)
  14. Men who want to watch SATC - baaaaaad. Actually women who want to watch SATC...........
  15. Have just informed my credit card company that I will be in Europe for several weeks to be told that telling them is no guarantee that my card will not be stopped if they feel that a payment is irregular. I appreciate that they are being 'careful' with their money, but what on earth is the point of having a credit card and doing as requested and informing them of my actions if they still have the power to cut off my card without recourse? Is this part of a concerted effort to make us holiday in the UK?
  16. It's weird when you see people out of context as it were! Real 'double-take'

  18. Or all his own hair - or just have hair - quite a few balding pates on show in ED....
  19. Wine bar here, cocktail bar there - goodness all we need now is a proper old man's pub - ooopps have we had that discussion before.....

What you mean a Beeb pundit like Steve McClaren?

  22. Just read the 'cleansing' thread as before my time - shame Jenny never got to see Locale as she was keen for an Italian restaurant to open up in ED.
  23. Come on Spangles - what about SMBS - they've been there for years and have offered ED a choice that very few places had then and have even now. The Cheese Block (same people) was an absolute godsend and ED Deli is not too bad.
