  1. http://www.flickr.com/photos/realpoliceboxes/8136170887/in/photostream This thread reminded me of this.
  2. It would be interesting to see that proposed cycle route in more detail. Does anyone know if the powers that be have decided on a range, i.e. how far from the centre they will position Ken/Brian/Boris bikes. Do they go further north in distance than south for instance?

There's a tunnel between the uk and france can't imagine dropping a few through south London can be such a huge Engineering problem! anyway why not start with a few bikes at camberwell I bet they'd be used
  4. I'm sure this has been mentioned before on another thread but there was a plan in the 1930's to extend the Bakerloo line to Camberwell. The proposed station was even on some tube maps. It would be a real boon to the whole area and particulrly Camberwell if this plan were reinstated, but a first step could be Boris bikes in Camberwell, convenient enough for us in ED.
  5. Thanks that worked a treat. Spot on the timing too, very little traffic last night.
  6. Got to drive to Stansted this evening planning to leave at about 9pm. Someone mentioned that there might be some congestion around Greenwich, Blackwall Tunnel towards Stratford for some reason. Anyone got a suggestion for the best route?
  7. That is a huge loss to Dulwich. It was a beautiful sculpture by a brilliant artist and was perfectly positioned in the park. I have always been a bit obsessed with it and will miss it terribly. Maybe with the insurance money they can buy something equally outstanding to replace it.
  8. It is the best it's ever been and, while I'm on the subject, how come it is so much better than the Dog? As far as I know it is run by the same company, same wines/beers, the staff are much friendlier and I have not experienced any particulalry slow service on the times I have been in there. Now if you want to wait for a drink in a pub I'll see you in the Dog tonight at 6pm.
  9. Oh I think she did, in fact I think ll the Geldof girls did
  10. Er, I think he went to Tulse Hill (RIP)
  11. Closer to the more intellectual Village area the graffiti has been spelt out rather than drawn. I saw 'Prick' written in the snow on a van in Dovercourt road today. Ah, the benefits of a classical education.
  12. I think one of the things that keep us long term Liberals going is the prospect of electoral reform and this coalition must be the best prospect ever. The 'elected' dictatorships of Thatcher and Blair have surely shown us how polarised and intrinsically unfair, politics have become in the UK.
  13. Don't get excited. It's one they forgot to take down last year.

  22. I had my first curry in the Star one very late night.
  23. Yes, I'm sure you (of all prople) wouldn't make a mistake about that. But it's decribed in the photo as being in Dulwich. So I'm sure the caption is wrong.
  24. Getty Images have some interesting Dulwich photos online including Keith Richards & Anita Pallenberg outside Kings College (described as in Dulwich so I suppose it might have been Dulwich Hospital) with baby Marlon.
