  1. You could use a NAS (network attached storage) server and store all files to that and then allow access for all of your devices. http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/network-storage/1283161/zyxel-nsa320 With a powerful CPU and sufficient memory, the ZyXEL NSA320 2-Bay Power Media Server can quickly transfer, backup and stream large multimedia files at the same time. 2. Google+ is far from dead !! If you think that, then you are not using it correctly !! Facebook is suited for kids and is a dumb space to chat about crap! I do not know the other two places mentioned but I have a lot of relevant activity on my G+ account and no pictures of some unknown offspring or drunken pranks etc G+ allows you to focus on what you are interested in, I found this guide useful http://blog.kissmetrics.com/google-plus-marketing-guide/
  3. The camera is nothing but a tool. The person behind makes all the difference. flick through the options in the screen setup and enable the grid and level indicator. Change your shooting angle and heights, move around when composing a picture. Presets can help but experiment with your own settings. Keep strong light source behind you. underexpose rather than overexpose. get to know your camera and experiment (you're not gonna waste any film!!) shoot as much as possible and play around with all the settings, not a bad idea to read the manual!! Choose a camera with the biggest Sensor chip! Pixels smitzsells! more than nine million is overkill! The chip and the lens is the top priority. My camera has a split setting that takes two images one under one over then lays the two on top of each other! (2x7MP) full dynamic range!! Play around post processing in raw to tweak! It's a Fuji HS20EXR (newer version HS30) steep learning curve but decent results from the lens. Bon Chance et bon Voyage
  4. All of this babble about one party or another is stuff and nonsense. wake up and realise that the fat cats in power whatever flavour they may be, are in it for themselves alone! Their pasty smiles hide the real facts; they do not give a hoot for the plebeians they laughingly call the electorate. If they convince you to put your X on the ballot, then they have won! Even the illiterate can manage that. Most voters react on impulse and elect whom seems nice and fall for the hyperbole that tumbles out in endless barrage! Forever ducking the real questions and happily avoiding an answer that might incriminate themselves. POLITRICKS all of it
  5. Have a look at this site it may resolve whatever problems you are encountering? http://support.eye.fi/cards/start/setup-eye-fi-card/
  6. To get to elevated command prompt, Hit the windows button, in the search box type command prompt, when you have the shortcut, right click and choose run as administrator. type sfc /scannow, this might take hours!!! BTW go to event viewer and find the event, on the same page is an option to show all instances, click on that look at the earliest date and see what program was installed soon after, it might point you to the culprit program causing the error
  7. Hello Sue, Try running a file scan, open up command prompt with admin rights, type in sfc /scannow, press enter If you're up for a challenge read this article from microsoft's knowledge base http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833#method3 There is a space between sfc and the / make sure you write it correctly !!
  8. Sue I might be stating the obvious but before you change/uninstall any microsoft updates/packages create a restore point!! There are two more redistribution packages since 2005. I would remove the old packages and then down load these in date order http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=32BC1BEE-A3F9-4C13-9C99-220B62A191EE&displaylang=en http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&displaylang=en http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=a7b7a05e-6de6-4d3a-a423-37bf0912db84 If explorer still crashes then you can safely assume it is another program causing the conflict In order to track down this error you must be methodical and use a process of elimination, check to see what programs are running at startup and stop them. C+++ is used on many applications (Office, browsers, java etc etc)run them one at a time and try using explorer. eventually you will discover the culprit Right Clicking
  9. These errors are caused by one or two things, A. missing files from the visual C++ runtime library B. installed program causing a conflict. Had you installed a program around the time the problem started? try uninstalling it and see if explorer works normally. system restore would turn your system settings back, but also wipe out any updates as well. Good luck!! Right-Clicking
  10. Your message box is FULL !!
  11. Now is the the time to be signing up to the cloud services, you might of noticed that there are more and more offers and incentives for you to subscribe? they want you as a potential source of income!! The offers at present are generous. I have 10GB with google 25GB with microsoft's skydrive. I back up locally on an external drive and use the cloud for sharing, synchronicity is the key, upload from your phone to the cloud, get home and download to your desktop, out on the go? view it on your laptop. once the file is uploaded it becomes mobile!! NAS servers are a great option as you only have one source of data, stream it to whatever device you have on your network be it phone tablet laptop or desktop or even your internet TV. To Bob, it will be as fast as your router!!
  12. Wheels within wheels,. The old school ties still opens doors. We are judged by the the cut of your cloth And the plumb in your throat Dodgy handshake? You're hired!!
  13. I have a Playbook running OS 2, It now has native email and calender. runs android apps (albeit a tad slowly) more android apps on the way, some the more popular will be re-written, a LTE (4g) version is on it way. Personally I really rate it. and at ?130 is a real bargain, I use it mostly as an ereader (sepia paper and dimmed) works great. solid piece of kit and when the new 4g is released it is sure to pick up momentum. If you buy it soon you'll get free 90 day support when you register so no real reason to fear getting teched out! Right-Clicking
  14. I have not had any implants done, but I regularly go to Hungary as it is where my wife hails from. She is from a little town on the Austrian border and her town, Mosonmagyarovar has literary hundreds of dental clinics as the folks come from Austria and Germany to get their pegs done at bargain rates, the town is less than hour away from Bratislava and Vienna airports. I would not worry so much about their inability to spell the eclectic English language, Try Hungarian and then complain!!!
  15. Hi It sounds to me you have spyware and it has gotten into your contacts lists from your various accounts, benmorg mentioned running spybot, 1st try this; hit f8 on the bios splash screen before windows loads, then go into safe mode, navigate to system restore and choose show older points, go back to before the bug showed itself (even further to be sure) and then exit out of safe mode. all changes made on your system since that date are gone (including malicious software) Then run spybot. and you should be clean. run your anti-virus as well , run disc clean to rid the dead files. re-installing is laborious but as mentioned it will restore it afresh and of coarse deal with your compromised accounts. . if you need any more help pm me! right-clicking
  16. One option the Council/Government seemed to left to the wayside , was to means test it's social housing tenants, How many couples/families reside in assisted housing whilst their pay-packets are easily in the range of being able to afford a mortgage? admittedly when they first started residency they may well have been a just case, but fortunes/careers turn around, Is it fair that a couple on say ?60.000 joint income get to enjoy/profit from cheap rent? The authorities could remove some of their subsidies and bring the rent up to near the LHA and use the income on say (Gasp!) build more affordable housing? The people whom are effected should from their own gumption move on or pay the going rate, and free up some of the existing stock. It is another way to help re-distribute the enormous wealth that exists in this country.
  17. DJKQ, Loz & silverfox Thanks for your kind words and commiserations, It would be interesting if I was to post a wanted ad in the residential section of this forum "2 bed flat wanted for housing benefit claimants" references supplied must be within the LHA guidelines. somehow I do not suppose my inbox will be cluttered with offers?
  18. Another Right wing decision was to flog off social housing and squander the proceeds without building any more houses! True to form when those with the most wealth in financially dificult times, turn on those with little, to prop up their fat bank accounts and attack those with the least line of resistance. If we are to be dragged back into the Dickensian times might I be justified in adopting Fagin's famous quote.....You've got to pick a pocket or two?
  19. S/F We live in a welfare state, I was made redundant at 50 and cannot find employment nobody seems to want to even to reply to my 500+ job applications! I have paid Tax and class 1 contributions all my life It is the governments responsibility under the laws laid down since McMillan's days. As for moving elsewhere! Laugh Out Loud!! There are very few landlords willing to accept housing benefit claimants who as far as they are concerned are a bad risk. make a few enquiries at the multitude estate agents on the Lordship lane and see there face drop when you mention the ugly words "Housing benefit"
  20. Hello! What a lovely caring nation we all live in, doesn't it make you proud to be part of the big society where fairness is key. April this year councils were imposed to fix rents on housing benefits on a yearly basis. My landlord has demanded a rent increase of ?150 a month and the council cannot pay the extra until next June. Understandably the L/L has hit me with a section 21 and I have two months to move. As landlords refuse to rent to scum-bag H/B claimants I am to be homeless, I have two kids and we'll all be in bed and breakfast accommodation, can anyone advise? Help or am I being a work-shy layabout who deserves this anyhow.
  21. Have you gone to programs and features and tried to un-install it? As D/F said if it is not installed on your pc then be aware as it might not be what it claims to be........right-clicking
  22. I think the only way to get everybody to all pay their tax is to shift the tax burden from Income to energy. That way the more energy used the more tax is paid. Across the board all would instantly reduce usage, regenerative and self generative technologies would take off, energy saving would become a priority as would solar and wind generation. Proportions would be fairer as those whose activities are low key would avoid paying much, those whom own big properties. run big cars and whose social set has them jetting off to far flung places , would incur the penalties. The whole planet is in demand for energy and this is growing fast! as China, India and south america catch up, so will the demand, as the stuff is at a premium, in high demand, bloody obvious avenue methinks
  23. Nobody gets rich by being generous, Have you ever done any work for the well off? Worst tips you'll ever recieve
  24. Have a look in device manager for any yellow flags, you might have a driver gone down, have a look for the wi-fi driver if it's not there then it will be on the installation disk.to get to device manager just hit the orb and start typing "device manger" and you'll get the link. it might be worth doing a disk clean up as you might have some dead installation files cluttering things up,
  25. It was not so long ago the conservative government had the brainwave to sell off all the social housing, it enabled those recipients access to credit and a foot on the housing ladder, and had the result the old bird was looking for; to dig our way out of recession and get the hoards buying again. Shame! At that time I was living on a small (200 abodes) council estate. We had a resident caretaker, two part time wardens that worked to ten pm, one full-time gardener and two part timers, and a laundry, our house was decorated by council employees and yes somehow all this was paid for from rents!! Now with buy to let landlords whom use the local housing allowance as a benchmark on how much they can squeeze, how can anyone wonder where and why the social bill is so expensive? Laying fault on the unemployed is pointless, 90% want to work (I am sure) 80% are not getting the few jobs available. Minimum wage has given employers an excuse to pay just that amount (or a little more) Profit goes on more productive work-practices and technology to cut the labour costs. I have been without work for four years, I have applied for over 500 jobs and have received eight replies and three interviews, but I am labelled as work-shy lazy and happy with the handouts Laugh Out Load, Not. I have two kids at primary school and I dream of a job that would pay me enough to support us all! before I was made redundant I was in receipt of housing and work tax benefits, sounds to me the UK governments are subsidising industry as well. Had I received a decent living wage from my exploitive employer, the need for benefits would diminish leaving the cash for those without work. In times of recession those in the position of wealth and power always turn on the poor to maintain their own bank balance, nothing new there. in a country as rich as ours I feel ashamed at the injustice and abject poverty a lot of us suffer, if it was not for my credit card and overdraft, surviving on benefits would be next to impossible.
