Miga To clarify your confusion a computer BIT is either on or off, basic binary code of zero or 1 , a Nibble is 4 BITS, a Byte is 8 BITS, so therefore a KILOBYTE is 1024 BYTES

I know it has only been 40 years since the Uk adopted the metric system but one might have thought the food industry would have sorted this farce out by now! Why do I have to buy my coffee in 227g packets Jam in 230g etc. Does my head in!! The rest of the continent standardises it thus 250, 500 750, 1KG or 330 and 660!!

Tessa Jowewl !! For me has been brilliant, over the past year o so I have been battling Southwark council, the support and guidance that she had provided has proved invaluable and as my local MP I was sad to see her go. If she cares half as much as she has done for just one individual what a grand major she would make for us all. BIG UP TESSA!!!

Use this app ! Photoshop express https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adobe-photoshop-express/id331975235?mt=8&ls=1 Stand back a bit from your subject, take the shot then open the above app and crop the image, it should reduce the file size somewhat and be small enough to upload

This nonsense with the tax threshold making "Hard Working Families" better off is a complete bollox! If you are unfortunate enough to be on the lower pay-scale and in receipt of any sort of benefit (working tax, housing etc) All of these are means tested. So having an extra ?300 taken off the base means that the same amount will be taken off your benefits, Net Result = ?0 in your earnings!! This also applies to any overtime!! I currently receive ?60 a week in H/B I would have to work the 1st 6 hours overtime (@ ?10ph) without in any increase to my pay-packet. Without a raise from the company my pay will never get any better Great innit?

Use the block facility within you inbox preferences, In Google chrome you would use the drop-down menu on the far left on the offending email and choose filter..... must be something similar within whatever email client you use!

Says it all really! This is what this policy of exploitation brings out in people! Wants others to pay for their mortgage, does not want to accept any sort of social responsibility by refusing Housing benefit. What a lovely society we enjoy!!

Sue by connecting an audio device either wired or bluetooth to your car stereo you are simply using it's amp and speakers!! The Device plays whatever you use and streams the signal to the car stereo
-
You could always use your phone (presumably Smart?) That would do the job, also most platforms (windows, blackberry, android, apple) support lose-less playback, (with the right app) If your car has player has Bluetooth or an audio line in all the better, This can play lossless (flac) files and Mp3 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-SANDISK-SANSA-CLIP-PLUS-SDMX18R-8GB-MP3-PLAYER-BLACK-RETAIL-/221144353168?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_PortableAudio_MP3Players&hash=item337d3b0990 http://www.sandisk.co.uk/products/music-video-players/clip-plus-mp3-player/ R/C

How about a tablet computer? I have a Blackberry Playbook with 64gb storage Supports all of these file formats. AAC, AMR, AWB, FLAC, M4A, MKA, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA So you can choose your favored type I use Flac as it is not compressed and delivers Great sound quality

Arabs! (non self-exploding type) Islamic art

Or after removing the lens use a paper clip to hold it then tape it to your phone's camera lens, You'll have a really cool macro lens!!

Hi Sue, You could try removing the print head and flushing it out with cold running water for ten minutes or so until the run-through is clean, allow it to dry thoroughly!! replace and pray !! No doubt you have tried the recommendations on the canon site? Other than that Buy a new printer , prices have dropped dramitically in the past few years, but choose carefully as it's the ink where they make their money!! Good luck R/C

Petition for a rent cap in London

The Tories don't want social housing at all! Thatchers government privatised the council properties under the guise of right to buy, as a way of ending recession at that time , empowering the new owners into the world of credit and debt! These and many private homes have now changed hands into a new class of investor, Buy to let! The upward march of capital wealth shows no signs of reversing and the trickle down effect of capitalism is well north of where any sensible economy should be and is ultimately self-defeating. Whatever happened to the housing associations? these started and maintained some great projects and property solutions, their incorporation into the council's domain put it death methinks. The only solution thus far promoted by this current shower of fools is to impose benefit caps onto the claimants of H/B, and most of these are working folks! where has the creative thought process buggered off to? merely tinkering around the edges with half hearted policies of speeding up and relaxing of red tape re-planning for extensions etc has had a negligible effect so far. A total lack of political will is half the problem, it will end in an increasingly unaffordable city with the majority of native residents effectively, economically and socially cleansed. Building more is all too obvious, co-operatives and self-build along with stricter requirements to build on land purchased without development, Raise the tax on buy to let income and use it build more really affordable homes? I rent and it takes up a whopping 70% of my earnings. How shitty is that? -

I suspect RB sources his material from the opinions, thoughts and beliefs of others, cherry-picking and indulging in plagiarism. Personally I do not have much time for the man and frankly he gets up my nose, His 2nd hand views are pertinent, and need however obnoxious, a character to appeal to an audience that would have not been otherwise exposed to the ideology and and facts that surround the multitude of "HIS" concerns. I rather enjoyed when the large man in the audience berated him on his lack of gumption to stand for election! His weak response was par for the course and exposed his lack of contents in both his thought processes and contents of his man sacks!!

Pretty soon A lot more people will be turning to veggies, As the demand for meat increases from the developing nations, so the price will rise, Argentinians will finally be able to afford eat their corned beef! Whereas before only the wealthy west could afford it. With the rise in cost, so the realization might dawn on the uninformed that their consumption is unsustainable, Ask yourself, How much water is need per kilo of meat?, how much feed is used from the birth of the beast to it's untimely end? Answers! Bovine meat = 15,514 liters per kilo vs vegetables 322. " " = 16 kilos of feed = 1 kilo of meat. Food For Thought "It takes at least six times the amount of land to feed a meat eater than to feed a vegetarian. In the UK just 2% of the population is vegetarian, but although none of us really need to eat meat every day, most people simply aren?t prepared to give it up altogether. Having one or two meatless days a week is an easy way to make a difference, and changing to a diet containing more beans, nuts, fruit and vegetables can also improve your health and lower the risk of heart disease, diabetes and some cancers". "16 kilos of grain is needed to produce one kilo of beef. The huge quantities used for animal feeds means that the remaining supplies of grain become too expensive for the people who depend on it to survive. About 1.2 billion people in the world suffer from hunger, while another 1.2 billion are obese".

I have been a vegetarian for 35 years, even as a kid I was always questioning my mother what I was eating, and when told Pig or Cow I really didn't get on with the idea of putting a dead animal inside my body! As far as "Meat Substitutes" go, either Quorn or Soya based, the point is Protein and Texture! Try the Sainsburys meatless meatballs, Lovely stuff! Vegetarianism is down to personal choice there are no rules on what constitutes a real or pretend veggie, I am labelled as a "Ova Pesca vegetarian" Meaning I still eat (oily) Fish and eggs. I have no problems with nutrition nor health, If anything, being veggie opens up your imagination and encourages one to explore alternatives and aids to your creativity in the kitchen, If you are used slapping a chunk of meat, spuds and a few greens on a plate, try taking off the animal and then think about how to complete the meal!! Quon bacon is smoked cardboard! Yuk!, but most of the others are great, It's not pretending to be anything other than what it is...........A replacement or stand-in for something that achieves a similar result or purpose.

Foxy! Simple for those who have some idea and are interested enough to fiddle around with the settings, most however never go further than the basics! But I concede it is a simple enough task, once you know how to get to the routers settings, Even this you'll need to know your routers IP address. Sue! Here are the links and how to's, http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/hardware/broadband-connection-settings.shtml http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/hardware/technicolor-582n-advanced.shtml

Loz! Nice explanation! Do not think think that you are complicating things at all, Foxy's post left me having to google an answer!! I sort of knew how the IP's worked as I have a blackberry playbook that I can access via the run command/IP address and have it appear in windows/file explorer! Poor sue! she only wanted to see if there were anyone else experiencing the same issues she had!! But great to see there are some active techies out there willing to input on this forum!

Hi Sue, I too have had plusnet connectivity issues of late, It seems to be an issue at their end rather than your router, If you cannot get the internet light to stay green, try restarting the router, unplug it for at least 10 seconds and restart it. If it's a wi-fi issue do as nashoi suggests or use this tool https://www.acrylicwifi.com/en/wlan-software/wlan-scanner-acrylic-wifi-free/ If you have slow loading of web pages, then this is down to a few easy to resolve fixes, 1st look at your browsers settings, most will allow you to clear the cookie cache everytime you close the browser, and dig a little deeper to create a list of sites to be kept for frequently used sites. (white list). Lastly all browsers use a directory to fetch the page your are "dialing" Domain Name System, These servers are allocated usually by your ISP (plusnet in your case) there are many providers and some get busy, a simple tool can find the fasted and allow you to change yours, I use google US and it's so much quicker than the one provided, here is a link to a simple tool, it does not install so you have to open the folder and click on the .exe file to run it. http://www.sordum.org/7952/dns-jumper-v1-0-6/ Once all of this is done you'll get the best possible from your set up, remember a wired connection is always going to be faster than wi-fi. hope this helps anyone who get frustrated with slow acting pc's!!
