  3. Here's me thinking she was a lass from Hudderfield.
  4. I expect it to be full of lippy northeners who love the north but it's too cold there so they make do with living here and then they heve kids who thus ARE southerners and then they grow up being southerners and become embarrassed by their parents accents. What to do? I'm freezing typing this. I better phone my mum and check she's got an extra jumper on.
  5. afters or arrrfters....bath or barrrrth.....still get pulled up by southerners for my short "a's". Is East Dulwich becoming too southern?
  6. couldn't find the malibu but sneezing, sore throat etc etc too much gardening

  9. Mr Mikewbate shouldn't you be in the EDT?
  10. Excuse me but what is a 911? Isn't it the emergency number on American cop shows? What has that got to do with cars?
  11. No it's a badly designed shelfing unit from IKEA.
  12. I think we may have to ask our local councillor-Mr Richard Thomas ,about this.
  13. Brondesbury ?????
  14. This spring I be wearing.... lovely new blue top thing from Primark. What you be wearing?
  15. I don't like off street parking because it reduces our ever decreasing green spaces in ED. Also- have you ever watched paved over front gardens when it rains? The water sloshes around and over fills the drains in the streets. If you even have a few pots out or any kind of greenery out front they will absorb most of the excess rainwater as well as providing a habitat for our wildlife. I speak as the owner of possibly the most dented car in ED. (Never our fault. honest!) But we do have a nice front yard thing with some good tubs AND today is first day of spring so get planting!!!
  16. I'm hoping it will be a large floral "Welcome to East Dulwich" sign in the middle of our lovely ED roundabout at end of LL.
  17. How about giving them the price of a Big Issue?
  18. Richard Thomas been in touch with crossings department in Southwark and temp. crossing person being put it on Barry Road after Easter whilst they look for permanent replacement. ps no one injured in crash- 2 cars pranged but drivers ok
  19. yeah like richard wilson having to say "I don't believe it" etc etc. At least John Inman won't have to say "I'm free" any more!
  20. Well he probably hasn't got over his wife dying very suddenly a couple of years ago of pneumonia. She used to work in there too. Mind you he was also quite grumpy before that.
  21. no but joanna lumley lives in stockwell.
  22. Does he still sport a beard and bow tie?
  23. Dear Bony fido It was Mr Crash who saw Harry Carpenter, alas, not me. I would have been tongue tied but would have tried to say something, however naff..........one of my mini lifetime regrets is once sharing a lift (sadly not in East Dulwich) with Peter Graves AKA Jim in Mission Impossible and not daring to say "Your mission Jim ,should you choose to accept it " because I just couldn't do it!!
  24. Dear Mr Mightyroar. First gig I'd been to since a friend made me go and watch Orbital with her a couple of years ago and after 2 songs I wanted to go home and lie down..however I thought Arcade Fire were FAB and it was over all too quickly. Their energy and passion had me hooked from the first song. Love Win's vocals.Came home and put Funeral on very loud. Have you seen today's Observer Music mag front cover "Could the Arcade Fire be the best band in the world?". A Paul Morley. (Actually I dozed off as I was reading it but I agreed with the headline such was my high at the end of the evening, possibly also caused by dropping in to The Drum to say hi to any forumites on the way there.) I was a bit phased on the way in when girls had to go in one door and boys in the other..the security was much heavier than I expected.....is it always like that there now??
