  2. It was more along the lines of: [pre] me: This pint is bad barman: oh - we've had a couple of problems with this today - let me speak to the manager (goes to spk to manager) barman: the manager say's it fine and you can't change it me: erm - doesn't he want to look at it? look - it's cloudy and if you'd like to taste it it's realy not very good (barman goes to apeak to manager again) barman: I'm sorry - he says it's fine me: If it's fine then tell him to come here and taste it (barman goes to talk to manager again) barman (in hushed voice): He says you can have your money back [/pre] Shortly after this the tap was turned to mark the beer as off. I got the right result but only having battled for it. Very similar happened to my friend last time. The impression I got was that the manager was trying to get away with serving what he knew was bad beer. AS I say - I'm not going to name and shame unless others have seen same. I won't be going there again, but I didn't liek it much anyway so no great loss. Wouldn't want to put others off if it's not a common experience.
  3. I wouldn't want to be accused of moaning about a local establishment so let me ask forumites a question.... Has anyone been to a local pub and been served a bad pint of bitter? Then on taking it back and pointing out it's cloudyness and general awful flavour be told that the manager of the pub says it's okay and you can't have another one? This has happened a couple of times to myself and friend in one local establishment and both times has taken a lot of argument to get it changed. Maybe it was just a one-off (twice) but if anyone else would like to name a local establishment this has happened to them in we might see a pattern....
  4. I believe they have recently started a 5-a-side competition on Tuesdays which means they open up the car park and changing room to non-guests I'm annoyed by lack of parking also
  5. They are quite pretty but a bit of a distraction whilst negotiating a corner with a side road feeding in. Wait for them to be removed for health and safety :)
  6. What if the children are asleep in the pushchairs. Would you rather they were woken up? :)
  7. Is this store gone now - was there before Xmas but seemed to have gone when I popped in the other day?
  8. Only real solution if you don't have off road parking is to buy a car you don't care about and live with the dents. Makes life much less stressful :)
  9. I walked to Oval - please let the trains be running by tonight!
  10. Just joined the EDF fantasy league - apologies for late joining, especially as I may push most people down a place :)

  14. No quicker way into London Bridge - read back - the motorbike option trumps all for speed.... Now if only Westminster hadn't taken away my free parking...
  15. Actually - I believe you can renew up to 1 month in advance (did mine a couple of months back).
  16. yeah - fair enough - me too...

  18. Looks like "Team Nutty" will be out in force for quizzing on Thursday. Hoopers will again be the destination unlessa better offer comes our way. I am still pretty disappointed by the standard of ED quiz teams... :)

  20. Sounds like that interest rate cut isn't as unlikely as some people thought....
  21. I'd be interested in something like you suggest in the future (once my child is old enough). Although on an ongoing basis I'll be looking for a club with a proper kids section to introduce him to the game (doesn't Alleyn's have this?). Re: the ED Rugger 7's - I reckon I could get a team out

Seasonality isn't particularly important to consumers as the energy companies obviously ride that for us. It's the overall trend that will be important. I am in no way suggesting I can predict the market - just pointing out that commodity prices aren't guaranteed to keep going up as quite a few commodity investment funds have recently found. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/03ca4db2-5a7b-11dd-bf96-000077b07658.html

I wouldn't be so sure about interest rates not being cut. Energy prices are starting to fall from their highs and energy and food price increases have been the main cause for increased inflation. Cuts over the next 6 months or so are possible.

They'll video you on a treadmill to ensure you buy the correct running shoes as part of the service... quality establishment.
