  1. Perhaps, but does that give someone free reign to slash tyres then? Or the fact that my car is loud? I know you all hate us, but it doesn't give people the right to vandalise the cars. We have had slashed tyres, headlights ripped out, roofs slashed. Not really on is it? professordingo - if you get your tyres slashed, shall the person defend it by saying 'are you a L Lane shopper, perchance?' How foolish.
  2. I was quite shocked that he said that. We all know what a pain it is to get a flat tyre. I understand the parking is annoying round there, but why should people get told off when it is free parking! You can only park on LL for 30 mins so where else can people park really? Also, the movement of the cars is quite regular, so I am sure no one is having to park too far away from their beloved front door!
  3. It seems that myself and my colleagues are constantly getting flat tyres around L Lane (Archdale, Nutfield, Lacon Rd). Has anyone else had this recently? There are a lot of road works going on so thought it was this. However, I was threatened by someone who told me on Nutfield Rd he would slash my tyres if I parked in front of his house again. I did remind him it was free parking but he didn't seem to care. A closer inspection of the tyre does look like a slashing!
  4. Loz - Could end up on a child porn site. Enough said really.

  8. ......I used to rent one of those. Go inside - different story - very nice indeed. Try the vile building on DK Hill - which has won shit loads of architectural awards!
  9. cab - I have seen this man! I work on LL so he is often about. I once went up to the dog to stroke it but didn't notice any open sores or anything like that. However, it does looks like its hair is matted.

  17. 160,000 for a one bed in ED? Good luck...

  20. The Gardens are lovely - I have been waiting for a place to come up for ren there for ages!
  21. Oh my God! I went into Sommerfield today and thought I was going to be sick from the smell it was so potent! The cashier said to me she had been inhaling it for 3 hours! All they had was a poor handwritten note saying 'these fumes are not toxic - just due to maintenance from the upstairs warehouse'. I think it is terrible they had to work in those conditions. Then, walking back to my car (on Northcross), a swarm of ants attacked me! They got in my hair and under my jumper! Didn't think anything of it until I saw this thread.
  22. I heard that helicopter and was interested to know what was going on!
  23. As an estate agent myself (boo, hiss!), the credit check basically ensures that you can actually afford the rent. Ms B is 100% correct in all her info. From personal experience of renting, they will want to see that you can cover all costs (rent, bills etc), comfortably. It is difficult with gaining a credit history - the best way is to get a credit/store card. Use it, pay it off, etc, etc, to show you are a responsible borrower.
