  1. My Vodafone is horrendous. I live on Thompson Road and have no service, except for the bathroom which isn't the best place to talk...
  2. This is very scary! Poor guy. I try and avoid withdrawing money at that time, but sometimes it is tough. My bro used to managed west london restaurants so would get home very late, often stopping in at Payless for some beers. He often said he felt a little vulnerable.
  3. thanks for your help guys. Turns out they owed me a fair bit of money and it was a 'mistake'. No apology though!
  4. it is a negative amount. that is what I don't get as they can't take money from me....
  5. anyone?
  6. hi just finished working with a company, and still waiting for my P45. Was expecting a final slip with money owed for car security deposit etc, etc, and had payslip saying 'Payable by BACS - 237.28'. I called the bank and nothing has come out or in, and it doesn't say it is a demand for payment. What the hell is it?! Any help appreciated.

  8. Ah, HSBC - left them 5 years ago after shocking treatment. The worst was what happened when I had my wallet stolen in the Dominican Republic. Having expressed concern about the area I was going to the bank before I left, they assured me that with my account, if anything went wrong I could call them and have replacement cards and ?500 in cash within 24hrs, or go to a local bank, call them FREE and they would wire it over. 2 days, ?100 in phone calls later - nothing. Luckily I was with my brother, but I could have literally been stranded with nothing half way across the world. I kept calling, but was told there was 'nothing they could do', despite cover for my accounts and my cards. When I returned to the UK and complained, I was told the situation was 'out of their remit' and was offered ?15 in compensation. Not really worth it after the phone calls costs and 2 days spend in various banks in ridiculous heat in the Dominican Republic.
  9. I saw him outside Co-Op house yesterday at about 3.30. He recognised me, said hello, then jumped on the 12!
  10. I heard him the other night! I think he was moved out as he had an ASBO slapped on him.
  11. Any of them showing it?
  12. It is funny - lived here for years and NEVER been in there, and have no reason why. Think I will give it a shot. I tried The Plough on sun for a roast - was nice too.
  13. Snorky - asking to split a bill on two cards - does that constitute 'shit'?
  14. Sulu - funny you say that, as my sister (a teacher), thought that was the case. In all honesty I would not want her to feel silly, but I just thought the attitude was off, especially since there are many old ladies who shop in there - if she spoke to my nan like that I was go nuts.
  15. I went into Sommerfield last night to get some bits with my sister, and ended up buying a fair amount. We decided to split in our cards (done many times before). I asked the lady if we could do this, and before I even finished my sentence she said 'no'. I said to her I had done it before so could she try. Again, she interrupted, and just said 'no, no, no'. I didn't really care about splitting it that much, but thought I would push her on it. As expected, the nice manager came over and said 'of course you can split it, what is the problem?' Maybe she wasn't sure how to do it, but why not just say? I wouldn't have cared. It just wound me up how rude she was. SHe didn't even bother to say sorry before, just starred at me with her attitude...
  16. I think 4am is pushing it a bit! After 3 is when I think you can get pissed off!
  17. this is concerning. Agreed, once he knows he has been identified he may go away. What worries me is that it could be an old lady in there who may open the door to see what is going on...
  18. Martin Lewis, money saving expert, has advice of this on his website.
  19. Well, did you know that they have to legally wait 5 mins at the car before issuing a ticket? Did he do this I would be interested to know!
  20. Where has it gone?
  21. Stayed with my mate the last few nights in Co-Operative house just off Rye Lane. Monday at 8pm - salesperson from Npower. Said we were not interested. Came back again, with a colleague, at 8.30. Said not interested again. Tuesday, 9pm, they came knocking again. Little angry this time, so asked them to please stay away. Same guy came back again with his colleague at 9.30! Not only is it bloody anti-social at these times, I still can't figure out how they are getting in the building through the security door. Anyway, I have had enough of them and had to make a complaint!
  22. The sad thing here is that the manager should not need to step in. The horrific act should not have taken place in the first place! I am sorry, my cousin has two little ones, but would rather die that do this in public. Also, I can understand why someone would find it difficult to complain because you often get a snappy reaction. I was in the Herne once, and a lady did exactly the same thing! When I asked her to please you the toilet, I was told to 'bugger off - this is a family pub'.
  23. Are they open tomorrow? Got a sneaking suspicion they may be closed...
  24. benmorg - that Landcroft deal was run by yours truly!
  25. Does anyone know how much it is to swim at Goose Green pool? Also, is it open?
