  1. My mate was plannin on cyling to ED station so I suppose that is an option? ANywya, you don't think it will be missions to get a bus to central then? Also, how long do you reckon to Lordship Lane?
  2. Yeah - I am jus used to living on East Dulwich road so have been spoiled. The 12 is fine - it will take me straight to oxford street which is fine by me. What about getting to ED station?
  3. Hi all - I am thinkin of renting a room on Ryedale Road, SE 22, by the old Camberwell cemetary. I just wanted to know what the bus routes are like out there - a little concerned I may be miles from a direct bus to London (thought I would be near the 12). Can anyone put my mind at rest please?
  4. What I love about ED is the fact that the balance of chain shops/quirky places is just right. You can go and buy your meat fresh at the butchers but also grab something quick from Sommerfield! Foxtons have already bastardised the shop front - what is next?!
  5. Yes. I am actually 111
  6. Restaurants: Yo Sushi Pizza Express/Gourmet Pizza/Zizzi/ASK Pizza LEON Canteen Home furnishings: Heals Habitat Laura Ashley Grooming/toiletries Clinique Space NK Clothing: Ralph Lauren Gap/Abercrombie Jones the Bootmaker Top Shop Do we want ED to become like a horrific suburban high street?
  7. Not an M&S PLEASE!
  8. Nice to see I am in the Red section!
  9. Went to Foxtons, who claimed they had 'exactly what I was looking for'. Two hours later, with an agent who didn't know his way round ED, I was shown a property in Peckham and Honour Oak - despite specifying ED only! The one is ED was ?150 per week OVER budget. I understand showing a client a variety of options, but not one was in budget or where I had asked. Why not be honest, like the other estate agents, and say that there are limited 3 beds! It would save a lot of time!
  10. Well I live opposite, so what I may do is go there, have a pint, and leave these comments on the table when I go. Maybe then they can get their act together. Perhaps they will offer everyone who is part of this thread a free drink! And pigs may fly!
  11. Pk - Please don't use my comments as a way of suggesting racism - very offensive and narrow minded indeed. As I am sure anyone else on this thread can understand, I was suggesting one keep their eyes peeled for ANY groups looking suspicious - black, white, yellow, green, blue, male or female!
  12. I am really glad this thread has been started. These three girls seem to be causing a great deal of trouble in ED and I think it is really important we all keep our eyes peeled. It does concern me because I have always felt so comfortable walking around ED after dark. I am not too sure how comfortable I would feel with my sister doing then same heaving heard Blue's story. Blue - hope you feel better

  14. Well I got fed up with Gold Lee on East Dulwich Road. They are lovely people, but the food is ridiculously rich and always gives me a funny tummy (sorry!). It is also ultra modern inside which I don't really like.
  15. Went there last night. What a fabulous curry house! The service was fantastic and the food amazing - and at a very reasonable price. Does anyone know of a decent Chinese in the area?
  16. I live in the flats on East Dulwich Road - Altima Court. Well, on the occasion that I have been awake at around 4am, I see the same old women walkin along towards the church by Goose Green. It is very bizarre - without fail we see them at this time on every instance we have been awake at this hour. it is two old ladies and one is pulling one of those old lady trailer things. My brother and I have named them 'the witches'. Has anyone else noticed them, or am I the only weirdo up at 4am ?
  17. Exactly - it was almost empty when I was there so I was bemused as to why the service was so slow. It has such potential too. They even do jazz on tuesdays. However, the staff are just so vile. I hate having to complain but when I was served a pint it was literally 1.4 of head!
  18. I live in the new block of flats on East Dulwich road and sometimes go to The Green for a beer since it is so near. I have always known the service is poor, hence I never order food. On saturday 13th my sister and I went there again, and she ordered pitta bread and olives - hardly the most complex of dishes. It took 20 mins to be noticed by the staff, and 30 mins for our food to come to us. In this time we saw a waitress spill boiling coffee on a lady outside, and proceed to make fun of her in French (not realising I understood every word!). I wasn't shocked to realise that they also own Le Chardon on Lordship Lane - where I was told when I went in at 9pm that I could only have one course and had to be out by 9.45 since 'the kitchen staff were tired'. Is it me, but can they really afford to provide such terrible service in such a competitive area? Has anyone else had a bad experience? DON'T GO THERE
  19. Is it me, or is there one girl who works in there who is utterly vile to customers ALL the time? Also, ?2.50 for an hour of internet usage? Central London charges ?1. I think someone needs to rival this place!
