  1. I can honestly say I wish I had so much time on my hands to be able to get wound up so easily with these issues. Good God.
  2. Post 11pm? Come on guys!
  3. I was given one by Southwark Council workers. However, I agree that some places don't really help by providing any means of disposing of butts.
  4. I learnt my lesson with this before! I think it is a bit off to drop lit cigarettes especially! The employer should really provide somewhere for staff to dispose of their dog ends.
  5. I never know what counts as junk mail really. I mean, is a takeaway menu junk mail? I suppose the owners would say not as they are offering a service. I don't know...
  6. I have heard of issues with subsidence in roads around Landcroft (Thompson, Goodrich).
  7. *Bob* makes a very good point. It is very strange how people are up in arms about a new agency, but are totally and utterly obsessed with house prices and the housing market, rather than being obsessed with finding a home. Therefore, a new agent is simply responding to this obsession, as a pub will to our desire to drink!
  8. Pathetic isn't it? I have lost count of the amount of times I have seen this happen. You are right, the sad thing I noticed is the time I was on the 12 it was 2 professional looking ladies talking about some shoes they had bought. Maybe the savings of not paying the fare!
  9. This is shame. There was something quite magical about the place - it reminded me of a video shop out of a film, with the staff banter and movies playing the background. Before I had internet at my house that place was my lifeline!
  10. I remember selling a house once and apparently there was subsidence due to a tree (that was later removed). The buyers ran a mile as the insurance company would not touch it. However, a new buyer offered on it, found an new insurer and the bank was happy :-). I think it is really dependant on the lender to be honest. Do NOT pay for a survey on the buyer's behalf as this is their responsibility. If this is the later stages of a deal then I agree with Penguin68 that this could be a tactic for a reduction. My advice would be stand strong, as a buyer will come along prepared to 'take a view' on it. Afterall, I think all houses/flat in the area have some historical movement to be honest!
  11. Grodon can fkuc of
  12. Gordon Ramsay may, not sure about Grodon Ramsay
  13. Huggers- Yes, I do suffer from this regularly. I went to see someone about it. However, none of the terros have any similarity to what I saw that night (apart from the paralysed feeling). Very odd!
  14. correct - *wake up* not *wait up*
  15. I used to live in a house on Ryedale (won't say which one so not to scare any future tenants!). Well on several occasions I used to wait up and see a white figure in the corner of the room. It was just the top half, but had tied back hair and what looked like a baggy blouse on. All I could hear was slow breathing. The first time it happened I was glued to my bed in absolute horror. I managed to wake myself up (felt paralyzed in bed), and turn the light on. What really freaked me out is my better half who was in bed with me at the time said that I burst into tears! I don't remember that at all! Anyway, it happened a few more times, but then stopped. At first I blamed it on the wine, but it happened several times! Very strange.
  16. you are not the only one. Mail strike.
  17. Agreed. Never really felt unsafe at all. I tend to stick to LL as well as it is well lit and busy. I also walk with a purpose and don't fiddle with my phone etc, etc. The only time I have ever felt scared was walking back in the dead of night (4am after a party!), and was going down the side roads off Landcroft. It can be quite dark there. I think as long as you use the common sense precautions you should be ok.
  18. I have had the same experience. The ususal response is 'not south of the river'.
  19. Did you see these on Property Snakes and Ladders with Sarah Beeney last night? They were in the background.
  20. P13 is like the funeral wagon.
  21. I had a look at these to rent. They are absolutely terrible. I once lived in Altima Court, which I thought was well done inside, so was keen to see these. Agreed, storage space is minimal, the space is an odd shape. On top of that, the agent told me the vendor was expecting 'top rent' for them. I am an agent myself, and can spot the chat a mile off. You would think that with them being vacant this long, he would be a little more flexibile. Unless, of course, a repossession order is more attractive that a couple of 100 quid off the rent price!
  22. For those unable to take part due to ill heath, pregnancy, gammy knees or sick notes from Mother, support teams are required to provide water, sponges, first aid, cigarettes, brandy and rescue transport. >>> this sound absolutely hilarious! I love the idea of 'help points' down Barry Road with supporters handing out crafy Marlboro Lights and shots of gin! Brilliant!
  23. how silly to plant trees which they can't maintain!
