6am bin collections - Friern Road and surrounding area
OldTimer replied to Judy2's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Have lived on Friern Road for over twenty years, and collections have always been early. Maybe the reason for early collections, is that the refuse lorry does not block the access for nos 12 and 40 buses at the top end of Friern Road, it will have cleared the section of road between Lordship Lane and Etherow Street, before the buses need to block the road. As far as I am concerned, somebody has to have an early collection. If it wasn't us it would be some other road, so let's not get too worried about it. :)) -
Advice needed:Starting on cow milk
OldTimer replied to nicolemodesti's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Male childminder here, this should give you some information on cows milk , formula goats milk and a lot more eatwell -
A little bit more info on this. They fired off two shots into the ceiling and also robbed the only customer in the shop. Just hope that Mr Chawla has recovered from this awful experience...

From my experience, the quality of the beef that I have purchased from Somerfield (from the meat counter) is TripleA plus....far far better than any other supermarket or independent butchers. A tad pricey, but you get what you pay for. As for the rest of the store, the front half of the store is really attractive and welcoming, but overall the store lets itself down by not having an extensive range of products available (as in a Sainsburys, Tescos, Morrisons), and the products that are available are overpriced, in comparison with other Supermarkets.

MattC, I can assure you that I am far from precious.....in fact quite the opposite.... but...I cannot accept, that simply because somebody has a particular view on what they think is correct or incorrect, that they think they have the right to do as they please .... regardless of the majority. Surely in an advanced , civilised and democratic society, "we follow the rules"........and if we do not believe these rules to be correct, we campaign for them to be changed.... if we all "cherry picked" only those rules that suited us, and ignored those that did not suit us....then we would be living in a society that is not civilised and heading for an anarchic state..... oh....and for your information, I am from an immigrant family, so cannot consider myself to be in any way shape or form, "Middle English"......although I cannot see what is particularly wrong with being Middle English....seems that they have in the past, created a wonderful framework, (which millions of immigrants wish to join on an ongoing basis)....and made Britain Great... and as for the Womens Institute jibe...I cannot for the life of me detect those attitudes, within this forum.

Speaking now as my alter ego "YoungChav"....... after ten pints of stella darn the EDF, gonna get in my car and drive home ...................I believe I am right to do so. When I believe it is safe to drive in the road, I do so. Seems reasonable to me. Others will have different views - of course - doesn't mean my views are wrong. Works well on the sub-continent, and one day it will also be allowed here......... and when I get home I'm gonna walk my dog down the street and let it shit everywhere ....cos its carbon neutral..........
