  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/1808956.stm This link is to a BBC article giving a timeline of MMR research, (the Finnish study being the most quoted). A comprehensive review of the literature.

  3. Hi I am thinking of using 'jam' After school club for my 4 year old 3 days a week and I was wondering if anyone with a similar aged child could tell me if they recommend it, and how their child settled. Thanks!
  4. I have to say that our son is at HHS, just completed a year in nursery and moving to Kindergarten, and we think it is a wonderful school. Although he is still only at the Early Years stage the atmosphere and environment and vibe of the school is one of nuture, and encouragement. There is an open door policy to talk to teachers or the Head at any time, and I have always found the Head approachable and interested, she knows every child and at the stage of recommending future schools to parents personally discusses options. Check out the recent (last term) Independant Schools Inspectorate report online, the school achieved the highest standard in ALL areas. I think this shows the enthusiasm and dedication of the whole staff.
  5. My 3 year old loves his Puky bike. We got it second hand so avoided the expense of a new one. He has lots of confidence now and rides it really well. The idea is to go straight to pedals without stabilisers & I'm sure he will be able to do that soon. The bike is very heavy but this makes it well built & solid.
  6. I agree with Michael. I have 2 young children & feel that safety not distance should be the priority. I'm not sure why a parking space, or lack of one can cause so much discussion?!

  8. We have an experienced nanny for 2 children. She does her own tax, is self employed, we pay ?12.80 per hour. If we had taken on the tax it would have been ?10 per hour. It suits us not to have the hassle of tax etc. Good luck with your search.
  9. Willis B on Lordship Lane state they do children's hair, my 1 year old was booked in with a very junior hairdresser who really had no idea and was asking me how they had gone about cutting her hair the previous time (Trotters, Northcote Road when we lived there)! I was very unhappy with the cut and went straight to the hairdresser at the bottom of Melbourne Grove (forgotten name). They were brilliant and I was pleased with the haircut and friendliness towards my daughter. They also cut my 3 year olds hair. A totally different experience to Willis B.
  10. Hi Can anyone recommend a good children's hairdresser in the East Duleich area for a boy and girl under 5? Thanks
