  1. She clearly has control of her bladder! But yes I would leave it for a month or so. Maybe do sticker/reward charts. Also increase how much she drinks, then she'll need to go more often. She'll get there in the end. Good luck.
  2. Thanks Fuschia......read that over and over today.....seems to me there should be no cost.
  3. No lunch, staying till 3 on the Friday is a new thing, when I went to view all I wanted was mon and fri mornings. She has mentioned about subsidy, but then I haven't read anything about that on any government/council websites. Surely it would state that, I.e depending on costs??
  4. We're in Bromley borough, I can't actually call anyone who knows exactly how it works, they no longer have this, funding issues! the website makes it quite clear that she receives upto 15 hours free........it doesn't mention anything about using all 15 hrs. Confusion! I don't want to be that nagging mother at the pre school!
  5. We generally don't play out until 3pm ish! Way too hot! And to be safe little ones shouldn't be out between 11am-3pm. We have a good play in the garden after tea, wear them out until bed!
  6. Thanks Buggie, the lady that runs it just talked about how funding doesn't cover it. It runs alongside school terms andy government now allow 15hrs over 2 days.
  7. My daughter, aged 3yrs is due to start pre school in September. She will be there on Mondays 9.15-12.30 and Fridays 9.15-3pm. Totalling 9.5hrs.....yet they want to charge me a fee because the funding doesn't cover it. Could anyone please explain why I've to pay when we are entitled to 15 free hours........
  8. Klassymagic! Fantastic magician!
  9. Rainforest cafe........
  10. I think there is a toddler cookery class.......
  11. The old dungeon ghyll, absolute middle of nowhere, if that is what you want!
  12. Pizza express party! All kids make their own pizza and then eat it!
  13. Amazon do!
  14. We took our daughter to Tilgate Park, near Crawley, large green leafy park, toddler play park, and older kids play park, big lake, farm animals, cafe, ice cream! Just lovely!
  15. Do you have cats? Could be an allergy of some sort?
  16. We often have a pub lunch with our 2yr 10m old. We take along colouring pencils, paper, story books etc. she enjoys going, I agree with straferjack, it's all about social experiences and my view, why can't we parents do what we want sometimes rather than everything being about the children. Learning to behave in an acceptable way in certain circumstances. We are going to a party on Sunday, for a friend of ours, it is a sit down meal at a rugby club, I have no worries about her sitting nicely ect as it is something we do.
  17. Me and my 2yr 10m daughter attend j'amies gymnastics in Beckenham on Saturday mornings. Professional gymnastic instructors and equipment, bars, beam, trampoline etc! She absolutely loves it and they can continue forward into later groups as they progress!
  18. I wouldn't tip, I agree with pickle. You pay a delivery charge, and surely that includes bringing into your house!!
  19. My now 2yr 9m old didn't walk until 16 months!!! How many children to you see that crawl to school on their first day?? Nursery probably just want her walking to make things easier for them. She will walk!!
  20. My nephew broke put on spots on Boxing Day, then my daughter 2 weeks later, then the children I was looking after 2 weeks after that......... Pebbles, I've cared for a child with the pox and had to do a pick up like that, I kept them in the buggy with the rain cover over them! You could always pick up 5mins early or deliberately late.
  21. We used medala (not 100% on spelling) got it from amazon, it arrived in the post, we put a tiny bit on her thumb, and she sucked it once, threw up, due to the taste, it is common for this to happen, it's not poison!!! And she never sucked it again!!!thumbguards weren't small enough. The only issue we had was that she then struggled to settle herself to sleep, so be prepared for 1-2 bedtimes that are bit of a bother.
  22. In my last nanny positon, mum was pregnant and the 5 yr old filled me in on it all, apparently it's just like having a big poo! If only.........
  23. Saw exactly this in a shop in the glades, in bromley. Down near Krispy Kreme doughnut cafe! It was in the window!!!!!
  24. My daughter is to start a pre school in sept. she turns 3 in June so will get 15hrs free. However she is only going to do 2 mornings. They've told me that the government only provide enough money to cover a certain amount, it will cost me ?1.50 or thereabouts each session.....is this right? Surely it shouldn't cost me anything!
  25. I suffered badly for years, a day off school each month, vomiting each day. Diagnosed with endometriosis at 25, had lazer treatment. Had pellet injections for 6 months which shut down my system, the less periods the less build up of the endometriosis. Then went on the pill, but advised to take 2 sometimes 3 packets back to back, again to limit the number of periods. Had a baby at 32, periods now, zero pain and fairly light and short. Though the odd one is heavy but no pain. Definetly go and see your doctor. A doctor once said to me pregnancy is a treatment for endometriosis!
