I am 35! For my 11th birthday I got a kitten, and developed asthma the same day though no one put two and together until I left home at 19 and my asthma disappeared!!! I do still get wheezy around animals so it's not technically asthma more of an allergy!

Gymnastics classes with spaces - weekends?
SBot replied to DVnewbie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
If you're happy to travel, take a look at Jamies gymnastics Academy. Based in beckenham. Sarah -
We have a GyroBike. It's a balance bike but comes with a pedal kit. Now she's ready I attached the chain and pedals. Main plus to it is I didn't have to buy a balance bike and then a normal bike!

My daughter is now 4 years old and I still seem to lose a lot of hair daily. I remember that I managed to block the drain (not just the plug) with all my hair loss!! Could have made a wig with what I pulled out I the drain outside (gag!) I am very thin around the front.

Can also recommend "Nanny Matters"

I've read and heard it's all to do with a hormone that is released to enable them to sleep through with bladder control. It is something that cannot be taught/trained. My LO is 4 and still wears a nappy. It's fairly wet in the morning. I don't mind. No-one needs to know she wears a nappy to bed. She starts school this September and I shall not be trying dry nights before school. I shall wait until the nappies are drying in the morning. Sarah x

Antibiotics affects enamel. I took my daughter at the age of 3 to the dentist as I could see that her big teeth at the back were very yellow. The dentist explained that antibiotics affects enamel. When she was born she spent a week in scbu, a healthy 8lb 11oz but had an infection (I had strep b which was not picked up). They pumped her with a whole week of antibiotics, hence her yellow teeth. The enamel on teeth develops right at the end of pregnancy and during the first few weeks. Any antibiotic given during this time affects enamel. So I guess it's having the same effect. Maybe she could take it through a straw but maybe it's not the direct contact that's causes the yellowing.

We has similar.....a friend have me this advice.......we filled a tiny jar with 5 sweets, let the child put them in. Then explain that each time he/she gets out of bed, one gets taken out! Whatever is left in the morning they have! Worked for us!! She just got used to not getting out. So they can see their reward and they are in control.

How many nights have you left your little ones for?
SBot replied to verds's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Just to add, I didn't talk/FaceTime at all, just emails between me and my mum. She still doesn't know that we went on holiday......... -
Trunki's - good idea or waste of money?
SBot replied to KattyKit's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We borrowed one for a holiday to turkey, daughter was 3.5 yrs. it was a pain!! It's a bugger to steer so she would fall off on turning....... Everything falls out when you open it......it's a faff to close......if she pulled it along it kept tipping over. She now has her own small (hand luggage size) suitcase on wheels, a lot easier!!! -

Just returned from Cyprus, a friend got married over there. I left my 4 year old (just turned 4 on Sunday), left her for a whole week. I thought I would struggle being away but actually had an amazing time. It really felt like a break away. Comforting that she was with my parents so I had no worries at all. They've offered to have her again so...... Previous to that we left her for 2 nights, she had just turned 2. She was fine and again if you know they are in good hands it's more relaxing. It's good for the children too. Sarah x -
