  1. Thanks for the info, suniil. The interval training and pitch test is fine but the test for texture (2, 3 or 4) notes is a lot harder.
  2. We have received a provisional offer from the new free school, the Judith Kerr primary school. From the letter, the location of the school cannot be divulged but it is somewhere in Herne Hill. Is it likely that this school will be up and running in time for September 2013? I would be reluctant to accept this school and then lose our offer made through the usual Easmissions system.
  3. Thanks but we have an amazing drum teacher at primary school, we wouldn't go anywhere else!
  4. Interesting link! Thanks for that bellenden belle. As my son is a percussionist, I was a bit unsure about the test incase it would be more biased towards orchestral instruments i.e. musicians that read music. I found some samples of the listening test online and it seems like the kind of thing that he might get on with. Otta - thanks for that info about the music teacher. Maybe we will meet him at the school visit.
  5. Can anyone shed any light on the music aptitude test for Habs? My son is a drummer, his teacher at school has recommended he tries for entry under the music scholarship system although he hasn't suggested how we can prepare for the tests so any info would be appreciated. Thanks
  6. Kos restaurant on Lordship Lane is delicious and the staff are amazing with kids.
  7. Well a flight to Thailand could be ?900, so if you are left with ?100 to live on for 2 weeks, that may be tricky.
  8. Maybe the mum in the article is looking for a career in the media as a commentator on parenting issues and whatnot - that would fit well around looking after kids. Has she been on Loose Women yet? If it's a publicity stunt, then it's worked pretty well!
  9. Does the ?1000 flights, accommodation and all expenses whilst away for 2 weeks? If so, flights are always ridiculously expensive these days, especially if going to Thailand, even off-peak. I think the Eastern Europe recommendation from indiepanda sounds excellent and should be within budget.
  10. I am keen to book this Sunday but the session requires two more participants. If anyone else is interested, do leave a message here.
  11. I think I'd be tempted to take a one year sabbatical off work for the kind of deal :P
  12. Would this be suitable for teenagers or is it just for younger kids?
  13. Amy's site Does the link above work for you? It works fine for me.
  14. I flew about the same amount of time in the opposite direction with my 21 month old and we weren't allowed to let her sleep on the floor due to 'health & safety' as if the oxygen masks came down, i wouldn't be able to reach to pick her up after i'd put on my own mask. i did try and argue the toss with the steward for quite a while seeing as my daughter had been awake for 9 hours straight and finally fell asleep on the floor, but it was a no go!
  15. My toddler just LOVES the mud there. I just take a big waterproof all in one that I put over her clothes then strip that off when we're done and head back home perfectly dry.
