  1. It's not going to stop me getting the sweets in Candj. I am after all a bit of a softee and love seeing the effort the little kids put in with their costumes. Just a shame it makes me nervous to open the door this year. Also had my house egged which I hate.
  2. You could do 343 from the rye to new x gate if getting to honor oak is an issue. Then pick up the overground to Canada water as suggested..
  3. Last year I had several very grumpy older kids trick or treating who got really upset because I only offered them sweets. They were after cash! Also had probs with fussy kids who complained because the sweets weren't what they liked! Whatever happened to being grateful for what you got?
  4. I thought we had moved on from the facetious comments, but clearly I was wrong!
  5. Downhill for 40miles? My idea of perfection!!!
  6. Not sure I am quite in your league - Cuba sounds a little scary to me! Perhaps I am a little ambitious calling myself a road cyclist - I have just made it past the 'getting to the top of Dog Kennel Hill' stage. But there were some serious cyclists there going on some serious climbs. I tended to stick to the flatter and altogether less daunting routes, enjoying the coffee, pasta, wine and return transfers to the hotel each day! I have to say that I didnt go on one of the more challenging 2000m climbs that were on offer, but stuck to the charming scenic, much flatter routes around lake Garda.
  7. Wow, didn't realise I was going to get quite that reaction! Having thoroughly enjoyed the weeks cycling near Soave I got chatting to the owner over lunch who said he had been struggling to get the word out in England. Having passed it around to friends and family I perhaps naively thought that I would spread the word around my neighbours too using this forum. This is my first thread, but have used the ED forum many times for recommendations for GPs and local trades. Having lived and worked quite happily in ED since the late 90's I would hate to think that I've started offending people now!! Louisiana-I'm a road cyclist, I went with a friend who prefers mud and hills, we were both well catered for and now have rock solid thighs!!
  8. Actually no. As I said, I am an ED resident and it is run by a bloke who lives in Italy! As a first time user I just thought I would pass on the fact that I had found a really good holiday that I thought other local residents might be interested in. Thanks for the welcome to the forum!
  9. Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know that I have discovered an amazing biking holiday in Northern Italy. It caters for all abilities, provides a really personal service with airport transfers etc all in. It's run by an English guy who has lived out there for several years and therefore really knows the areas. If you, like me, are looking for something a bit different for holiday next year then check out www.lessiniabiketour.com They were fab and I will certainly be thinking seriously about going next year. Cheers, ED resident
