  1. Hi, It is a couple of years before I have to think about primary school for my LO. But I am interested in home schooling - particuarly as I am worried about the lack of primary school places in Southwark, and worried we wont get into a school near us. Have you any advice? Do you get help from the local council or do you have to fund it completely yourself? I imagine that, with other home schoolers locally, that the kids get as much socialisation as they would at school - is this the case? Many thanks, Belinda
  2. Just back from Wembely - what a great match! Go Team GB!! :-) Despite all the confusion and concern caused by the websites, the staff were great once we got there. We took LO in the little life in the end. We got to the front of the security queue as we were directed through the disabled entrance, due to the carrier. The carrier also gave LO a great view for travelling, but also safety in the huge crowds when leaving. Seats at Wembely flip up, so the carrier was perfect. Took snacks - food mega expensive. 500ml bottles of water were about ?2. Took empty bottles to fill up at water fountains. B x
  3. Hi, I visited Stratford yesterday (no ticket to get into the park), and the public transport was really easy. Went from Brockley Overground, changed at Canada Water to pick up the jubilee line. Trains pretty quiet. Admitedly we did travel around 12, and came back about 8.30/9. Hoping Wembely will be fine. Phoned the stadium on Monday, and they didn't know they had buggy parks! Seems to be a lot of confusion. LOCOG when I phoned them regarding clarification were unhelpful! Thanks for all the tips given. b x
  4. Hi, I have found using a silcon chewable toothbrush helps. The brand I have found is called BrushBaby. Got my first one from the Kristal pharmacy on Evelina Road. http://www.brushbaby.co.uk/pages/Our-products.html LO didn't open her mouth with a conventional toothbrush. But she really likes this one. Actually asks to clean her teeth now! Plus as it is soft, she can walk around safely with it! B x
  5. Hi, Thanks for that. I tried the Olympics help line and they just read out (badly) the information accessible online. I think I will try the little life. The thought of parking up the buggy and then the worry of a toddler in crowds too much, as well as dealing with buggy on busy tube..... Snowboarder, hope you enjoy your event on Wednesday. B
  6. Hi, For my little girls 1st birthday, I made a chocolate cake from recipe supposed to be for cup cakes. I made a hungry catepillar - the body from cupcake (handy to give out as people are leaving) and for the head I used a round cake tin, but shaped it after cooking. I can pass on recipe and pics of cake if of any interest. Hope you have a lovely time celebrating. B x
  7. Hi, I have tickets to see football at Wembly, and am planning to go with my 19month old. And looking for advice regarding it. Have you been to an olympic event with a toddler? Were all the buggy park spaces taken up really quickly? Did you use a carrier instead (I have a little life I could use). Did they let you take your carrier in? What advice regarding food do you have? Is it worth all the stress? :-s Many thanks, B
  8. Hi, Do you know of amy ballet and/or dance lessons that occur in east dulwich for toddlers. I have an 18month old, who i think would benfits from some lessons. Her moves currently remind me of an avant garde dance group! Lessons preferably on Saturdays as I will be working full time from September. Many thanks, Belinda
