Thank you all for your feedback - very helpful. Whilst I agree it would work effectively separating age group, I dont want to penalise those attending with baby and toddler/older child (for example). I will have a good think on this one. Moos, absolutely not a parent/child 1:1 ratio, apologies for the confusion. Each adult will be responsible for the children they bring. And more importantly, the plan is to provide refreshments for adults too! Thanks again for your replies.

Hi TLW If venues can accommodate then hopefully September. Thanks to all those who PM'd. Please note the two hour slot does not mean u have to stay for two hours. You can come early, come late or stay for two hours. This will, however, be changed if people end up being turned away and 2 one hour slots will be put in place. Thanks for your replies and I welcome all feedback :D

Hi all I would welcome your feedback on a possible new soft play club. The sessions will run as follows: 2 hours of soft play inc. Bouncy castle (dependent on venue), ball pool, soft play shapes, rockers, ride ons, slide, pop up tunnels, junior space hoppers and mats. There will also be a corner for babies with sensory play, toys and mats. There will be a 10min refreshment break part way through. Adults MUST accompany their child and there will be two helpers on hand throughout the session. I am in the process of securing venues in both ED and WD. Please let me know if this is something you could be interested in if the cost was reasonable. We will trial this out on a drop in basis but also on a first come, first serve basis. Many thanks Kim

Is tippee toes running throughout the summer?
Kimmy1080 replied to Otta's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi there Sorry, only just seen this message. I plan to run the Monday session throughout July but not August. However, as my children are off school, this means that on one or two occasions, I may have to get someone else in to cover on a Monday. This will be one of two people: Sally who runs music sessions in Lewisham and Bea who runs music classes in East Dulwich. The price and play and stay session will be exactly the same. I am unsure about Thursday baby session. I will put this out to the parents at the session and if there is enough interest, these will also go ahead in the same way for July only. I am working on a new small team to join Tippee Toes which will mean more classes so more announcements will be made from September. Hope this helps. If you need an immediate response, please also PM me so I can respond quickly. Best wishes Kim Tippee Toes 0790 361 8432 -
Tippee Toes baby music class - apologies!

Hi Mel Yes thank you Mel, I am much better. And yes, we are back on Monday. Hope to see you then! Best wishes Kim x -
Hi everyone In my absence a few weeks ago (before half term), I brought in a lady who teaches dance. She was, however, only cover and not an employee of Tippee Toes. I understand that there was a lot of upset amongst parents who were very dissappointed with the level of teaching. I should point out that this lady was brought in purely as a alternative to turning people away when I was unable to make the class. In any event, I wanted to make it clear that this will not happen again. If for any unforeseen reason I am unable to take a class, I will be collating email addresses and using an alternative early years music practitioner. I guess this is one of the downfalls of a 'drop-in' session but I am keen to keep them going. We all had a wonderful time in class yesterday and hope to see you back again next week. Best wishes Kim Tippee toes

Hi everyone I regret to inform you that there will be no music session at the Ceramics cafe this morning. This is due to unforseen illness. There will however be toys laid out if you wish to stop by and grab a coffee. I hope to see you next week and please accept my huge apologies. Best wishes Kim.

Hi Anna My children are at Oakfield and have been there since nursery. They love it and are progressing very well there. They are happy and thriving and receive the attention they require. It's a difficult decision but I'm sure you will make the right choice. Best wishes Kim -

Fed up with other kids in playground!
Kimmy1080 replied to Gussy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Wow - did I really suggest Queenie was not a protective parent? That certainly was not how I wanted that to come across. The point was that everyone parents differently and I don't believe we should have to justify it. I also hadn't realised Queenie had specifically called me 'neurotic' - my post was an opinion and wasn't any kind of backlash. -
I took my six and four year old to Dulwich Picture Gallery for afternoon tea some time ago. The menu didn't really cater for the children but they were happy to accommodate us with bread, toast, snacky things that were not on the menu. Good luck!

Fed up with other kids in playground!
Kimmy1080 replied to Gussy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
No-one should have to justify following their children around in a public place. This is certainly not a bad thing. Someone has a view on it, it's only their opinion and a range of views is good. For me, watching from a distance could be too late to prevent an incident (not necessarily with another child, just an inquisitive toddler getting into mischief). You are there to protect your children and at 2 years of age, I certainly followed my two around in a busy park because yes, I am a protective mummy and a proud one too. -
Hi everyone I am delighted to tell you that I have just managed to secure a space in ED for a tippee toes music session for babies and toddlers on Thursdays at 3pm to 3.45pm. I will put this to my Monday morning session but also wondered how many people would be interested in such a session? If there is enough interest, I will kick off on the first Thursday in May and trial it for a six week period and if the classes prove to be popular, I will keep them running. Feel free to PM me with your email details and I will keep you posted. Best wishes Kim 0790 361 8432 www.tippeetoes.co.uk

Fed up with other kids in playground!
Kimmy1080 replied to Gussy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Oh my goodness, that is terrible! Such a hard lesson for such a young child. You are her mummy and want to protect her. For me, there is absolutely no way you should just accept it. Personally, whenever possible, I would approach the parent/carer of the child straight away and mention what has happened so that the other child continues to learn not to do it. Getting away with it doesn't help the child to learn (in my humble opinion). It is also in the way you approach the adult - no guns blazing type of thing lol....just acknowledge that you understand they are only children but it has to be mentioned. No help at all I'm sure but my heart went out to you when reading your post as my six year old son was very similar to your daughter and because of their lovely, gentle natures, it makes you want to protect them a zillion times more. Don't stop going to your local park. Though it's a harsh lesson, your daughter will soon learn that not all children are as gentle as she is. It won't change her, just look at it like an education in life. My son is still gentle very gentle, loves babies and toddlers (like his mummy), treats his younger sister like a Princess (though the feeling isn't mutual) but knows that all children are not like him. Big hugs. Kim x -
Morning all. I do apologise for those of you who showed up at All Fired Up cafe this morning to find there was no music session. I also arrived at the cafe early to set up only to find tables and ceramics laid out in the back area. I understood from the Manager, Vicky, that they had a recent delivery and so space was very limited, hence no class this morning. Vicky kindly mentioned she would take names and numbers of all who turned up so that we can contact you in the future should anything arise. Once again, I do apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope to see you all again at 10am next week. Best wishes, Kim 0790 361 8432

Hi everyone I am running several baby massage programmes for NCT groups in ED. One programme has unexpectedly become available on the following dates: Tuesday 15 March (either 10am or 12pm) Tuesday 22 March (either 10am or 12pm) Tuesday 29 March (either 10am or 12pm) Tuesday 5 April (either 10am or 12pm) The mums either take it in turns to host a session at their home or one mum hosts the whole four week session at her home. Each session runs for no more than 60 mintes to make it a comfortable experience for both mother and baby. What to expect: You will learn the art of massaging your baby, the wonderful benefits involved and, of course, take this life long experience away with you! Baby massage is a wonderful way to communicate and find that special moment between you and your baby. Research shows that baby massage can help improve blood circulation for babies and relieve stress for parents! Baby massage can also help relieve the discomfort of gas, constipation and colic and, as well as aiding digestion and not forgetting to mention, promotes better sleep! These are just a few examples of why baby massage should be an activity that is incorporated into your daily routine to give you and your baby that special 'moment' that you might otherwise miss out on due to busy life-style. Included in this programme, all participants receive a 50ml bottle of pure vegetable oil, class handouts explaining all the relevant strokes as well as other useful information and a certificate on completion of the course. Fees: Two participants - ?160.00 Three participants - ?200.00 Four to eight participants - ?260.00 By the end of the programme, you will be able to massage your baby confidently, have found a way to incorporate massage into your baby's daily routine and, of course, help your baby relieve discomfort in the most natural, nurturing way possible. This is also a wonderful oppotunity to show what you have learned to your partner so that they may take over and have their own bonding session with your baby and perhaps give you a much needed break! If you would like further information, please contact me on: 0790 361 8432 or [email protected] Many thanks Kim Certified Infant Massage Instructor
