  1. Hi Sophie I'm a class leader and for me, allowing toddlers to explore is of paramount importance. I always try to reassure parents with a smile that it is perfectly fine if their little ones do not want to sit still as I realise that certain aspects of the session will grab their attention more than others. It is dissappointing that you have had such a negative experience but I would encourage you to mention it to the class leader, if not in person then perhaps by email as constructive criticism is so important in order to see improvement. Best of luck with your other activities and please don't let one or two bad experiences put you off trying other activities. Kim
  2. I want to apologise for those of you who turned up at The Gardens cafe this morning to realise the music classes were no longer there. Unless I have your email details, I am unable to contact you with class updates so please do PM me and I will keep you fully informed on future venues for under 5s classes. All the best Kim Tippee Toes
  3. Oimissus and Otta - thank you both for your kind words about Tippee Toes :) My understanding is the insurance premium required to cover children's groups would be, and I will quote from the owner, 'astronomical'. I really have no clue whether this is why they have made the Gallery (room at the back) into a deli but the insurance issue could also apply to groups of mums attending the cafe with small children, hence your feelings about the establishment being unwelcoming to families with young children. I know the Gardens were always very concerned about buggies blocking exit doors (health & safety). I don't know any more than this, sorry. Best Wishes Kim
  4. Hi ladies I have PM'd a few of you who are planning to meet on Monday. I'm Kim and I run the Tippee Toes music group at The Gardens cafe. I have just read your post about your meet on Monday at The Gardens cafe. Unfortunately, I received some unfortunate news today that Tippee Toes will no longer be running music sessions at The Gardens cafe. Of course you are still welcome to go ahead and meet at The Gardens but there will be no music group. Please note we run an 11am session on Mondays at All Fired Up ceramics cafe as well as a Tuesday session at 10am at AFU, just in case one of these are of any interest to you :). And of course there is still the baby session at AFU on a Thursday morning at 10am. I do apologise for any incovenience and hope your meet goes very well. With best wishes Kim Tippee Toes

  6. Hiya - sorry, only just got round to sending out the email to all on the distribution list. There are several changes to the classes so hopefully I have your email address and you've received it? If not, please drop me a PM and I'll add you. As already mentioned, we are back next week, w/c 9th January. Hope to see you then. Happy New Year! Kim x
  7. Thank you to all of you who have supported the Tippee Toes music groups in East Dulwich and Peckham Rye. It has been a wonderful year with lots of new and familiar faces. It is always a huge pleasure watching your little ones grow in confidence and move onto the big wide world of nursery and beyond. Thank you to those of you who made our final session a great one this morning - I look forward to welcoming you all back in the new year from w/c 9 January 2012. Please note there are a few changes with the class venues and times so if I don't have your email address, please drop me a PM and I will add you to the distribution list. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and wish you a very happy Christmas. Best wishes Kim & Laura Tippee Toes Music

  10. Hiya - thanks for the Tippee Toes recommendation. Unfortunately, Friday is the only day that I don't run music classes. But you are welcome to drop in if you are around between Monday and Thursday. And as Minimac rightly pointed out, my sessions are ?3.00 drop-in. Please visit the website www.tippeetoes.co.uk for further information on session times - would be lovely to meet you. I can also recommend Beas Baby Bop on a Friday - really lovely session too. 11. Hi. Tippee Toes runs music sessions for under 5s. Come along tomorrow and give it a try. The session is ?3.00 per child and the class runs for 45 mins followed by a stay and play session until 11.30. Yes, the group is absolutely suitable for 1 year olds - it's a very mixed group with a range from babies up to 3 years, possibly 4 years. Our other music sessions run on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at All Fired Up Ceramics cafe. Feel free to browse the website for age appropriate classes. Hope this helps :D Best wishes Kim http://www.tippeetoes.co.uk/
  12. Is anyone interested in selling a job-lot of toys for a play group? Toys from 0 to 4 years would be great. Thanks Kim

  14. I think Beckenham Spa is great for this age group!
  15. I would be more than will to offer soft play equipment at a venue for crawling babies/small toddlers (as posted before on this forum) if others would be willing to assist with the refreshments and supervising side of it all. PM me if you are interested in helping out in any way. I found a great venue in West Dulwich with a large kitchen area too but still looking for a good spot in ED. Thanks Kim www.tippeetoes.co.uk
  16. Hi everyone Thank you for a great turn out at today's music class. Was lovely to see so many familiar and new faces. 18. Hi everyone Thank you to all of you for voicing your opinions regarding a possible new soft play club in ED. It is with regret that at this time, due to overheads relating to venue and hiring appropriate staff, a soft play club will not go ahead in September. I have not given up and I am still trying to find better options whereby the price is reflected fairly for the activity provided. The quest continues! Many thanks once again. Kim
  19. Sorry to ambush but where is Myatts Fields and Sydenham Wells? I've heard about the water features but no idea where they're located. A road or landmark would be great. Many thanks
  20. Aww, bless. I teach music there on a Wednesday morning, I'm sure he will get along great. The children are so friendly and lovely every time I go there. Good luck, I hope he settles in really well. Kim
  21. Claire's were amazing with my five year old - they used two 'trained' staff to pierce both ears with needle guns at the same time which was brilliant. A few weeks later, I went back to take a family friend. There was only one member of staff who was 'trained' so she could only do one ear at a time out. I was told the other member of staff on shift had not yet completed her training. So I guess they do take this very seriously. With saying that, Claire's will not pierce the ears of babies under four months. Hope this helps.
  22. No, I didn't know that, thanks for letting me know!
  23. Would parents with newborns and pre-crawling babies be interested in a drop-in baby massage class held weekly? The class would run for 30 minutes and include key massage strokes and new songs including a relaxing Bangladeshi lullaby. The main difference between a 'drop-in' class and a full course would be that a drop-in session would cover key massage strokes and benefits only. With a course, you are taken through a four week journey of bonding and attachment with ongoing support and assisting parents in incorporating baby massage into their daily routine. This is just a general enquiry as I know many new mums are hesitant in signing up for a full programme so this could be a nice alternative. Any other suggestions regarding the sessions are welcome, for example, whether the class could run longer than 30 minutes, some refereshments on offer, some sensory activity, that type of thing. Thanks! Kim
  24. Hi everyone Just to inform you that Tippee Toes music will run as usual today (Monday) at 10am (for babies and toddlers) and Thursday at 10am (for babies only). This will be our final week before the summer break. We will return w/c 5th September. Best wishes Kim
  25. Hi Molly You make a good point whether 3 or 4 year olds would get as much out of the equipment as a larger soft play centre but the whole idea is to have something more local, even walking distance, for those who may feel a larger centre is a bit overwhelming for their little ones. Perhaps a nice alternative to the park. I do appreciate that bouncy castles are a bit hit and miss with parents but also, they are very popular and most children really enjoy them. There is a lot to consider here but once I get confirmation from the venue, I can start the preparations. I appreciate all the feedback and will keep you all posted. Thanks Kim
