  1. Woah... after all Macroban's posts it looks like the Credit Crunch TM has hit East Dulwich all of a sudden??!
  2. Never had a problem asking for East Dulwich... "whereabouts in East Dulwich, mate?" is always the reply. My cabbies have always been quite chipper though...

Mate that is a thread in itself. Although I think they have cleaned up the litter in the past couple of weeks, it just spreads so quickly... As for that useless man who occasionally sells railway tickets...
  4. Man you guys complain about getting on at East Dulwich... imagine if you had to get on at South Bermondsey?! Although I usually cycle when I do get the train, it never ceases to amaze me how almost every time most people cannot get on the train there. I do think why don't you just walk to London Bridge - can't be far?! I cycle down St. James' Road from Old Kent Road and it takes about 5 mins from there...
  5. The way I see it - if you want any old plonk go to Somerfield and get whatever ?2.99 bottle there is going. If you want something a bit more tasteful go to Nicholas or even Oddbins in the Village. Why would you ever go to Bossman's wines?! Have never been in but the sight of Oxford Landing in the window at ?4.99 is enough to put me off...
  6. How can people say Waitrose is expensive compared to Somerfield? Try doing an Ocado order online and then visit Somerfield to compare prices...
  7. Going there on Saturday - will see how it goes!
  8. I live on Hansler Road but unfortunately was in the middle of cooking a risotto at 8.15pm! I will keep a look out for these girls - the sad thing is the phones will probably get them about ?10 so they are clearly doing this sort of thing just for kicks...
  9. I work on Tooley Street, London Bridge and have cycled to work for the past few months on the following route: Barry Road - Peckham Rye - Rye Lane - Consort Road - Friary Road - over the Old Kent Road - St James Road - Jamaica Road - Tooley Street Takes about 20-25 mins (depending upon wind I have noticed recently!!) When you look on a map, the route is pretty much a straight line north. Am welcome to alternative suggestions to get to London Bridge efficiently though!
  10. What is the consensus on best curry house on LL. Tried BBC last night and it wasn't too bad but quite expensive I thought. Was quite disappointed with takeaway from Tandoori Nights. Still struggling to find something that compares with Maharani on Clapham High Street.
  11. I have moved to East Dulwich this month and have never seen so many spiders in my garden!!!
