Dear local historians, Does anyone know the name of the female author who lived overlooking Peckham Rye in the 1920s? My grandmother worked as a nanny, looking after the son called Peter in the mid 1920s. Unfortunately, the name of this author has been forgotten. One of my neighbours suggested I start a thread to highlight some very thoughtless parking by a very unpleasant man. It may not be clear on the photo, but this motorist took up two parking spaces when he could easily have moved his car forward and left enough space behind him. When I politely pointed this out to him, he became really quite aggressive. Oh dear.

I?m genuinely shocked and saddened by this result. What more does this electorate want from a councillor? I?m increasingly thinking democracy is overrated! Thank you James for your fabulous work and legacy in East Dulwich.

I've just driven past Townley road and traffic is queuing back past Dulwich hospital to Melbourne Grove. I was caught in this tailback for 10 minutes going the other way earlier this morning. Would I be right in thinking that Southwark council have spent tens of thousands of pounds turning a perfectly reasonable junction into a traffic black spot?

I used A&E in 2010 and was pretty pleased all round, though found it strange that I was encouraged to keep the crutches I was given even though I offered to return them. I've recently spent time at the maternity department, hence the time of this message! Very impressed with everything and everybody in the hospital, but found midwives and health visitors to be worryingly incompetent for the most part. On occasion I felt better informed than some of these people! I know, for example, that babies are meant to be placed on their back to sleep. Hopefully this area can improve.
