  1. Thanks to everyone who posted, lots of good tips.
  2. On a whim we decided to book flights to Mallorca this year... We're going for 8 days & taking our son who will be 19 months by then. We'll probably do a night or two in Palma, but for the beach part of the holiday we're hearing a lot about Puerto Pollensa. Does anyone have any experience or advice that they could share? We'd like to avoid the Thomas Cook / Kids Clubs etc for as long as we possibly can, along with high rises on the beach...
  3. Don't worry, it's not as bad as you'd imagine. My son did his first flight at a very similar age & it was fine. My top tip (aside from feeding on the way up & down) is to take a sling. This makes napping & soothing a lot easier. Also, allow more time than you think you'll need at the airport so that you don't feel rushed or stressed, if you're calm your baby is at ease. Pickle, I don't envy you!
  4. Thanks Gooders & Amy, I appreciate you posting :o)
  5. VERY surprising! Ryanair were my biggest worry, they can be so mean!!
  6. Because of family commitments we fly back & forth to Italy using both Easyjet & Ryanair. I was wondering if anyone had any experience of using a buggy bag with these particular airlines? I'd like to buy one to protect my buggy (the last time we flew it was thrown around a little & arrived at our destination in two parts!) Does anyone know if Easy & Ryanair let you take it up to the gate or would I have to check it in if using the bag? Thanks in advance.

Otherwise any adjustable > bed guard should be fine. Hi Saffron, my son is 14 months & spends half the night in my bed *hangs head in shame*. He's a real wriggler & often throws himself around the bed. It means I'm having to sleep with half an eye open incase he hurls himself off!
  9. Hello, I'm after some advice on buying a bed guard for our Warren Evans wooden based bed, like this one: https://www.warrenevans.com/beds/fiji_bed_and_mattress/?fgid=9 Does anyone know which one would fit? Thanks!
  10. I've sent you a PM Sanity Girl
  11. My son has just started walking, so in a couple of weeks we will need to get him his first pair of shoes. Does anyone have any advice on the best place to get him fitted? It would be nice to have somewhere with a good selection of different brands & styles... Thanks
  12. Two services sound good to me too. Easier when you've got little ones.

What do you use in the bath if you use > no cream after? I use castor oil & a couple of drops of lavender essential oil & it's lovely on my 11 months' skin.
  14. Beagle, I'm afraid I buy it mail order & pay the hefty p&p. It's great stuff though so it's worth it.
  15. My son is 11 months old & I don't use any soaps on his skin either (I'm trying to avoid it for as long as possible. To combat the hard water battering his delicate skin I add organic castor oil & a couple of drops of lavender essential oil to his bath. This was suggested to me by Monica in Healthmatters & it works a treat, no sign of any eczema anymore! (I also use MooGoo cream after washing his face after food etc)
  16. Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you're having such a hard time. I am bfing mum of 1 (!) & had similar problems with over supply/engorgement, blocked ducts & mastitis. I tried all of the usual (cold cabbage, showers, compresses etc) & found the thing that helped the most was when I saw a chranial osteopath - the difference I felt was immediate! I did have to go back, but, I had enormous relief for a few days at least. I also did regular arm rotation excersises which released things too. Things eventually calmed down for me after around 3 months & now I don't have any problems (my son is nearly 9 months). I hope that you find something that works for you so that you can continue doing your heroic work! x
  17. Great news. Thanks
  18. Does anyone know if the lifts are working yet?
  19. Hello, is this group still meeting? My son is only a couple of months old but I would love to learn some Italian songs & nursery rhymes (his father is Italian & that side of the family still live there).
