Ooh lovely, and much needed. I would go to the Porchester spa (think ladies day is tues and thurs). http://www.timeout.com/london/shopping/the-porchester-spa It's very unfancy, no soft white robes nor people trying to make you spend oodles of dosh but if I had a day to myself this is where I would choose to spend it. It's ?26 to get in, you get full use of sauna, steam room, splash pool and swimming pool (I *think* re the latter as last two times I've been I was too lazy to swim). You can take a good book and some mags and relax on a sun lounger (indoors). Nice unpretentious cafe which does enormous salads and Spanish omelettes for about a fiver a dish. And they do all sorts of massages, facials and body scrubs at extra price, mostly between ?25-?50 I think. You'll need to book that in advance. I went recently with my cousin and we both had the most amazing body scrub, and she had an hour-long facial which she loved. For local brunch I'd go to Luca's and sit in the garden/patio out the back. Went recently with a friend for coffee and found service much improved. You could go to the Ritzy cinema during the daytime on the 37, cheaper tickets usually, and then have lunch in one of the amazing places in Brixton market. -
Want to add to the recommendations for Carly. She's blow dried my hair a few times and last week she gave me the Brazilian blow dry and a cut. I have curly, frizzy hair normally which (before two kids) I used to spend too time straightening. Now I just want to be able to wash it and give it a quick blow dry and not feel too much of a straggly mess, especially if going out or venturing beyond the school gate. I washed it myself for first time yday post BB and rough dried it, it's soooooo much easier to manage, is in really good condition finally, and I love the cut. It is a real treat, especially when on maternity pay, but Carly is much more affordable than salon prices, and importantly she is ace, and really lovely, reliable and punctual. It's so convenient that she comes to your house, and doesn't mind a cheeky 4 year old running around nor a hungry 5 month baby chirping away. Highly recommended. Thanks to all those who recommended her previously and therefore introduced her to me and my frizzy locks.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2013/apr/20/letter-to-son-12th-birthday I'm quite a few years away from experiencing this but I'm sure it'll happen to us too. At the mo my son insists he will want us to live together forever, even when he is a daddy he says. Love his innocence.

Did a seminar happen? How does it work, do we need a certain number to attend for Nicola to put one on? -

Kim at the Day Lewis pharmacy on Forest Hill Road mentioned that she is organising a charity fun day to raise money for ALD LIFE: www.aldlife.org so I suggested she let people know about it on the forum... The Fun Day will be held outside the chemist, on the parade of shops on Forest Hill Road (opposite the doctor) on Saturday 18 May from 10am to 1pm. To raise money for this local charity there will be: raffles (lots of great prizes from local shops such as vouchers from Beauty Plus and Si Mangia), face painting, cake stall, and bric-a-brac. They will also be offering such services as blood pressure checks, and information on quitting smoking. Please come along and show your support for ALD LIFE and for our local shops. Day Lewis the pharmacy will be also donating money (I think Kim said they would match whatever she raises) in honour of the pharmacy's anniversary.

It's not free but it is often out of order so you can't pay! Can be difficult to get a space, however.

So it's okay to pour a glass of wine now...

How lovely, wonderful news! -
Never occurred to me either with the Tesco delivery. We pay a delivery charge after all. I'd be surprised if they're meant to accept a tip to be honest.

That's it really. So many people I know do. We didn't with son 1 (a good sleeper after a difficult start), and have tried with son 2 (now 4 months) but it doesn't seem to make any difference to him any more. It seemed to for maybe 2 weeks but since he turned 12 weeks he wakes more. I'm willing him to sleep through. I know it could be worse but we are a bit knackered now. My main concern about the dream feed is interrupting his sleep cycle. I know they're all different, just can't decide whether to persevere with the dream feeding business or not. He takes both formula and breast milk happily, doesn't seem to have a preference.

Can anyone lend me a fox mask (or outfit) for a 4yr old boy? He wants to be the fox from the gingerbresd man. I have been trying to change a bear head and tail into a fox but its not working, surprise surprise. Failing that, he might go to school in his wolf pyjamas with a gingerbread man cut out stuck to his nose... -
Peckham Pulse soft play? There's a thread on here about it. Cheap and cheerful and good fun!

Baby no 2 is 3 months old and although generally a good sleeper he will really only sleep at night if tightly swaddled. He's in a cot in our room. He wakes 2 times in night for a feed and is pretty good at going back to sleep after a good burp but only if swaddled. I'm sure his big bro (now 4) was in gro bags by this stage. It's no biggie just not sure he ought to be swaddled still and at 2am it's getting knackering doing it properly!

How about a snazzy coffee machine?

Ah, thanks, v useful. Maybe the sling will do the trick. Wish me luck... Think this is a 'fun' half-term activity for me.

Boring question but does anyone know/remember whether the trollies at ikea have either space for a car seat and baby, or whether they have those trollies like sainsburys where you can put the baby, or neither?

Is there any way of finding out whether permission to do a loft conversion might be granted on a house we are interested in buying?
